WATERCOLORING TIP: Squeeze your ink pads when they are closed, then pick up the ink from THE LID when opened (never put your water pens onto your ink pads to pick up ink!)

This is one of our acetate card boxes that you could decorate and fill with a small gift like tea towels, napkins, cash or thank you cards for a newlywed couple. While the mercury glass acetate sheets in this suite are colored Rococo Rose or Highland Heather on one side, they are silver on the back side, as used on this sample.

All Things Fabulous Inspired

Woke up with an urgent need to create something, so I let the #TGIFC308 challenge inspire me!

Without a lot of time, I chose to let the colors and bouquet image be my inspiration and took it quite literally with the All Things Fabulous stamp set, which I haven’t had much time to play with yet:

It’s even a surprise to me when I start with something that gets the creativity flowing (like a sketch, color palette or picture) and it comes together quickly, as this card did.

Two of these In-Colors coordinate prettily together in a lighter and darker shade of blue: Seaside Spray (2019-2021) and Misty Moonlight (2020-2022). Next week the retiring list will be released and the retiring In-Colors are the FIRST things to sell out, so add your ink refills, card stock and coordinating accessories in these retiring colors to an order TODAY!

March 3 for Free: Hydrangea Haven

Each month I offer a different “free kit” for a bundle from the newest catalog: During March, when you purchase the Hydrangea Haven bundle (or Hydrangea Hill Suite Collection available again mid-March), I will send you 3 tutorials by email and the consumable supplies via USPS to complete the projects.

With blossoms beginning to burst forth this month, these lovely bunches of flowers seemed a fitting way to spring into crafting that coordinates with the season! There are a few products you’ll need to complete the projects: Scissors, adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine (or Big Shot), Tuxedo Black Memento pad AND these suggested Stampin’ Up! ink pads: Highland Heather, Misty Moonlight, Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray. These colors also coordinate with the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper. You may want to add these items to your cart when you are ordering the bundle.

TIP: Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray are two retiring 2019-2021 In-Colors leaving us in April, so if you need to order ink refills for your ink pads (or matching card stock or accessories), get them SOONER than later, as they tend to sell out quickly!

Darling Donkeys has been neck-and-neck with Berry Blessings for most popular Sale-a-Bration stamp set! Do you have this one yet? I layered him on an embossed piece of vellum for a fabulous birthday card.

When you find a card pattern that will work with all of your Designer Series Paper, make a big STACK of them! That’s what I did with the Flower & Field DSP and used this card for swapping at our recent StampFest events. It’s an inexpensive card, since the paper was free!

Valentines, Kawaii-Style

The SpendLOVE family sends cards in February (for obvious reasons) and this year Cody and I stamped, cut, embossed and mailed 192 of these adorable greeting cards (with a little help from my mom):

Our son taught us that in Japan, the “culture of cuteness” is called Kawaii: When something (a human or object) is adorable in a charming, shy or childlike way. I think these frozen treats fit the Kawaii description, don’t you?

It’s a labor of love to send these cards (which include a photo of our family and a short newsletter) and as we address the envelopes, we remember our family and friends with gratitude.

Hey, Birthday Chick: 3-for-Free!

Remember the Hey, Chick stamp set from Sale-a-Bration a few years back? They were the “must-have” set of the year and those same chicks are BACK (and ready to PARTY!) in the January-June mini catalog. It’s fitting that my February 2021 3-for-Free class features the new Hey, Birthday Chick! bundle:

This card is EXPLODING with blackberries and it couldn’t be sweeter (unless they were real blackberries):

Birthday Chick All Wired Up

I miss my chickens.

Consoling myself with stamped chickens is (only) slightly less messy and time consuming, but there aren’t any delicious eggs to look forward to. It’s all good though, because these hens from the Birthday Chick stamp set make me laugh as much as the live versions did!

This greeting card started with the TGIF Challenge on Friday to use our background stamps: The All Wired Up background had been on my mind since the chicks arrived!

By using the new Blending Brushes to add a little extra Granny Apple Green ink at the bottom of the background, it added on Ombre element that helps Chunky Clucky really pop off as the focal point!

You may be asking…where did the picket fence come from? Did you fussy cut Chunky Clucky? Well, my friends, I have good news for you: On February 2nd, customers will be able to order coordinating dies (and that’s not all, so stay tuned)!

New at SU!~ Treasures of Life

Welcome to our January 2021 NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who LOVE sharing Stampin’ Up! paper crafting ideas with you, and today that love takes center stage with all the 💚🧡 HEARTS ❤️💜

I chose the Treasures of Life stamp set to use for this card~ this image of the granddaughter with her grandfather reminds me so much of my husband’s tenderness with his grandchildren, and it makes me fall in love with him in ways deeper than I had ever imagined:

The card uses the Oh, So Ombre Designer Series Paper that you could choose FREE during Sale-a-Bration (January-February 2021) with a $50 order. Coloring in the image with the Stampin’ Blends was a lovely way to make the people come to life!

This fun fold card base is 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 1.5″ and 7″, and there is a tender message on the inside from the stamp set, as well.
