New at SU!: Cast a Spell With a Magic Card

We are back to inspire you to try fancy fold & fun interactive cards! The International New at SU! Design Team is going to ignite your imagination…try copying one of our creations, or use what you have to make something similar. You’ll have so much fun trying something new!

While a “Magic Card” isn’t a new idea, it felt like the new Best Witches stamp set was a perfect one to use:

If you’ve never made a Magic Card before, give it a go…it’s immensely fun to pull it out and watch the image magically become colored before your eyes! I’ve created a video tutorial, and you can pause it as you craft along with me:

I’ve listed all the supplies you’ll need at the bottom of the page. Go ahead and pin this post to remind you to try a magic card, then hop on over to the other ingenious card ideas from the other design team demonstrators:

Right Tools for Embossing; a Bewitching Card!

Crafters always want to know where to get an embossing tray like mine, and now you can! The Embossing Additions Tool Kit is available again (for a limited time?) in the July-December mini catalog, and I showcased it today under a little heat…um, I mean heat embossing.

Actually, the air conditioning converter at my house went out, so I was sweating and stamping at the same time! Not to worry, the repairman came after my video and fixed it. But not before I forgot to show you how to use the Reverse Tweezers in the kit. Oh well, the magic of editing helps.

And not only did we emboss, but I showed how to create a mask from the Dots & Spots die for the background! Keep the mask you create in the envelope with the die and I promise, you’ll find excuses to use it often with your blending brushes. The die is one of the products added to Sale-a-Bration in August and you can see the rest of the freebies-with-qualifying purchase HERE.

Just remember that there are two item numbers for the die: Item #159164 for PURCHASING the die, and item #163098 if you want to redeem it free with a $100 purchase during August 2022.

Watch the how-to video, then get shopping to get your Embossing Addition kit while it’s back in the catalog:

Sale-A-Bration is AMAZING

Part TWO of Sale-a-Bration 2022 continues through August! Don’t miss the NEW freebies added for August (at the bottom of the post!)

During Sale-a-Bration, you get EXTRA when you shop, host or join:

Today I’m sharing a tutorial for a card you could create with the AMAZING PHRASING stamp set that you could choose free with a qualifying order during this great time for crafters…and it’s more sparkly in person:

The way the playful fonts work together are going to make it a stamp set you’ll enjoy crafting with for all sorts of reasons. And I’ve created a tutorial for you to download and print, making this card duplicatable in any color of glimmer paper and every combination of sentiments!

Need more ideas with the Amazing Phrasing stamp set? Don’t miss my previous ideas in THIS POST!

Remember that the exclusive Sale-a-Bration products are only while supplies last (and the Tree Lot Dies and Pool Party & Soft Seafoam Cards & Envelopes are sold out). Never fear: There are also NEW choices that have been added from our year-round offerings:

If you want to choose one of these as your freebie-with-purchase in August, REMEMBER to use these item codes:

Polaroid Picture Card: Reverse Masking Technique

It’s easy to miss the Masking Paper in the Stampin’ Up! catalog, and you may not even know why you NEED it, so I’m here to tell you why you do.

It’s like a full sheet of thin post-it note stickiness that allows you to do some pretty cool things with your ink and blending tools. For this card, I made a reverse mask for both the sunset background and the tree with the Masking Paper, then used the Tree Lot Dies from Sale-a-Bration pt. 2 to create the cute little Airstream camper:

Here’s the video tutorial:

The Tree Lot dies are wonderful to use by themselves, and the coordinating stamp set “Trees for Sale” extends the creative possibilities through the holiday season and beyond! Just remember that they are free (while supplies last) through August 2022.

Have a good time trying this technique in your stamping studio and share your version in my Creative Juice Crafter’s Corner Facebook Group!

One-Sheet-Wonder Cards for ANY Occasion

Since I’ve been on vacation for a few weeks, I woke up so excited to get back into my craft room and do a LIVE stamping video on my Facebook page today at lunchtime, and I was able to MULTI-CRAFT for a few occasions: My parent’s 58th Anniversary, to show you a wonderful Sale-a-Bration stamp set AND to participate in the Global Design Project Theme Challenge #GDP351 about SHAPES:

I pulled out the Watercolor Shapes stamp set to create my own patterned paper on a full sheet of white card stock using Fresh Freesia, Soft Sea Foam, Pale Papaya and Pool Party ink pads. Next, I cut the paper into 7 different pieces and layered them on card bases, then I stamped the greetings from the Amazing Phrasing stamp set you could choose as your Sale-a-Bration freebie (with a $100 US order). To give them a bit of bling, I added sparkly Adhesive-Backed Sequins & Gems.

You can watch the full tutorial (and fast forward through me talking) on my Creative Juice by Loni Facebook page HERE because I don’t have time to edit it for YouTube today.

Seven cards from one sheet of patterned paper:

Then I finished one more with a layer of black card stock:

How clever is it to use the gems & rhinestones to create a little exclamation point?!

During Sale-a-Bration you earn free craft supplies when you shop, host a party (yes, I do virtual parties too!) or join my team (and if you are buying more than $99 anyway, the starter kit is the best deal!)

Ladybug Wish Come True

I don’t enjoy bugs crawling on me, but there is a soft spot in my heart (and on my fingers) for ladybugs. They are just the friendliest little creatures, so I don’t mind walking them to the door (if they’ve found their way inside) and giving them a lift to the nearest plant outside. I may even talk to them and tell them how pretty they are.

This little ladybug is adorable on a card:

Here’s a tutorial to get started, and of course, all the supplies can be found in my Stampin’ store!
