Loaded Envelope for a Happy Bee-Day

As we continue with the BIRTHDAY theme for March, today’s project is a Happy B-Day LOADED ENVELOPE! You saw the mini version a few weeks ago, and this time we started with a 12″ x 12″ piece of Designer Series Paper to make pockets that hold all the goodies a crafter could want.

On the side of the paper that you want for the outside of your envelope, score on each side at 3-1/4″, then turn 90 degrees and score 3-3/4″ from the bottom edge. You can watch the video below for exactly how to do this.

NOTE: This project works best if the pattern on the outside of your envelope is non-directional, like the flowers on this paper, which don’t have a right-side-up. I did make sure the bee paper was vertical on the back side, so the inside of my envelope shows them the correct direction.

Fold both sides toward the center and press open the “collar” and connect the sides in the front with Tear & Tape. Next, fold up along the 3-3/4″ score line to create the lower pocket(s). You may choose to cut about 1-1/2″ along the right side score line before folding up the pocket, so you can fold it down, as I did on the sample above, which allows you to fold the right edge down, revealing the back side of the paper, and forming a 3rd pocket (where the sticker is inserted).

Add finishing touches to decorate the front of the envelope, like the smallest hexagon focal point above, with a bee, flowers and sentiment. Follow along as I demonstrate:

Stuff your gift with a handmade card, paper snips, adhesives, embellishments (like the Tiny Bee Trinkets!) and other crafting essentials…like chocolate (dressed up in a sleeve of matching paper)!

I hope you’ll have as much fun making one of these as I did! Which crafty friend would appreciate this gift?

Thank you for shopping for the supplies below ~ your support means the world to me as a creator.

Arched Screen Divider Card Tutorial

“and the 2025 winner in the Top Die-Cutting Tool category is……EVERYDAY ARCHES!

Worthy of a standing ovation, the Stampin’ Up! Everyday Arches Dies (and coordinating stamp set) are truly a non-negotiable necessity in everyone’s craft room. Full stop.

With 10 nesting dies (the largest die is 5-3/16″ x 3-15/16″), you’ll marvel at the full range of crafting abilities of such a basic shape. (In case they are “currently unavailable”, fear not, they’ll be back in stock soon!). I’m here to help you see their potential, starting with the Arched Screen Divider Card:

Don’t arch an eyebrow (ha-ha)…this is just the front. When you open it up, the STAGE IS SET:

As a baby card, you could put a photo of the newborn in the center panel -OR- list their name, birthdate, birth place and vitals (handwritten, if you have lovely writing or print from your computer, if you don’t).

The back side gives more space to add photos or love notes:

What I love best is that the Beatrix Potter vibes make it a perfect decoration on a nursery shelf, or the parents could use each piece in a scrapbook!

A few close ups:

The “Know You are Loved” panel was completed after my demonstration, and it is the perfect fit.

I’ve got different versions to share with you, but first, the instructions in video:

On to the other versions, starting with a birthday card using the Full of Life Designer Series Paper and a sneak peek of the Arched Wishes stamp set, coming in March:

Because there are only 5 days left of Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration, I also had to make an Arched Screen Divider card with one of our freebies:

If the Terrific Toadstool bundle is on your list, don’t put off ordering it even one more second, or you’ll miss out on the Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper (free choice with $60 purchase by February 28, 2025)!

Tell me what you think of this card (comment section at top of post, by title and date posted) and you may receive the toadstool version in the mail!

Cutting Map for 6×6 Designer Series Paper

If you create cards, you know the satisfaction of using EVERY. INCH. of patterned paper! Let me use the Stampin’ Up! Fruit Salad Designer Series Paper for Sale-a-Bration to show you how to quickly cut a sheet of 6″ x 6″ paper to make TWO cards!

The first cut you make will be 1″ off the side, then turn your DSP 90 degrees and cut an inch off the other side (you’ll have a 5″ x 5″ piece left over):

The third cut you make will be to cut your 5″ square into two 2.5″ sections. BEFORE YOU CUT, make sure you know which orientation you want your card to be, if there is a direction in the pattern! Watch the video below to see me explain.

The last cut is to take 1″ off the 6″ x 1″ strip, but DON’T THROW THAT TINY SQUARE AWAY!

Once you have your two sets of paper pieces, lay them onto a 4″ x 5.25″ card stock, leaving space in between them. Embellish, then mount the layers onto a card base:

Video instructions:

Here are the cards I created or showed using the Fruit Salad paper and the cutting guide. Add ribbon, a greeting, a focal point, a strip of card stock:

This pattern/layout is good for most double sided paper, especially when one side has a bold pattern and the back side has more subtle pattern. Try mixing up patterns from a package, like this card using the Sale-a-Bration Toadstool Gardens paper:

A sentiment stamp set and coordinating punch make finishing these greeting cards speedy, or create a scene (like the toadstools) on a 2″ x 3-1/4″ rectangle. Alternatively, fussy cut an image from the paper itself:

Don’t miss the chance to get some lovely paper free during Sale-a-Bration! Only 4 weeks left.

Come back tomorrow to see what you can do with all the last inches left over from your DSP!

Darling Dino Wobble Card

Cards that Wiggle with Wobbles!

Guaranteed: you won’t be able to keep your hands off these cards, and neither will the kids!

This simple Dutch-Door Fun Fold card features the Darling Dinos bundle (stamps & dies) from Stampin’ Up! AND a WOBBLE to make the dinosaur wiggle when you flick it:

The cards open like this:

The video tutorial is below. Here are the supplies needed for the basic card:

  • Card base: 4.25″ x 11″
  • White card stock: 4″ x 5.25″
  • Two pieces of Designer Series Paper: 1.75″ x 5.25″ and 2.25″ x 5.25″
  • Two circles- smaller one is 2-3/8″

The wobbles can be found on Amazon here. or if you prefer a die for making your own, try this one

Because the wobbles squish flat, they are able to fit into an envelope and CAN be mailed. Your post office may charge a surcharge if they feel it’s “too bumpy”, which is why I made the rest of the card as flat as possible.

It was so fast to make the Darling Dino Valentines that I had time to make one with the Terrific Toadstools bundle (stamps & punch) and the Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper that you could choose FREE during Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration!

Don’t miss the chance to collect this paper to match the bundle- it’s gone 2/28/25!

If this inspired you, please allow me to serve your creativity by ordering the supplies from my Stampin’ Store to make your own. Click on the items to add to your cart, then watch your mailbox for a hand-stamped thank you card!

New at SU! Fruit Salad for Sale A Bration

Good to see you here again – or for the first time! We have an international group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators dedicated to bringing you “What’s New” at SU! each month and our January 2025 hop is all about Sale-a-Bration Coordination!

Sale-a-Bration is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest event of the year, where you can shop, host and join with EXTRA PERKS. We are focusing on the products you can choose FREE, and combining them with items from our other offerings to show you how they mix & match beautifully. I’ll show you how the Fruit Salad Designer Series Paper (a free Sale-a-Bration item with a qualifying order in your market) can be used with the Everyday Arches bundle just released in the Online Exclusives!

Yum…fresh pineapple takes the stage in this card! Isn’t it spectacular how the back side of this paper makes a mouth-watering background, while the pineapple fussy cut from the front stands tall as the focal point on the layered arches?

For card #2, I wanted to feature as much of the fruit as possible, so to make the mat a bit smaller, I traced the inside of the arch die just larger than the one I used to cut the patterned paper and hand-trimmed it so I could get one two on the front with the sentiment. Sure to bring sunshine to a friend:

Next, I created a trio of arches for this Thank You card using a few different fruits from the paper:

The last card shows the versatility of the dies ~ You can even create OVALS!

Living up to their name, you can mix up the fruits and patterns of this paper for a delicious, refreshing recipe every time. You’ll be seeing more of this paper from me as I squeeze the most out of my Creative Juice! Next, move on to Annette’s post featuring the “Dance with Me” Sale-a-Bration stamp set and remember to save or Pin your favorites along the way!

Embossed Fault-Line Cards

If this was a contest, you would have OVERWHELMINGLY voted for the Fault Line Cards as BEST OF SHOW! Since they have been such a hit, I wanted to try an EMBOSSED version, and they are just as show-stopping as the originals, just take a look (watch the video tutorial)…

The Happy Hibiscus bundle includes a photopolymer stamp set, hybrid embossing folder and coordinating dies. With all that divine coordination, it was a lovely choice for this project! This time I started with a 4.25″ x 9″ card base and pulled a white craft ink pad across the embossed Melon Mambo card stock to make the flowers pop.

Next, I used the Eyelet 3D embossing folder to create a background in hues of purple for a few toadstools (arriving January 7th- just in time to add to your cart and qualify for a free Sale-a-Bration product, like the embellishments on the card):

Watch this “How-To” tutorial for making Fault-Line cards of all types:

This version gives you one more look at one of the Designer Series Papers that will be included in the Paper Share (reserve your share by 1/7/25) and it’s called Wildflower Birthday, which is part of a suite of coordinating products in the Stampin’ Up! 2025 Jan-April mini catalog.

It is destined for one of my team members who has a birthday in January, and I know she’ll love it!

Not all products are available in my Stampin’ Store until January 7th, but here are the ones you can save to your cart now, or JOIN MY TEAM AND GET IN ON THE PREORDER immediately:

This Thank You card was designed to be speedy and simple to stamp, plus I’m using Stampin’ Up! Notecards & Envelopes, so they are pre-cut and scored. No excuses here!

The Humble Home bundle includes all the stamps you need, plus the Home Builder Punch. You can literally create a stack of these in just minutes.

New at SU!- Tied Up with Bows

It’s Ribbon Week here on the Creative Juice Blog, and the New at SU! design team theme for December is “Tied Up with Bows” ~ so I went BIG with the bow on this slimline card, featuring the Happy Hibiscus, a NEW Online Exclusive bundle:

Wrapping a ribbon around a layer on your card gives it a nice finish, and you don’t see the ribbon from the inside of the card.

Before I tied the ribbon, I cut a length of the Silver & White Sheer ribbon in half down the center and laid two loops on my knot, then tied them inside the bow, giving it extra “fluff”:

The Happy Hibiscus bundle includes a 3-D Hybrid embossing folder (which cuts and embosses flowers at the same time, should you so desire), and I just pulled my Whisper White ink pad across the embossed Smoky Slate card stock to bring the embossing out.

I chose to HEAT EMBOSS the large flower, then watercolored it using Pretty In Pink ink and a Water Painter, before die cutting it out. The blossoms and leaves are also watercolored.

I will use this card for my next team member who promotes to Silver, though it would also be a lovely wedding card! Plus: a matching envelope. Finished size: 6″ x 3.5″

Before you move on to the next ribbon/bow project, what is your current favorite Stampin’ Up! ribbon? Tell me in a comment section (at the top of this post, by the date)!
