Gift a Cookie

Need a sweet, inexpensive birthday gift for a neighbor, co-working or friend? Use the mini pizza boxes from Stampin’ Up! to put a cookie in as a single serving birthday cake!

They are food safe, with a glossy coating on the inside so your treat won’t soak through the box:

Your cookie will probably look better than mine, but it was the LAST cookie in my house. I would have taken another picture, but I was hungry, so I ate it. Don’t judge.

With this little all-in-one-gift, the card is on top of the box, like this:

It’s super simple to make, too!

Birthday in the Making

Perhaps I’m in a small percentage of the population, but I enjoy wrapping gifts! I even started my paper business by selling wrapping paper (if you remember me doing that, then we’ve been friends for a LONG time).

I also love a good bargain: So when one stamp set that you *thought* was just for Christmas can do double-duty, then it’s a bargain, right?

I switched up the colors to be more birthday celebration than holiday, but this little lady looks like she could be wrapping up a perfect pile of presents for someone turning one year older!

Add a pair of sentiments from the Special Celebrations stamp set and a cheerful Berry Burst bow and you are ready to mail off a very happy greeting card!

You can order the supplies to make this card from my Stampin’ Store while supplies last, as the Christmas in the Making stamp set is a last chance item and will not be available after January 2, 2018.

Sweet Cupcake CASE

In the world of stamping, to CASE means to “Copy and Share Everything”: This lines up nicely with the quote, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” which ironically enough, is attributed to both Oscar Wilde and Charles Caleb Colton…so clearly, one of them was imitating the other!

Which brings us to my project today: This week’s Global Design Project Challenge #GDP100 was to “CASE the Designer” and there are many creations worthy of copying, but I was immediately drawn to the adorable colors and simplicity of Allison’s Coffee Cafe card: alisonglobaldesignproject

I’m not a coffee drinker, but would love a pink hot cocoa cup with a dollop of whipped cream!

To CASE her card, I put my own spin on a treat using the Sweet Cupcake stamp set (one of our photo-realistic 3-step stamps) and demonstrated this project on my weekly Facebook Lunchtime Crafting LIVE:

50= 5 Perfect 10’s

Aunt MaryLynn always told me 50 was her perfect age: “You’re young enough to do whatever you want and old enough you don’t give a darn about what others think” (paraphrased).

So I’ve been looking forward to this birthday for a long time!, and yesterday did not disappoint!

It started with an early morning walk with my husband and our dog, Tiger. We tried out the new exercise machines along the Spanish Fork River Trail:

Then it was off to Cowboy donuts to cancel out the exercise! We ran into my friend Jerry and his son Aram there and they sang to me:

Next stop, Salt Lake Airport where Kamryn and I picked up Kiersta who flew in from Maryland and met her niece Haley for the first time.

Back home to go to lunch with Cody (a.k.a. Grandpa) where I forgot to take a picture, then we left the baby with Grandpa and picked up Whitney for a girls pampering day of pedicures, cupcakes and massages:

But the party wasn’t over yet, we met up with the rest of the family for dinner at Tucahno’s in Provo and games at Kayson’s house, which of course, I didn’t remember to take any pictures of!

And no birthday would be complete without hand-stamped cards…here are just a few from my wonderful friends, and I will share more on my Facebook page~ A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

One of the COOLEST things about the Birthday Memories Suite of products is that not only do the framelit dies cut out the stamped images…they also CUT OUT THE IMAGES ON THE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!! That’s how I cut out the cupcake girl for my bag: No Fussy Cutting required!

Cheers to 50 Years!

Hello July! This month is my birthday month, but let it be known that I’m NOT turning 50:

I’m 18 with 32 years of experience!!!

However, many of my friends *ARE* reaching this fabulous age, so it is time to make a few cards to commemorate their “experience” and the color challenge over at the Global Design Project seemed spectacularly celebrational.

Label Me Pretty In Color

Folks who have had near-death experiences say that there are more colors in Heaven than we can imagine: That’s something I look forward to! Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy the new In Colors that Stampin’ Up! releases each year.

This year the colors are (clockwise from top left): Berry Burst, Lemon-Lime Twist, Fresh Fig, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide. Even the names evoke images in the color they describe!

Label Me Pretty

I’ve created a tutorial for you and the cool thing about it is that you can make 40 cards from the few supplies in just a few hours (or one hour with a friend)! To order any of the supplies, click on the images below:
