My Stampiversary is over, but the last thank you cards need to go into the mail. It seemed only natural to make some “creative juice” cards to encourage the customers who ordered from my Flash Sale to live with ZEST!

Using the words from a stamp set as your background can make a dramatic impact: For this card, I stamped once with my stamp loaded with Lemon-Lime twist ink, then stamped again without re-inking it and then ONE MORE TIME for the lightest impression.

Thanks to the Global Design Project for coordinating the color challenge to support my theme (not really…it was just good luck):

I added a little Daffodil Delight to the palette so I could include the lemon, and now I’m off to write my appreciation to my customers!

In a Small Way…

Part of the Stampin’ Up! Statement of the Heart reads, “…in this we make a difference” and a beloved scriptures reminds me that even when my contribution is small, the Lord can use it for great good: “And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things.” (1 Nephi 16:29)

Wanting to do something to help those affected by the recent storms in the United States, I’ve donated to the Red Cross a portion of my August Commissions and I was grateful that Stampin’ Up! would match my donation (up to $50,000 from demonstrators and customers) so that means our efforts are doubled! This was a perfect opportunity to make a small donation much greater and one more way to celebrate and share the blessings I’ve received from my business over 25 years.

More 25 Year Celebration

25 Years with SU! Gas was $1.05 a gallon. Cartoon Network had just started broadcasting and Bill Clinton became President of the United States (I’m not implying they were connected, but???) I had just given birth to my second child (a son) and was looking for a way to connect and have conversations with other adults, so when my husband ran into LaVonne Crosby as they each took children to the church foyer to calm down and she happened to have a catalog in her car of the company she and her sister had started, my Stampin’ Up! career began!

At the time, Stampin’ Up! carried mostly rubber stamps from other companies with a few they manufactured themselves with a choice between foam mounted rubber or wood blocks. Rainbow stamp pads were extremely popular and we only offered WHITE paper products to stamp on!
