We Need a Little Citrus

You’re up to your neck in Christmas, but what is Christmas without an orange in the stocking? Or in this instance, a whole case of citrus fruit?

This was another situation where the inspiration woke me up early to create a card! The Global Design Project #gdp372 challenge was to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a project by Kayla McCreadie:

I reached for my new signature stamp set (coming in the January 2023 Mini catalog!) SWEET CITRUS:

With a coordinating Hybrid Embossing Folder and dies, I guarantee you are going to see a LOT of this set from me!

Lest you think it’s not timely for the holiday season, let me show you a Christmas card I showed in yesterday’s live video: This one features a sentiment from the Cozy & Bright Kit currently available in my Stampin’ Store…and highly recommend you collect this kit before it’s gone, so you can use the sentiments from the kit with the Sweet Citrus bundle next year, plus, it’s a very easy kit to assemble and could still afford you time to send Christmas Cards this year.

In addition to the Sweet Citrus bundle (which will be available on January 5th…or you can join my team and order it now!), these are the supplies I used for the Christmas Card:

May you squeeze the most from the holidays, and look forward to this bundle at the beginning of the new year!

Update 12/12/22: I’m a #gdpwinner !!

Have Yourself a CHERRY Little Christmas

It’s jolly good fun to wander through the aisles of Dollar Tree and imagine ways to use some of the festive treasures they carry as home decor or gifts! When I saw these cute little packages of 3 Cherry Cordials (which evoke Christmas memories from my childhood), I remembered my Stampin’ Up! Cherry Builder punch and the creative juice started flowing…

It was KISMET that I found the perfect sentiment in the Framed & Festive Limited Edition stamp set, and the idea was taking shape! In fact, I created this simple “dress up” project in my Monday Live video, which you can watch quickly here:

You can alter the design just a bit and put it on a larger box of Cordial Cherries, as well:

PSSST…tomorrow (December 1st) is the beginning of our LAST CHANCE sale on items from the July-December mini catalog (along with NEW things added to the clearance rack) and the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper that I used on the small cherry boxes will be on sale for 60% off, while supplies last, so set an alarm to shop the sale early!

Santa’s Delivery: Holiday Decor

Over the weekend, I participated in the First Annual Kane County Crafter’s Convention in Kanab, Utah and had so much fun playing in the “Location for Creation”, as my friend Seana Johnson coined it! Seana coordinated a wickedly wonderful 1st event with Create Room, Stampin’ Up! and the Kane County Office of Tourism as sponsors, and it was an dream escape for all who attended:

My teammate Sue Stratton and I designed and prepared 8 paper crafting projects for the guests, and this was the Holiday Decor piece I created as a project for the event participants:

You can find the tray at Dollar Tree, and it makes the ideal frame for a holiday scene! Because the Santa’s Train dies can die cut the stamped images OR the images from the Santa’s Express Designer Series Paper, I demonstrated a slightly different version in my video today:

While I’m still working to get the WHOLE video to post correctly on YouTube, you can catch a second version on my Facebook Page Video, if needed.

It’s just as cute when using the Designer Series Paper:

If you choose to create this version, here’s what you’ll need (and thanks for letting me supply your creative needs!):

Christmas Choo-Choo Card + October Announcements

This week’s TGIF Challenge #tgifc388 was a tricky one indeed! A card WITHOUT a sentiment?! Who does that?

I couldn’t even wrap my head around it, until I found a loophole: No sentiment…on the FRONT.

Inspired by a project my friend Sue designed for our Fall StampFest, I pulled out the SANTA EXPRESS suite and die cut images from the Designer Series Paper to follow my “train” of thought:

See? No sentiment! Even the signpost has stars instead of words.

But untie the top and extend it out and the rest of the idea follows:

NOW we are cooking with coal! Isn’t that adorable? The only thing I did stamp was the sentiment, then punched it out with the Label Me Lovely punch and attached them all with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Some folks like to create cards without a sentiment on the front so they may add the appropriate words when they need to use it. For me, it’s like singing a familiar song and STOPPING just before the last word! The suspense just *hangs* in the air until the final note is sung.

Hopefully, this card meets the requirements AND finishes the last note, once opened. I’ve listed the supplies after the announcements.

HEY! If you read all the way through on the day this post was published (Tuesday, October 4th), I’ve got one more surprise for you: FREE SHIPPING on orders over $75 today only! Start with a Sketch: Sweet Candy Canes

If your stumped about how to start a card, start with a sketch!

On my Facebook Live Lunchtime Crafting video today, I followed the #tgifc381 sketch:

And here is the card I created, using the Sweet Candy Canes bundle:

Following a sketch really gets me excited because you can start with what you have and make something completely unique!

Christmas Scottie Card

I know it’s only July, but summertime is the BEST time to get your Christmas cards stamped and ready for a busy holiday season…and you needed to see how adorable this new bundle in the July-December Mini catalog is!

Of course a coordinating punch is a tool I love, and this one just begs to be loved! I actually created this card for my team card swap (we have a swap with each new publication) and by working assembly-line style, I made 14 cards in less than 2 hours, and watched a movie while working, so it was an enjoyable way to spend a day!

Seasons of Fun: Host with the Most!

When a stamp set works for more than one holiday, it’s a great investment…and when you can get it at a discount, that’s a no brainer!

The Seasons of Fun stamp set is one you can choose as part of your Stampin’ Rewards for just $12 when you host a party!

Did you know that an order of $150 or more COUNTS as a party? That’s right…you don’t have to invite people over to qualify for the benefits of hosting, you can just gather orders or place your own qualifying order in my Stampin’ Store.

With this set of cards, I used the SAME LAYOUT and made a card for Halloween, Fall and Christmas. Because the Seasons of Fun stamp set doesn’t have any words, I paired it with the very versatile Banner Year stamp set for the greetings:

Turn the layout and add strips of Designer Series Paper instead of just one piece:

Or swap sides:

Aren’t these kids the cutest? It’s fun to color them with Stampin’ Blends and easy to celebrate all the Fall-idays.

This host-exclusive set is only available during the current mini catalog period…one more reason to host a party (or place a qualifying order) before the Seasons of Fun stamp set retires on January 3, 2022. I’ll help you host an event online or in your home ~ let’s plan it!

New at SU!: Be Merry Card & Bag

Warm Holiday Wishes~ We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with Holiday Crafting ideas to share with you!

During GIFTING season, use your stampin’ supplies to package a pretty present:

Adding a card to the outside of a gift bag dresses it up and this one really rings with good cheer.

Did you know Stampin’ Up!’s “Tis the Season” Designer Series Paper (DSP) has patterns that match many of the stamps in our Holiday Catalog that don’t have their own coordinating papers? While the jingle bell paper is perfect for the Cherish The Season bundle, I paired it with the Banner Year bundle and it’s petite holly image.

To make the tab to hang the card from: you’ll need a piece of 2-1/2′ x 5-1/2″ Designer Series Paper and the Classic Label Punch: Push the paper all the way into the punch (with the edge of the punch lining up with the short edge of the paper) and punch all the way across until the other edge of the paper lining up with the other side of the punch. Adhere the *top* of the Designer Series Paper to the bag with Tear & Tape, leaving the punched side unattached so as to slide your card through.

NOTE: The card needs to open from the top hinge to be able to hang from the tab!

Hop along to Rochelle’s post for MORE MERRY crafting, but before you go, tell me what you learned here!

POINSETTIA PLACE SUITE

The ICONIC flower of the holidays, a poinsettia looks as elegant on your cards as it does on your table!

Special touches like the flocked vellum in the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (#153486), the dazzling Beaded Pearls (#153534), and the elegant Real Red Sheer Ribbon (#153535) make this suite stand out and shine. I also love that the Poinsettia Dies (#153522) have duplicates of several dies. That means when you stamp the layering poinsettia and leaf images from the coordinating Poinsettia Petals stamp set (#153475), you can save time by cutting out two of each at one time. We all love to save time!

From traditional colors to modern, monochrome elegance you’ll be amazed at all the different styles you can create with this suite

What’s New: Toile Tidings for Christmas

Whats new (2)

This creative group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the globe are back to showcase CHRISTMAS creations and we appreciate you hopping along with us!

A gorgeous crimson cardinal along with the pastoral print of a countryside Christmas combine to make this card a keepsake:

IMG_3732-(W)

It’s really a lovely combination when layered on a Soft Seafoam card base, isn’t it? Stampin’ Up! really provides the best coordinating products to help take the guesswork out of your crafting. I used the Toile Christmas stamp set and Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper, along with the Stitched Nested Label Dies to provide a background for the bird.

To color the cardinal, I simply used the Watercolor Pencils (White and Daffodil Delight) to color the bird after stamping it in black ink. No need to add water, just start coloring lightly and layering the color.

IMG_3733-(W)

It’s a simple card to create, and conveys a beautiful wish for a holiday of happiness!
