Toadstools on a Front-Step Pop-Up Card

Opening an envelope to have a card pop out with a happy hello is enchanting, so when thinking of a fun-fold to feature for Live Crafting with the Stampin’ Up! Terrific Toadstool bundle (stamps & punch), this front-step pop-up card “popped” to mind!

One thing to QUICKLY NOTE: The Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper is a Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration 2025 freebie (one you may choose with a $60 order), but is only available until February 28, 2025…so don’t hesitate to collect it!!

For pop-up cards, this is one of the easiest to make and I’ll walk you through it in this video:

Quick dimensions & measurements:

CARD BASE:

  • Card Stock: 11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 1″, 2-1/4″, 4-1/4″ and 5-1/2″ along long side
  • Two pieces of Designer Series Paper: 4″ x 5-1/4″ for background and 4″ x 1-3/4″ for bottom front panel.

POP UP PIECE:

  • Card stock: 3″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 1/2″ and 1- 3/4″

Darling Dino Wobble Card

Cards that Wiggle with Wobbles!

Guaranteed: you won’t be able to keep your hands off these cards, and neither will the kids!

This simple Dutch-Door Fun Fold card features the Darling Dinos bundle (stamps & dies) from Stampin’ Up! AND a WOBBLE to make the dinosaur wiggle when you flick it:

The cards open like this:

The video tutorial is below. Here are the supplies needed for the basic card:

  • Card base: 4.25″ x 11″
  • White card stock: 4″ x 5.25″
  • Two pieces of Designer Series Paper: 1.75″ x 5.25″ and 2.25″ x 5.25″
  • Two circles- smaller one is 2-3/8″

The wobbles can be found on Amazon here. or if you prefer a die for making your own, try this one

Because the wobbles squish flat, they are able to fit into an envelope and CAN be mailed. Your post office may charge a surcharge if they feel it’s “too bumpy”, which is why I made the rest of the card as flat as possible.

It was so fast to make the Darling Dino Valentines that I had time to make one with the Terrific Toadstools bundle (stamps & punch) and the Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper that you could choose FREE during Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration!

Don’t miss the chance to collect this paper to match the bundle- it’s gone 2/28/25!

If this inspired you, please allow me to serve your creativity by ordering the supplies from my Stampin’ Store to make your own. Click on the items to add to your cart, then watch your mailbox for a hand-stamped thank you card!

New at SU! Fruit Salad for Sale A Bration

Good to see you here again – or for the first time! We have an international group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators dedicated to bringing you “What’s New” at SU! each month and our January 2025 hop is all about Sale-a-Bration Coordination!

Sale-a-Bration is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest event of the year, where you can shop, host and join with EXTRA PERKS. We are focusing on the products you can choose FREE, and combining them with items from our other offerings to show you how they mix & match beautifully. I’ll show you how the Fruit Salad Designer Series Paper (a free Sale-a-Bration item with a qualifying order in your market) can be used with the Everyday Arches bundle just released in the Online Exclusives!

Yum…fresh pineapple takes the stage in this card! Isn’t it spectacular how the back side of this paper makes a mouth-watering background, while the pineapple fussy cut from the front stands tall as the focal point on the layered arches?

For card #2, I wanted to feature as much of the fruit as possible, so to make the mat a bit smaller, I traced the inside of the arch die just larger than the one I used to cut the patterned paper and hand-trimmed it so I could get one two on the front with the sentiment. Sure to bring sunshine to a friend:

Next, I created a trio of arches for this Thank You card using a few different fruits from the paper:

The last card shows the versatility of the dies ~ You can even create OVALS!

Living up to their name, you can mix up the fruits and patterns of this paper for a delicious, refreshing recipe every time. You’ll be seeing more of this paper from me as I squeeze the most out of my Creative Juice! Next, move on to Annette’s post featuring the “Dance with Me” Sale-a-Bration stamp set and remember to save or Pin your favorites along the way!

Embossed Fault-Line Cards

If this was a contest, you would have OVERWHELMINGLY voted for the Fault Line Cards as BEST OF SHOW! Since they have been such a hit, I wanted to try an EMBOSSED version, and they are just as show-stopping as the originals, just take a look (watch the video tutorial)…

The Happy Hibiscus bundle includes a photopolymer stamp set, hybrid embossing folder and coordinating dies. With all that divine coordination, it was a lovely choice for this project! This time I started with a 4.25″ x 9″ card base and pulled a white craft ink pad across the embossed Melon Mambo card stock to make the flowers pop.

Next, I used the Eyelet 3D embossing folder to create a background in hues of purple for a few toadstools (arriving January 7th- just in time to add to your cart and qualify for a free Sale-a-Bration product, like the embellishments on the card):

Watch this “How-To” tutorial for making Fault-Line cards of all types:

This version gives you one more look at one of the Designer Series Papers that will be included in the Paper Share (reserve your share by 1/7/25) and it’s called Wildflower Birthday, which is part of a suite of coordinating products in the Stampin’ Up! 2025 Jan-April mini catalog.

It is destined for one of my team members who has a birthday in January, and I know she’ll love it!

Not all products are available in my Stampin’ Store until January 7th, but here are the ones you can save to your cart now, or JOIN MY TEAM AND GET IN ON THE PREORDER immediately:

“Thank You for the Gift” Notecards

When was the last time you sent a thank you card for a gift you received? (Full transparency: This is something I need to do more of) Since it’s less than a week from Christmas, this is OUR chance to be gracious and grateful.

This Thank You card was designed to be speedy and simple to stamp, plus I’m using Stampin’ Up! Notecards & Envelopes, so they are pre-cut and scored. No excuses here!

The Humble Home bundle includes all the stamps you need, plus the Home Builder Punch. You can literally create a stack of these in just minutes.

To make it easy for you, too, print off the tutorial, then add the supplies you need to your cart below.

New at SU!- Tied Up with Bows

It’s Ribbon Week here on the Creative Juice Blog, and the New at SU! design team theme for December is “Tied Up with Bows” ~ so I went BIG with the bow on this slimline card, featuring the Happy Hibiscus, a NEW Online Exclusive bundle:

Wrapping a ribbon around a layer on your card gives it a nice finish, and you don’t see the ribbon from the inside of the card.

Before I tied the ribbon, I cut a length of the Silver & White Sheer ribbon in half down the center and laid two loops on my knot, then tied them inside the bow, giving it extra “fluff”:

The Happy Hibiscus bundle includes a 3-D Hybrid embossing folder (which cuts and embosses flowers at the same time, should you so desire), and I just pulled my Whisper White ink pad across the embossed Smoky Slate card stock to bring the embossing out.

I chose to HEAT EMBOSS the large flower, then watercolored it using Pretty In Pink ink and a Water Painter, before die cutting it out. The blossoms and leaves are also watercolored.

I will use this card for my next team member who promotes to Silver, though it would also be a lovely wedding card! Plus: a matching envelope. Finished size: 6″ x 3.5″

Before you move on to the next ribbon/bow project, what is your current favorite Stampin’ Up! ribbon? Tell me in a comment section (at the top of this post, by the date)!

Fanc-ify with Christmas Labels

Perhaps it’s the reader in me, but I am a typophile (someone who appreciates a pretty FONT). Stampin’ Up! combined lovely label dies with the gorgeous typography in the Christmas Labels stamp set, and it was a must-have BUNDLE for me.

The way a label can elevate a simple card or gift is what I wanted to demonstrate in a video tutorial:

These were the projects made during the video. The first card features the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the shiny gold accents aren’t as visible in the picture, but can be seen in the video:

Next is another simple card layout spotlighting a piece of the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper, and showed how to create a contrasting matte behind the label by cutting a second label in half:

I’m sharing easy cards to encourage you to keep your holiday crafting attainable! No need to overthink it, or add stress.

Layer a color over the center of the larger label for a striking contrast, add a coordinating ribbon and the tag makes a basic box beautiful:

When bundles (stamps + dies -OR- stamps + punches) are introduced to my Stampin’ Store, they are 10% off the price of purchasing each product individually. CLARIFICATION: In the video, we thought the Christmas Label bundle and Christmas DSP would be in Seasonal Sale that begins tomorrow (11/13/24), however we learned that only bundles and patterned paper in the Annual catalog are included in the Seasonal sale, along with most ink and card stock:

Counting Blessings Book Box Favor

A great DIY is one that is prepared for you to put the finishing touches on, and these darling little book treat box accordion albums double as precious keepsakes, once you add photos and journaling of which blessings you are most grateful for.

The Book Treat Boxes give you the canvas to embellish, and I chose to use the back side of the lovely Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper to cover my boxes, because it looks like colored leather or parchment, perfect for my vision of classic books:

Embossing the sentiment on the piece cut from the frame in the Splendid Autumn bundle adds a old-fashioned title to the album, and the Mini Alphabet dies personalizes the book.

You could fill these boxes with treats, but I chose to make a Gratitude album. Open it up and pull out the pages to add photos of who or what you are thankful for, and journal why they matter to you. You can add at least TWO strips of 3.25″ x 12″ card stock (scored every 2.5″) end-to-end to make long accordion pages, though this is just one strip:

Watch the video for tips and how to assemble, then add the supplies to your cart below:

3 Stampin' Up! Sentimental Wishes Tags for Christmas

New at SU!- Sketches are for Tags, Too

Sketches are a Stamper’s secret design tool, and not only do they work for greeting cards and scrapbook pages, sketches also help you master a GIFT TAG…and a beautiful tag will level up any gift!

For our October New at SU! blog hop, I selected 3 tag sketches from page 16 of the September-December Mini catalog and combined those sketches with a set of products that evoke classic Christmas vibes.

The sketches gave me a starting point for my creativity, and a suite of Stampin’ Up! products helped limit my options, which actually makes it easier to be artistic. All supplies are listed at the end of this post.

The Joy/Candle tag mostly features stamping the images from the stamp set:

The stocking tag shows how you can cut some of the images from the Designer Series Paper with the dies, which also match the stamped images:

Finally, the Very Merry tag puts the focus on the sentiment:

The wonderful thing about tags is that they dress up any gift, along with a bit beautiful ribbon ~ see how they make a Kit Collection box fancy? Remember that all the kits are ON SALE this month (see below).

But that’s not all! Tags are adorable on a greeting card, as well:

Not only are tags a miniature piece of art, they are also a terrific way to use up scraps! Try cutting some of your smaller pieces of card stock into tag shapes, and have them ready to pair with a sketch.

Tell me what you think of these tags- leave a comment link at the top of the post!

New at SU! More than Autumn

Hello Autumn, Hello Fall, Welcome Crafters, Welcome all! The international New at SU! blog hop team has been looking forward to sharing the bundles we love with you from the Stampin’ Up! 2024 September-December mini catalog, and I chose the MORE THAN AUTUMN stamp & die bundle to create a slimline card for any fall festivity:

When you can’t choose just one favorite taste of the season…choose them all!

To fit into a legal envelope, I made the Pecan Pie mat 4″ x 8.5″ and the Very Vanilla card that sits on top is 8.25″ x 7.5″, scored in half at 3.75″. It opens like this:

One idea of what to write on the inside: “My favorite Fall Festivity is YOUR BIRTHDAY! Hope it’s as sweet as you are, and filled with all your favorite things, too.”

Before you move on to see Annette’s awe-inspiring Artful Amaryllis project (or choose your own path through the hop), tell me your preferred seasonal sweet in the comment link at top!
