In Color Spotlight: Bermuda Bay

Ahhh, Bermuda Bay is the essential color of summer and I LOVE both the color AND this new stamp, Medallion. I tried putting a greeting on it, but it just doesn’t need it 🙂 The Bermuda Bay patterned paper is found in the “Thoroughly Modern” Designer Series Paper package. Simple? Yes. Beautiful? Definitely.

In-Color Spotlight: Crushed Curry

Flashback to the colors of the 70’s: Crushed Curry brings back happy memories of Tupperware parties, the music of the Carpenters and shag carpeting! Paired with black, it felt like my great-grandma’s kitchen:Paint with a little bleach and it will wash out the color, then pull out the sewing machine for the detail on the side! I’m off to see Harry Potter! See you tomorrow…

Edit: Sorry I forgot to say that this set is a new Hostess Level 1 set, Country Morning!

In-Color Spotlight: Rich Razzleberry

I pulled out the Big Shot to make this card to showcase the Rich Razzleberry In-Color: the flowers are created using the Manhattan Impressions Folder. These flowers definitely make a great “impression”! The grosgrain ribbon is actually polka-dotted on one side this year, but I felt like the elegance of the flowers needed just the plain side of the ribbon. Add a saying from the Sincere Salutations set and it is simply beautiful.
I wish I could send out a card to everyone who has been supportive and loving recently…for now, enjoy the “virtual” card and my deep gratitude. Friends are truly the flowers in the garden of life!

Spotlight on NEW In-Colors: DUSTY DURANGO

Being a girl originally from Dixie and with the rich sandstone dirt of my home firmly stuck between my toes, I always need a little of this color in my life. I painted my basement family room this color as an homage to “home” and all the kids know that I’d love a car in this same hue. I’d call it “Rusty Pumpkin”, but Stampin’ Up! has named it DUSTY DURANGO and it’s one of the new ’09-’10 In Colors! This card was created with the new Animal Stories set…isn’t that an adorable giraffe?
I’m planning on posting a mono-chromatic card each day this week showcasing our new In-Color line, so come on back to visit!

Toodle-oo, Doodle This

There is only ONE WEEK left to order the retiring stamp sets, and here are a few samples from another versatile retiring set, Doodle This. To add the all-over-sparkle on this card (and the one from the Heartfelt Thanks set I shared last week), simply stamp your image and color it in, then lay your card stock face down onto a Versamark Pad, covering the whole area. Add Iridescent Ice embossing powder to cover, shake off the excess and heat. And this technique is called “Crayon Resist”: Use Stampin’ Up! glossy white paper, stamp images in black ink and let dry. Next, use a white crayon and “doodle” anywhere you want white to appear. Finally, sponge classic ink over the images with a sponge or sponge dauber, then wipe card with a tissue for the white to POP OUT:
