Since the Bough Punch is on backorder, I promised to demonstrate card using Layering Leaves (featured as my August 3 for FREE stamp set) that DOESN’T need the punch, and I’ll be using this design as thank you cards this month because it’s quick to create.
The “Reverse Masking” technique is made even easier with the new Masking Paper from Stampin’ Up! and it was magic to demonstrate HOW to use it in this quick video:
The card layout was inspired by one of my Sprinkled Ink team members, Beverly Benson. We made a similar card at our June Retreat shoebox swap and I knew it would work with this fabulous set.
You’ll be happy to learn – or remember! – this classic stamping technique.
Add the Layering Leaves to any $50+ order from my Stampin’ Store in August and receive 3 free tutorials via email plus the consumable supples from me in the mail!
Does your city have a community celebration during the summer? In Hurricane, Utah, we have PEACH DAYS at the end of August/first of September, and I’m drooling just writing about the peach shakes and all peach-inspired goodies that will be offered during the festivities.
This anticipation prompted me to pull out the Apple Harvest stamp set…because who says it has to be apples?
By coloring the apples with Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens (not to be confused for Stampin’ Blends), I was able to get a “peachy” blush that was vine-ripe and mouth-watering. The key is to use the Calypso Coral AND Pumpkin Pie pencils on around the edges, then blend the colors toward the center with a Blender Pen.
Blender pens come in a 3-pack and I use washi tape to mark each end with a basic color (green, blue, purple, red/pink, yellow/orange and brown) so I don’t have to worry about wiping them too clean. You may use them to blend in refills or watercolor pencils and are VERY easy and forgiving.
I learned a new tip from an artist I follow on Instagram (@andrea.nelson.art) and that is to add a little BLUE to your leaves, and I love how it adds depth and dimension.
HERE’S THE AWESOME DEAL:The Apple Blossom dies which coordinate with the Apple Harvest stamp set ARE IN THE CLEARANCE RACK, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!! They were a limited time offering in 2022, and are marked down to $14 (from $35).
Seriously, don’t miss these dies…who knows how long they will last?
DID YOU KNOW: August 24th is National Peach Pie day? It’s as good an excuse to send a card as any!
While I’m coming to tell you all the super Stampin’ Up! stuff happening in August, stick around to the end for a Layering Leaves fun fold card that *doesn’t* require the Bough Punch!
First, it’s TIME TO REDEEM the Bonus Days coupons you earned in July!

If you didn’t hear yesterday, my personal focus in August is on the Layering Leaves stamp set: This set coordinates with the Bough Punch – which is sadly being restocked from overseas – but you can still earn my 3 for FREE offer by adding the stamps to any $50+ order this month:
You’ll get a tutorial for 3 free cards via email AND the consumable supplies to make those 3 cards in the mail! I’ll also send any customer who orders the stamp set this month a FIRST NOTIFICATION message as soon as that pesky Bough Punch is back in stock, for you’ll want it with your stamp set.
There are just a few supplies you’ll need to complete the 3 free card tutorials that WON’T be included. You may already have these on hand OR could substitute similar products, but if you want to add them to your order, here they are:
Ink Pads: Basic Gray, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat, Copper Clay, Granny Apple and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad
Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals
Meanwhile…
Here’s a simple fun fold card that you can create with your Layering Leaves stamp set!
I carefully curated 3 classy card kits for my customers who purchased the Layering Leaves + Bough Punch between July 31-August 31, 2023, only to find this morning that the Bough Punch is on backorder!
So let’s do this instead: Add the Layering Leaves stamp set to any $50+ order from my store during that time and you’ll still get the tutorials emailed AND the supplies sent to you, then I’ll send you a notification when the Bough punch is available! This may work better for you anyway, if you already purchased the punch 😀 as it won’t be a requirement to receive the projects.
The font for these sentiments are easy to read and elegant, and it won’t go out of style anytime soon.
Make sure you see the list of additional supplies you’ll need to complete the 3 card tutorials at the end.
Moving ahead as I had already planned, I showed a simple, classic card in my Monday Lunchtime Live Crafting video, and it’s perfectly simple:
Leaves are lovely to use, because they feel universal for anyone who needs a card, and adding a few sprigs and a double bow give it a bit of whimsy and sparkle. On August 14th, I will demo a project that *doesn’t* require the punch, so make sure to catch it!

Obviously, I’m a citrus girl, but if I had to choose between lemons or limes, limes win!
Now that the color Lemon-Lime Twist is back in the Stampin’ Up! core color family, I used it to whip up a card recipe. And if you are looking for a recipe to DRINK, check out the Brazilian limeade recipe below.
If it looks good enough to drink and your mouth is watering, try this BRAZILIAN LIMEADE recipe to cool off with…you’ll come back to thank me, for it truly is SO REFRESHING.
Place sugar, limes, sweetened condensed milk, and 2 cups of water in a blender. Pulse for 5 seconds (until the limes are well incorporated) then pass through a strainer and add remaining 4 cups of water.
Just a few more days to earn BONUS DAYS coupons (ends July 31st) then you may begin redeeming your coupons in August!

Did you know there are products online that aren’t in the Stampin’ Up! catalog? The New at SU! Design Team wants to make sure you know how AWESOME our Online Exclusive products are!
Occasionally we get a product that we know will be a runaway hit…and the Trucking Along Bundle was one of those which sold out the first stock in just a few days, then AGAIN just this week you snagged up all the punches we had in the Utah warehouse! The stamp set is still available in the U.S. market, and the TRUCK BUILDER PUNCH has been reordered (though it’s coming from overseas, so it may take up to 90 days…). Thanks for being patient while we restock.
The photopolymer stamp set + coordinating punch covers everything from Summer to Christmas, and really delivers crafting happiness:
For my card, I used an inch and a half of a paper straw glued to the back of the truck and slightly flattened out (which is why it has to be paper, and really a much better use for a paper straw than drinking….) to slide along the linen thread! You may want to use two layers of Thick Basic White card stock to make the truck heavy enough to slide easily, or use a mini glue dot to attach a penny to the back of the truck.
The pickup is packed for a beach adventure and the sun is radiating! You’ll have a load of fun making it slide back and forth along the linen twine. I’d love to hear your thoughts about this card!
While some products will stay a while in the Online Exclusive section of our Stampin’ Store, some may be LIMITED to the supply on hand, and supplies in each market may vary. New Online Exclusive products will be introduced in MARCH, JULY and NOVEMBER. You’ll want to visit all the other posts in the July New at SU! Blog Hop and **SAVE** your favorites to CASE (copy) later!

This Online Exclusive bundle sold out in just a few days when it debuted on July 6th, and it (was) back in stock TODAY (7/17/23)!
As demonstrators, we KNEW this one was going to start off with it’s engine’s roaring- just look at that adorable little truck!

When you want someone to gasp as they open their mail, emboss some FOIL PAPER.
This gold panel embossed with the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder just feels so sumptuous as it catches the light, and the sparkle is mimicked in the edge of the ribbon, too!
The Quarefoil Tile is a STANDARD embossing folder, so it’s “sandwich recipe” is a little different that the 3-D folders I’ve been showcasing earlier this week. And remember, the sandwiches are also shown on the platform #1 that comes with your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, as well.
If you HAVEN’T had a chance to watch as I explain the differences in embossing folders, watch this video- It will teach you all you need to know!
Did you know that July is my birthday month and I’m GIVING gifts? I’m donating 10% of my sales to Operation Underground Railroad to help stop human trafficking AND another 10% to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, as chosen by the members of my Creative Juice Crafter’s Corner Facebook Group. I’m content with the many blessings I have, and it’s a pleasure to make a difference in the world when I can.

Hey! It’s good to see you here and know you’ll like the next 3-D embossed card idea. Are you pinning these ideas for inspiration when you want some texture on your cards and paper crafts?!
Stampin’ Up! has an embossing folder that matches the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper – The Countryside Blossoms E.F. matches one of the patterns perfectly! – but you don’t have to have a matching design to emboss on Designer Series Paper. For this card, I debossed the 3-D Dots into a striped citrus pattern from the Delightfully Eclectic mega-pack:
You CAN combine dots & stripes!
I appreciate that the pattern on the paper hearkens back to my signature “Sweet Citrus” bundle, and in my Tips & Technique video, I used the HYBRID 3-D embossing folder to show you how that one CUTS & EMBOSSES at the SAME TIME!
That’s the third embossing folder from the Basics 3-D Embossing Folder Trio in the Online Exclusives section of my store, but I do have another card to share with you tomorrow.
Make your own ZESTY birthday card with the supplies listed below, and remember to save your BONUS DAYS coupons from July in a folder in your email so you can easily find them to SPEND in August!
Welcome back to day 2 of my embossing folder series! Today we are looking closer at the Crosshatch 3-D Basic embossing folder (one of a trio in my online store).
For a textured background like this, stamp your images first, then run it through the embossing folder. I used the texture OUTDENTED (it’s a real word) on my floral background, but you can also turn your paper over to get an INDENTED texture like this as an alternative:
If you missed the video teaching TIPS & TECHNIQUES for embossing folders, you can watch it here!
This texture is extremely versatile and you’ll be reaching for it often. I’ve listed the supplies for my “You Inspire Me” card below, and please visit tomorrow for the third 3-D Basics embossed card!
