Bee Mine Catalog CASE + 2024 Paper Share Open NOW!

Stampin’ Up! catalogs are the first place I look for crafting inspiration! Today I “CASED” a card from the 2023-2024 Annual catalog, but used a completely different set of products!

This was my inspiration (from page 101 of the catalog and the Seaside Bay stamp set):

The “Bee Mine Valentine” suite will arrive on January 4, 2024 for customers, and demonstrators got to pre-order it (a lovely perk of joining!), so I used the stamps, punch, ribbon and Designer Series Paper from the suite of products to copy the layout above. Here’s my version:

The face on that bee just makes me giggle. I imagine he feels like I do occasionally when I tell my husband, “I’ll always love you, I just don’t like you right now.”

Rather than stamping the background, I used a piece of the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper. It’s adorable bees, flowers and honey images on one side are complemented by the opposite side by whimsical, brightly colored designs.

Patterned paper is one of those crafting staple products that help make every project perfect, and you may want a piece of EVERY design in the new mini catalog…don’t worry, I’VE GOT YOU!

  • 48 6″x6″ pieces of Designer Series Paper: One of EACH paper in the mini catalog, including specialty papers!
  • Only $22 shipped to you (U.S. addresses only) or $18 if you pick up from me in Hurricane, UT.
  • Deadline to reserve your paper share: January 6th, 2024

Here’s the 15-minute video of how I CASED my card layout from the catalog (faster, if you change the speed in the settings!)

Watch for details coming soon about a virtual class where you can use the BEE MINE bundle -OR- stamps you may already have!

Need paper crafting ideas? Look no further than any Stampin’ Up! catalog!

In today’s live video, I demonstrated how to use the So Very Merry stamp set to re-create cards made with the Circle Sayings bundle (if you have one, you *need* the other!).

The card on the left is found on page 147 of the annual catalog and the card on the right is the one I stamped:

Let me show another example. Card on left from catalog, card on right I created to show you how well these two sets interchange!

In my Angel version of the cupcake card from the catalog, the More Dazzle paper is truly heavenly, and I embossed the angel image on Vellum cardstock in gold embossing powder, then colored it from the back with Stampin’ Blends markers. TIP: To adhere the vellum to the white background, lightly sponge liquid glue to the back of the vellum for a no-show adhesive.

With two days left of our 35th Anniversary Starter Kit promotion, you may consider getting the starter kit for 35% off -OR- choosing 35% more in the starter kit ($168.75 product value) for the regular price of $99…and if you don’t know what to choose, these two interchangeable sets/bundles are a good place to begin, plus you can copy the cards I showed! More Starter Kit suggestions in the video:

Happy you stopped by! Have you ever copied an idea from the catalog and put your own “stamp” on it?

New at SU!- An Irresistible C.A.S.E.

As we wind down the 2022-2023 catalog, the New at SU! global design team wanted to show you how your catalogs (and mini catalogs!) are a TREASURE TROVE of inspiration! We are CASING (CASE = Copy And Stamp Everything) the January-April mini catalog to show you that the samples can give you a jumping off point for your own original designs.

I chose to copy the layout of this slimline Sea Turtle card on page 29 of the J-A Mini catalog:

This is my version, using stamps, dies and paper from the Hello, Irresistible Suite, with a twist on the color combination:

Are you getting the idea of how to turn a picture of a sample card into your own creation?

This slimline card is 7″ x 6″, scored along the 7″ side at 3.5″ and fits into a regular envelope (stamped, of course).

I thought the Soft Sea Foam leafy Designer Series Paper paired sweetly with Fresh Freesia 3-D flowers! There are two sizes of flower stamps in the set, so I stamped and die cut both sizes, then fussy cut out the center of another to scrunch up and layer on top of each other.

Add soft sponging to the leaves, a heat embossed greeting and pretty details like ribbon & pearls to dress up this celebratory greeting card.

All the supplies are listed below the roll call. Don’t be worried if some of the suite products are out of stock…you can purchase most of them individually or they will all be back together soon! If you don’t have a U.S. demonstrator, I’m delighted to serve you, or find a demonstrator in a different country in our hop:

New at SU! Case the Catalog Cactus Cuties

This month we are having so much fun expanding our creativity by getting inspiration from the Annual Catalog in our hop around the world! When you “Copy And Selectively Edit” – or CASE – a project from the catalog, you’ll expand your crafting ideas in ways you never dreamed of.

For instance, I was inspired by THIS card on page 157 of the Annual Catalog using the All for Baby bundle:

Using the Cactus Cuties from the January-June Mini catalog, this is my project inspired by that one:

It was surprisingly easier than I imagined! Here HOW TO:

  • On a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of basic white card stock, mask off the card at 1.75″ using washi or painters tape. Use a blending brush to add Pale Papaya ink to the first panel, getting lighter as you move up the card. Repeat and mask off the Papaya side AND farther down the card at 3.5″ for Soft Succulent. Then mask the first two colors and blend on Misty Moonlight.
  • Lay the mask over the card front and use a sponge dauber to color the pattern over the same colors. You may want to keep a mask over the other sections so you don’t get the colors mixed, but I just eyeballed it! It will help to tape the mask down on your desk so it doesn’t move and your card under the mask.
  • Stamp and fussy cut cactus. I used the punch only for the flowers.

Isn’t that just FUN? I had a blast making this card, truly!

Now you can now move on to Annette’s post to see how she was inspired by the annual catalog to create her project with the Symbols of Fortune suite from the January-June catalog. I hope this helps you look at the catalog as an Idea Book every day.
