Branches & Pines: Swap Card for BackStage

There are so many things I’ve learned while being a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator beyond rubber stamping: This marvelous company was the first to train me on Crucial Conversations (which I’ve invested in three times since then), leadership and time management skills, self-care, communication, and most recently I’ve returned from #StampinUpBackStage (our leadership conference) in Las Vegas, where we learned to connect more meaningfully with our creative communities. What a blessing to have the personal development opportunity to help me grow into the best version of myself, so I can serve YOU!

Of course, no stamping event would be complete without a little swapping, but I was afraid I wouldn’t have time to make any cards to exchange…the night before I left, I MADE time to craft 20 cards. I used the cutting guide/template I shared in September and the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper paired with the Branching Out bundle, which coordinated quite nicely:

It was delightful to share my cards with others, and receive many lovely hand-stamped creations in return, so the las-minute midnight stamping session paid off!

While not a holiday card, it has the feel of the season, and would make an excellent birthday or wedding card for someone celebrating during the winter:

If you are here to learn card-making skills, I’d love to send you a THANK YOU card when you order supplies from my Stampin’ Store! Make sure you OPT IN for REWARDS (earn 10% of your purchase back to save or spend next time) AND OPT IN to allow me to contact you!

Ready to embark on your own Stampin’ Up! personal adventure as a demonstrator? You will be loved and cherished in the Sprinkled Ink team, my demonstrator family!

Mix and match card stock to coordinate with the colors in the paper, and use any embellishments that you need to use up 😉

Fluffy Squirrel Birthday & Sprinkled Ink Swaps

The art my teammates create is astounding! The Sprinkled Inkers (and friends) host a card swap for each new print publication, including new Online Exclusives. Michelle snapped these photos and I wanted to brag on the creators:

There were fun folds we learned in a virtual team meeting, gift card holders, tags, layers, specialty paper, ornaments, fun folds, embossing… all the creative ideas you collect by being a stamper! I’m so proud of these demonstrators, and there is ROOM IN OUR FAMILY FOR YOU!

For 31 days in October, there are two fabulous starter kit offers, and there is no reason you shouldn’t give take advantage of one of these two unbelievable deals:

As part of my team, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the best card swaps EVER, and be embraced by a community of creatives you didn’t know you needed.

This was my card for the swap – just in time for Fall birthdays!

This playful card pairs the Stampin’ Up!®️ Fluffy Squirrel bundle (stamps & punch) with the Everyday Arches dies for an autumnal birthday greeting. The embossed background adds texture behind the sweet squirrels—one bringing a gift and the other gathering acorns. Turning the arches sideways adds to their versatility! A touch of twine and soft ink blending finish it off, making this card a charming way to celebrate someone’s day of birth in October or November.

Leaf Collection Thinking of You Card

Made for Mexico

It’s *FINALLY TIME* and hopefully I’m sitting on the beach as you read this! One of the last things I did to prepare for the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip was to create swaps, and thought you might like to see my card:

I used the Leaf Collection stamp we received as an all-attendee giveaway at OnStage last month to emboss a Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock background onto Shy Shamrock card stock. The stamp arrives on WEDNESDAY, May 1st in my Stampin’ Store! The ink stayed wet just long enough to cover it in clear embossing powder:

See that new color on the card base? It’s called “Basic Beige”

I added the sentiment in the Hexagon punch and a few leaves and sprigs using the Bough Punch and a sweet bow (if I made it, it probably has ribbon on it).

Looking forward to sharing more about our Mex-capade…when I have the time! And because I’m supposed to say this about earning the Incentive trip: “Results are not typical. Fewer than 1% of Demonstrators world-wide achieve this reward”

THANK YOU for your support and orders from my Stampin’ Store. I hope the value, teaching, and service offered to my friends & customers is equal to my deepest heart-felt appreciation!

Card Swaps + Your Time to Shine!

Stampers LOVE to exchange handmade cards! We swap our creations at any Stampin’ Up! event and my Sprinkled Ink team (& friends) are hands-down the BEST group to swap with (I’ve participated in a TON of swaps in 31 years, and they are better than all of them).

Would you like to see their talents? I thought so!

This was our September-December Mini Catalog Swap… you may have seen some of these cards if you’ve attended an event with me in the past few months:

Aren’t they spectacular? There are fun folds, embossing, foil paper, background stamps, die cuts, rubber stamping, Designer Series Paper and techniques galore to share with our customers and be inspired by. I’m certainly going to make a version of Robin’s fun fold and order the embossing folder Michelle used!

This was the card I crafted for the swap using the Curved Occasions stamp set (click link below card for stampin’ supplies):

We swap cards each time a new catalog launches, which means our next swap will be in January. As demonstrators, we get to pre-order from the publication the month before…it’s a nice perk!

Speaking of perks, there are 7 days left to take advantage of the 35th Anniversary Starter Kit Special! This is your chance to get a divine discount on crafting supplies AND see if you want to SHINE as a demonstrator!

There are no strings attached to the purchase of a starter kit, and you’ll get 20% off your future purchases through April 2024 (or forever, if you decide to stay with the Sprinkled Inkers as a hobby or business demonstrator!).

In addition, you’ll get a free ticket to OnStage@Home (our virtual Stampin’ Up! convention) on November 11th…it will be an amazing peek at the goings-on in the life of a demonstrator, and will give you insight into the possibilities of a bright future.

Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to swap cards with our friendly demonstrator family, participate in events and creative challenges, learn and grow personally and creatively, plus gain a new tribe of very talented, kind and supportive people! Why not??

Shoebox Swap – Cards, Not Shoes!

At the Sprinkled Ink Retreat last weekend, we participated in a Shoebox Swap, but that doesn’t mean we exchanged empty shoeboxes 😜

Each demonstrator brought a #simplestamping card (some were not so simple!) and had all the pieces cut and prepared for everyone else to make, in a box (about the size of a shoebox, hence the name). We passed boxes around the table and you would make one as it came to you. It was a **flurry** of activity for a few hours…

Who knew crafting could feel like a workout? We were exhausted – but happy stampers! – by the time we finished 15 cards.

For my card, I used the Berry Harvest Background stamp and a sentiment from the Apple Harvest stamp set.

Want to make this card? Here’s how simple it is:

  1. Place background stamp face up and ink it with Soft Seafoam ink. Then dip a sponge dauber into Highland Heather ink and daub it onto the stamp where the berries are.
  2. Lay a 3″ x 4″ piece of Soft Seafoam card stock on top of the stamp, cover it with scrap paper and rub to transfer the image.
  3. Cut the stamped card into 1″ pieces on a paper trimmer and adhere in same order to front of Basic White 8.5″ x 5.5″ card using dimensionals, leaving a small space between each panel.
  4. Stamp sentiment on white scrap in Highland Heather ink and adhere to right panel(s).
  5. Add small bow of white twine on a glue dot.

Here’s a quick look at all the cards we created that night! WOW!

Just a reminder- ANY DAY is a great day to join my Sprinkled Ink Family and start your own Stampin’ Up! journey, but TODAY (June 30, 2023) is the LAST DAY of the Starter Kit+ Promotion. There is no risk to give it a try…and I am here to help you get the most from your experience! Click the image to get going:

A Card Good Enough to Eat

Have you ever wished you had a card on hand to lift the spirits of a friend? If you answered yes, let this one be the one you always have in your box!

These remind me of the “In case of emergency, break glass” cases: Sometimes acting like a grown up is difficult, and we all know CHOCOLATE helps. So you may need to break one of these open at any moment.

The cards are also the SWAPS I made for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local. I’m headed to Anaheim this weekend for our annual convention (OnStage) and demonstrators always swap cards at events; make multiples of the same card and trade with other demonstrators so you have a wide variety of samples to inspire you when you get home!

Though they are simple, they are certainly SWEET!

Stamp a stack to keep in stock, but don’t eat all the chocolate! Here’s what you’ll need:

Stitched Stampers Card Swaps

Whenever a new catalog debuted, my demonstrator friends participate in a card swap. I’ve been a part of many swaps, and I think our group (the Stitched Stampers~ a society of stampers including my Sprinkled Ink team and other demonstrator friends) has the BEST crafters! Even new stampers expand their creativity and abilities by exchanging cards and seeing how to improve.

Each person designs one card and makes multiples of the same card to trade. These were the fabulous creations from our last swap:

(My swap was the 🍑 Peach card I shared in this post)

It’s a nice perk that demonstrators get to order before a catalog goes live, and our stamping friends truly enjoy exchanging ideas! There is always room for you: Would you like to join us?

What’s the Occasion?

One of the simple pleasures of life is pulling an envelope from your mailbox that has your name and address hand-written on it and seeing the name of a friend in the upper corner. There is so much excitement that you forget everything else in your hands and want to rip it open, or perhaps save it to savor later.

With the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, you have a whole world of opportunities to create a small mailable piece of art that might just carry a piece of your heart to a friend. Here are a few ideas gleaned from a recent card swap I participated in:

The next holiday may be Valentines, but hearts can be used for SO MUCH MORE than February 14th! Think of this card as one to send as an encouragement to a friend or an “I forgive you” when someone has made a sincere apology. The Painted with Love Suite has everything you need for greetings filled with love.  (Card by Laura Milligan)

Friends are the flowers of our lives~ let them know you appreciate them every day (not just on milestone occasions). The rich texture on this card is sumptuous! It’s created with products from the Petal Passion Suite that is fabulous for many other occasions such as weddings, congratulations and grateful giving. (Card by Terri Gaines)

Did you know 7 BILLION greeting cards sold in the United States each year and over half of them are birthday cards? Make your birthday greeting stand out with a sparkling creation like this gorgeous gem using the Sweet Soiree Suite. (Card by Megan Herst).
