Last Chance to Party (with select products)

Did you miss the opportunity to get the coordinating dies for This Birthday Piggy, Yeti to Party or Apple Harvest stamp set?

Are you a savvy shopper and love stocking up for next year early?

TODAY IS YOUR DAY!

New items have been added to the CLEARANCE RACK **and** the Last Chance list from the July-December catalog is up, with many holiday items on sale up to 60% off. This is not the time to dilly-dally, because when they are gone, they are gone.

I’ll be sharing some projects on social media all day (follow me on FB & Insta), but just for you here, this is a big tag I created a few months ago to go on the dishwasher we replaced for my Mother-in-Love for her birthday & Christmas gift…and if you know Launa, you know she love PIGS and I love having dies to cut out the images from “This Birthday Piggy” stamp set:

I forgot to take a picture of the finished tag on the dishwasher, so all you get is the video!

These coordinating dies will go fast, along with Designer Series Paper and embellishments from the current mini catalog that are deeply discounted, so fill your cart and craft for Christmas.

New at SU: This Piggy is Giving a Gift Card

Giving a gift card makes everyone happy: It’s easy for you to buy, and the recipient gets to choose what they want. But if it seems “impersonal”, the New at SU! design team is here to show you how to make gifting (and getting) a gift card EXCITING!

This Birthday Piggy is scooting in on a gift box that doesn’t even hint at what’s inside:

It’s a charming surprise when you open the box and a gift card pops up:

Don’t worry…it’s a simple box to make and the mechanism is a piece of (birthday) cake! Let me show you how:

This is my fancy project sketch and dimensions (bold lines are where you will cut). It may help as you follow along with the video tutorial (feel free to pause the video as you learn). You can get both pieces from one sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ card stock.

Once your box is assembled and decorated, simply attach your gift card to the front panel of the pop-up piece using a few glue dots!

I’ll list the supplies below and am happy to serve you if you are in the U.S. and don’t have a demonstrator. Now make sure you hop along to see the other clever gift card holders our International creative team are sharing…click a link below:

Right Tools for Embossing; a Bewitching Card!

Crafters always want to know where to get an embossing tray like mine, and now you can! The Embossing Additions Tool Kit is available again (for a limited time?) in the July-December mini catalog, and I showcased it today under a little heat…um, I mean heat embossing.

Actually, the air conditioning converter at my house went out, so I was sweating and stamping at the same time! Not to worry, the repairman came after my video and fixed it. But not before I forgot to show you how to use the Reverse Tweezers in the kit. Oh well, the magic of editing helps.

And not only did we emboss, but I showed how to create a mask from the Dots & Spots die for the background! Keep the mask you create in the envelope with the die and I promise, you’ll find excuses to use it often with your blending brushes. The die is one of the products added to Sale-a-Bration in August and you can see the rest of the freebies-with-qualifying purchase HERE.

Just remember that there are two item numbers for the die: Item #159164 for PURCHASING the die, and item #163098 if you want to redeem it free with a $100 purchase during August 2022.

Watch the how-to video, then get shopping to get your Embossing Addition kit while it’s back in the catalog:

Retirement Parade: So Long, Sweet Peach!

The New at SU! Design Team is bringing you a POP-UP PARADE featuring some of the products we have loved and are sad to see leave as the Retiring List for the Annual Catalog has been released. These items are only while supplies last, so don’t miss your opportunity to order them!

I chose to spotlight my beloved Sweet as a Peach Suite. The Designer Series Paper! The Stamps! The Dies! They have inspired so much creativity in my studio and this is actually the pop-up birthday card I made and sent my team members over the past 12 months:

It opens up to an EXPLOSION of peaches and birthday wishes:

It’s easy to make this explosion insert: Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 6″ x 6″ and fold in half, then open it up and fold it in half DIAGONALLY in the opposite direction. Unfold it again, tuck the diagonal folds inside and glue the square pieces on the outside of the mechanism to the inside of the card. TIP: Observe the direction of your patterned paper and insert it into your card with the patterns going the right direction.

The best way it fits in your card is by making a binding on the top (or side, depending on orientation) of your card. For this card, I used a piece of 11″ x 4-1/4″ card stock scored at 5-1/2″ and 6-1/2″, then tied that shut with a piece of linen twine, with the second score on the top side of your card to help it open well. It makes the opening smaller than a traditional card and the explosion piece fits nicely inside.

The Sweet as a Peach Bundle (stamps + dies) is on sale through March 21st for 20% off in the Savings are In Bloom sale (along with the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine that the dies fit in), so now is the time to collect it for your craft stash! Retiring items are only while supplies last.

You are now ready to travel through the rest of the Retirement Parade! Hop through all the gorgeous retiring product projects below ~ you won’t want to miss any of the other “last chance” products we’ve loved and collect the fabulous ideas shared!

If you want to add these products to your craft studio before they are gone, you may order them from your demonstrator. Don’t have a demonstrator? Click the links below to shop from my Stampin’ Store!

Isn’t that adorable? And it’s super simple to make.

I though it would also be fun to make a gift pouch from the Stampin’ Up! Pillow Boxes with these cute kats:

It’s the right size for a gift card and candy bar, or jewelry and other small gifts!

What’s New at SU! Birthday Dies

Whats new (2)

Paper crafters love nothing more than Co-ordination: We swoon for ribbon in Stampin’ Up! colors, we sigh over designer series papers that match our punches and we are head-over-heels when we have dies for stamped images so we don’t have to cut them out!

It’s February and our group of demonstrator friends from around the world are showcasing the NEW SU! Product Coordination release items and we are hoppin’ with excitement to share these projects with you!

The Birthday Dies were designed to coordinate with the Happy Birthday to You Sale-a-Bration Stamp set (which you could choose free with a $50 order before March 31, 2020). Notice the leaf dies: There are TWO leaves on ONE die! This is a great improvement, as tiny dies are too fiddly for me and having two of them together makes them much easier to use!

IMG_4637-(W)My project is a remake of one of my favorite gift packaging because our Acetate Card boxes are perfect for holding a mug cake mix. It’s sort of a “bake-your-own-birthday-cake” gift!

IMG_4640-(W)It’s a pretty, frilly & feminine project, and even though I did end up fussy cutting the sentiment, the dies helped the rest of it come together quickly.

IMG_4639-(W)These are products you will NOT want to wait to order because they are only available while supplies last and since they match some of our most popular items from the current Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration 2020, they are sure to fly off the shelves.

The supplies I used are listed below, and I’d love to hear what you think of this birthday box so before you hop along to the Anke’s blog next (or back to Diane’s project),  leave a comment then keep hoppin’ for more product coordination inspiration!

Birthday Bash with the (big) Girls

Who said getting older isn’t fun?

IMG_2850

This group of my long-time crafty friends know how to party! It was Sarajane’s birthday and she wanted to spend time creating with her friends, so I was pleased to oblige and planned a celebration that centered on CAKE!

“Those who craft together, stay together” and these ladies prove it: They have stamped, scrapbooked, quilted and crafted for MANY years.

IMG_2855-(W)

All their projects used the Piece of Cake stamp set and Cake Builder Punch…I think the piece de resistance was the cake push pop: It was a show stopper!

IMG_2857

Thanks for letting me celebrate your SWEET LIFE, Sarajane!

If you want to plan a birthday party with me, contact me the month before your big day and let’s make it FUN!

Stop to Smell the Roses

Gardening is NOT a talent I possess. My husband is the green thumb and loves getting his hands in the dirt…and I let him. When it comes to the roses (and the last three homes we’ve lived in have multiple rosebushes), they are the exception: I do enjoy pruning and cultivating the bushes to keep them healthy and producing blossoms that grace my table as long as it’s blooming season.

To a Wild Rose stamp set was designed by Million Dollar Demonstrator Mary Ellen Byler and is a Distinktive 2- or 3-step stamp set, enabling you to get many different looks with one stamp set, so we can enjoy roses all year long!149452g

This set has a coordinating set of Wild Rose dies. Through June 2, 2020, you save 10% when you buy the bundle (stamps and dies together)

One night I played around with color combinations for these flowers: You can see that I stamped the boldest rose image in the lighter color with the highlights in a darker color over the top. When you add the outline image, it gives it a completely different look. Which do you like best: With or without the outline? savingPNG 5

I needed some new birthday cards for my team, so I started with just the first two images and stamped these cards (added the outline on the envelope): savingPNG 6

If you are part of my team…pretend to be surprised when your birthday card arrives!

Then I decided that it would look gorgeous on Very Vanilla card stock, too so I tried it with the detail image and they both are abso-bloomin’-lutely gorgeous cards:

Give My Regards to Broadway

My husband and I recently experienced New York City for the first time with our daughter and it was a surprisingly wonderful experience. From biking around Central Park to the Statue of Liberty, we painted the town for 3 days (and I found some creative juice)!

My favorite part had to be Broadway, though. I began my college career with the intent of studying musical theater, so that has a place in my heart. We only had time to see one show and we chose “Dear Evan Hansen”.

Do NOT miss the opportunity to see this incredible musical (by the same guys who wrote Greatest Showman) if you get the chance: But don’t make the mistake I did of going without a box of kleenex. And I *ugly cried*.

Today I wanted to pay tribute to that amazing vacation with a stamp, of course! So here’s one you are going to love playing with: The Broadway Bound suite from Stampin’ Up!

Watermarked(2018-06-10-0832)

This project was also inspired by the the #tgifc163 sketch challenge:

Know what else is TOTALLY AWESOME about the Broadway Bound suite? The June Paper Pumpkin Kit is going to coordinate with it!

05.11.18_JUNE-BROADWAY_IMAGE-SHAREABLE2_US

Did you notice the “subscribe by” date? Yep, that’s TODAY. So if you are reading this after June 10th, you may have to cross your fingers that they have some kits left that they will post for sale around June 26th…but you still have to be a subscriber to order them, so what are you waiting for?
