New at SU! Sketch with Hobby Haven

Did you know that NEW PRODUCTS are added to the Stampin’ Up!® Store EVERY MONTH? No more waiting for a catalog launch…there is ALWAYS something NEW at SU!!

Speaking of that, I’m proud to be a part of a creative team of demonstrators from around the globe who share stamping ideas with you every month, focusing on the latest and greatest products from our wonderful company. For December, we’re all following the same CARD SKETCH, and will demonstrate how it can be used with many different Stampin’ Up! products:

This is one of the sketches included in the
2026 January-April Mini Catalog!

My birthday card combines the delightful Hobby Haven Designer Series Paper with the Banner Sayings Bundle (stamps + punch), both of which arrived last month. Apparently some of you knew to look for new items, for the Banner Sayings bundle is backordered until late January, but the good news is you can request an EMAIL NOTIFICATION to be sent to you when any item is back in stock: Just click on it to add to your cart, and enter your address in the pop-up box which alerts you that it’s out of stock.

The Hobby Haven pack of Designer Series Paper includes 2 sheets of pre-cut images, so that made it easy to group all these kitchen/baking items together, along with the kitchen-themed patterned paper. In addition to BAKING, there are patterns and die cut images for SEWING, READING, SELF-CARE, GREEN-THUMBS/PLANTS… all the cozy hobbies!

This card already has a home to go to: It’s for my sister’s birthday in May! She’s an avid & generous baker, and my husband often says if there is such a thing as reincarnation, he wants to come back as her child, just to enjoy her baking 🧁

Drop me a message (comments at the top of post, under date) before moving along to see how Rachael interprets this card sketch!

Go Nuts Birthday Treat Card

If having a sweet tooth is wrong, I don’t want to be right! Admittedly, I do *attempt* to control it, but peanuts are healthy, right? Even in a bit of caramel and nougat?

“Festive Treats” is the TGIF Challenges theme this week- this birthday treat fits for #tgifc548

Here’s a 90-second tutorial, then I’ll write the measurements below:

Card Base: 11″ x 6″, scored at 4-1/4″, 5-1/2″, 6-3/4″ and 8″

Card layer (front and inside: 5-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ with 1/2″ strips to stamp on.

Looking for more treat stamping to share with a sweet tooth? Check out the Candy Bar Books or Gingerbread Cookie Christmas Gifts featured earlier this month on Creative Juice by Loni.

Just 4 days left to take advantage of the Starter Kit Special! Smart Stampers won’t let this amazing shopping deal pass by (with the opportunity to get a discount on your stamping supplies, birthday and holiday gifts through April, 2026!) This offer EXPIRES OCTOBER 31, 2025!

Funny Flamingo Missing Middle Card & Spooky Sweet Events

Halloween is around the corner, but you don’t need to be limited to the Trick or Treat season when crafting with the Stampin’ Up!®️ Spooky Sweet products, and particularly the Designer Series Paper. This sheet has a flamingo dressed in a tutu that I’m going to use on a birthday card:

It’s TOO TOO cute when paired with the Not 29 Anymore stamp set for a card you can send to “THAT FRIEND” who is fiesty & fabulous:

This card is called a “Missing Middle” card, and is easier than it looks: Start with a 4-1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock (mine is Granny Apple Green) and score it at 5-1/2″ and cut it at 7″… leaving you a 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of card stock for the bottom of the card. (All the supplies I used are listed at the bottom)

Fold the top 1-1/2″ down and add a layer of Designer Series Paper, if desired. Lay the section you cut off at the bottom edge of the card, and attach a 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of card stock to the top section and bottom section only. Then it will open like this and you can add a white layer inside to write or stamp on:

My flamingo is layered over a piece of retired Be Dazzling specialty paper, but any of our current Glimmer Paper brings the bling when you need it.

Heading into the Halloween season, there are a few events (online and in-person) you’ll want to know about:

First: The VIRTUAL Spooky Sweet Class happens Thursday, October 2nd, and the last day you can order the suite and be invited to join the class is September 24th! This gives me time to prepare and mail the supplies you’ll need, and for you to have the suite ready to use. Learn more at the event description on Facebook by clicking the image below, or on my event calendar HERE.

Second: Stamping is the best medicine to make you feel good, and you’ll stamp 3 FALL paper crafting projects at our Stamp Therapy sessions in Hurricane, UT on October 9th. Choose to attend the 10 am session or the 6 pm session, but register early, because these seem to fill up quickly. Class fee: $15.

Southern Utah crafters: Here’s another tasty opportunity for more Spooky Sweet crafting at the Cookies, Cards & Cocoa class on Oct. 16th at 6:30 PM at the Strap Tank Restaurant in St. George, UT.

Decorate 4 Halloween sugar cookies and stamp two paper crafting projects, while enjoying a beverage from the restaurant. Class fee: $35 ALL SUPPLIES PROVIDED! Click HERE to register by Oct. 9th

Popcorn Faux Shaker Card

Creative Juice LIVE Crafting (on YouTube & Facebook) IS BACK…with a twist! Going forward, I’ll be going live in my channels at 12:30 p.m. MT ON THE FIRST MONDAY OF EACH MONTH. As I *pop* back into your social feed, I have an a-maize-ing Faux Shaker Card tutorial to share with you in today’s video!

Traditional shaker cards are quite thick, so using a clear envelope to hold the shaker elements makes the card thinner to mail, and easy to make.

Colors used: Darling Duckling, Strawberry Slush and Secret Sea, which are all 2025-2027 In Colors, and an announcement you’ll appreciate is that tomorrow (August 5th) is the beginning of an IN COLOR SALE!

Many In Color products are 15% off through August 31st, and I need to remember to order refills for my ink pads…my shopping list is started.

Without further adieu, here is the VIDEO TUTORIAL for the Faux Shaker Popcorn Birthday card, and you may add the supplies to your cart with the list below the video:

Crafting cards doesn’t get “butter” than this!

Birthday Cupcake Fun-Fold Card

A simple card can be transformed by an easy fun-fold element, and in today’s free tutorial, I’ll show you how to make someone’s birthday brighter!

Behind this simple facade lies a fancy surprise as you open the card:

The Everyday Arches dies are the star of this card, and an essential set of paper crafting tools that belong in every stamper’s arsenal.

Let me know if you like this idea by leaving a comment (top of post, near posting date), order the supplies you need below the button, then download the tutorial and give it a go!

Birthday Jar, Retired For Sale

Sending my gratitude to all who attended the Stampin’ Soiree Open House & BOGO sale last week! If you couldn’t make it, or are looking for some sensational stampin’ STEALS, peruse the updated Retired Items for Sale page. From Stampin’ Up! stamp sets to embossing folders and dies, there are plenty of beloved crafting tools to collect.

I participated in a new catalog/new online product swap with my demonstrator friends, and this was my design for a birthday card using the Online Exclusive Sweet Jar bundle:

I was so sad to say goodbye to the Sketched Plaid background (which someone might snag from my retired items on sale), but gratefully, I can still use the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.

The colors are: Pretty Peacock, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, Strawberry Slush and Lost Lagoon. Embossing the jar lid in silver makes it feel fancy, while the banners from the Nested Essentials Dies brings the party vibe:

If you are planning to participate in the Virtual Crafting Happiness class on May 28th, order the Sweet Jar bundle from my store by the 20th (or alternatively, the Humble Home bundle will work, too) ~ then I can email you a discount code for $5 off the class fee!

A Sketch to Show a Palette

As I prepare for my annual Stampin’ Soiree & BOGO Sale this Saturday (featuring a NEW Stampin’ Up!®️ Catalog and Online Exclusives), I wanted to make a few samples with some of the fresh products coming tomorrow, May 6th! Since multi-tasking is the only way this one-woman show can get things done, I chose a simple sketch, which doubles as a way to show the color palette, and used it for my lunchtime live crafting video, too:

The first card I demonstrated was inspired by the #tgifc523 color challenge of Petnunia Pop, Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight:

Starting simple – no mat on this card (though you certainly could add one), I stamped flowers from a new Online Exclusive bundle, Impressions Abloom on top of the 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ panel, then added 1-3/16″ squares of the colored card stock to the bottom:

When crafting from a sketch, give yourself some freedom to make changes! I didn’t add the palette to the Poppin’ By card, but used the darling filmstrip die to add the border at the bottom:

My favorite thing about this set is probably the tennis shoes you could add to the bucket of popcorn:

Moving along, let’s take that sketch and turn it SIDEWAYS, which is what I did for the Notes & Totes bundle from the new catalog, which I paired with the 2025-2027 In Colors (from bottom to top: Secret Sea, Timid Tiger, Cloud Cover, Darling Duckling & Strawberry Slush):

And finally, I used some Celebration Expressions Memories & More Cards to make this Happy Birthday card, and my friend Barb’s Million Dollar Stamp Set Layered Thoughts, this time putting the color palette below the main panel:

To see me create two of these cards (and share some tips), watch this:

If one of these new items or colors is something you must have, visit my Stampin’ Store starting on May 6th to make an order, or click on the Stampin’ Supplies link under any card you love.

See all these samples IN PERSON – and MORE – at the Stampin’ Soiree, Saturday May 10th in Hurricane, UT. It’s FREE and open-house style, so plan to drop in with a friend between 1-4 pm!

One more announcement: If your wish list is long, the best value for Saavy Stampin’ Shoppers is the STARTER KIT, and starting tomorrow, May 6th, you can choose MORE in your starter kit, with no strings attached!

Sketch & Color Challenge Combo

TUNE IN for a M*A*S*H*U*P of the Stampin’ Up! April 2025 sketch challenge AND the TGIF Color Combination challenge #tgifc519

My beloved Tune In stamp set and dies are retiring (on the Last Chance list NOW), so it seemed like a good time to have a “rerun” and show it off by mixing these two challenges:

Lemon Lolly (and Lemon Lime Twist) are difficult colors to photograph, however you can see that this card gives off retro-vibes and may make you want to make a piece of cinnamon toast and catch up on the Brady Bunch!

Just like classic television, this stamp set will always be groovy to use!

Bistro Burger: Masculine Birthday & Gift Box

A double-patty burger is a satisfying meal for a birthday celebration AND makes a terrific card, thanks to Stampin’ Up!’s Burger Bistro bundle (stamps & dies). In particular, it also pairs well with the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, as you’ll see…

I like coloring this stamped image with our Watercolor Pencils, which you can use without water!

You can watch the tutorial for both card and gift box here:

It’s hard to stop with one card, when the plaid paper makes each card so unique!

A reminder to order any ink refills, card stock, or embellishments in the 2023-2025 In Colors that will be retiring at the beginning of May. I used Boho Blue and Pebbled Path, both leaving soon, on these projects! Often colors sell out long before the last day, so don’t delay.

A useful gift for the man who likes to grill burgers would be a shaker of hamburger seasoning, and this 2-4-6-8 box is just the right size. It’s speedy to make, starting with an 8-1/2″ square piece of card stock (instructions in the video).

SAVE/PIN this post, then give this card and gift box duo a try the next time you need a masculine birthday gift!
