Welcome New 2025 In Colors

Before we get to colors, a quick reminder that tomorrow afternoon (May 10th) is my Annual Open House & BOGO SALE in Hurricane, UT. This only happens once a year, so you won’t want to miss it:

Meet the New Stampin’ Up! In Colors for 2025–2027

One of the most anticipated moments in the Stampin’ Up!®️ community is the annual debut of the trending HUES —and this year’s collection does not disappoint. These five colors offer a mix of fresh energy, soft sophistication, and playful charm that will breathe new life into your projects.

I appreciate that they work well together, as shown by this bold-striped card to mail to someone (like a teacher) who may be taking a well-deserved summer vacation:

The die cut images and stamps from the Notes & Totes bundle evoke a relaxing day on the beach!

As always, the In Color lineup includes ink pads, cardstock, Designer Series Paper, Stampin’ Write (water-based) AND Stampin’ Blends (alcohol-based) markers, embellishments, and more—so you can match your materials perfectly for a polished finish.

There is ONE small glitch, but don’t worry…we have a workaround! CLOUD COVER will NOT have a coordinating Ink Pad, and here’s why:

One more option: For my card, I used a VERSAMARK stamp pad to add the floral background across all the colors. Versamark ink is like a watermark: It makes the color you are stamping on just a deeper tone of the same color-

Also, I may have already been through an entire package of those flat pearls, and we are only 3 days into the new catalog year…

Ready to start crafting with the 2025–2027 In Colors? You can begin collecting them here, and sign up for my newsletter to receive a new COLOR COACH, which includes 3 color combinations for all 51 of our amazing colors (153 combinations in all)!

IF YOU LOVE THE COLOR COACH, from June-October, each month you place an order of $50 or more, you’ll receive a set of 10 tutorials USING THE COLOR COACH, just like this one (a freebie for Basic Beige):

MAY ORDERS OVER 50+ will also receive a set of tutorials, but not focused on color. June – October customer gift tutorials will be color-palette centered.

Cutting Map for 6×6 Designer Series Paper

If you create cards, you know the satisfaction of using EVERY. INCH. of patterned paper! Let me use the Stampin’ Up! Fruit Salad Designer Series Paper for Sale-a-Bration to show you how to quickly cut a sheet of 6″ x 6″ paper to make TWO cards!

The first cut you make will be 1″ off the side, then turn your DSP 90 degrees and cut an inch off the other side (you’ll have a 5″ x 5″ piece left over):

The third cut you make will be to cut your 5″ square into two 2.5″ sections. BEFORE YOU CUT, make sure you know which orientation you want your card to be, if there is a direction in the pattern! Watch the video below to see me explain.

The last cut is to take 1″ off the 6″ x 1″ strip, but DON’T THROW THAT TINY SQUARE AWAY!

Once you have your two sets of paper pieces, lay them onto a 4″ x 5.25″ card stock, leaving space in between them. Embellish, then mount the layers onto a card base:

Video instructions:

Here are the cards I created or showed using the Fruit Salad paper and the cutting guide. Add ribbon, a greeting, a focal point, a strip of card stock:

This pattern/layout is good for most double sided paper, especially when one side has a bold pattern and the back side has more subtle pattern. Try mixing up patterns from a package, like this card using the Sale-a-Bration Toadstool Gardens paper:

A sentiment stamp set and coordinating punch make finishing these greeting cards speedy, or create a scene (like the toadstools) on a 2″ x 3-1/4″ rectangle. Alternatively, fussy cut an image from the paper itself:

Don’t miss the chance to get some lovely paper free during Sale-a-Bration! Only 4 weeks left.

Come back tomorrow to see what you can do with all the last inches left over from your DSP!

Quilted Cards

Greeting card crafters know how similar their art is to quilting: Matching patterns, colors and textures of little pieces of paper gives us a quicker satisfaction on a smaller scale than a quilt!

This card not only patchworks paper together, it ALSO HAS A QUILTED TEXTURE!

I paired the Softly Sophisticated Sale-a-Bration bundle with the Softly Stippled Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper for this card.

INSTRUCTIONS & MEASUREMENTS: Stamp images & sentiment on the Wild Wheat textile patterned paper (2″ x 3-1/4″) then adhere it to the center of a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Wild Wheat card stock, with two 3/4″ x 3-7/8″ pieces of Designer Series Paper on the top and bottom and two 3/4″ x 4-1/8″ pieces of Designer Series Paper on the sides (adjusted measurement from the video). Emboss all the layers with the Softly Sophisticated 3-D Embossing folder before mounting it to the card base.

Follow along and craft with me- you can pause as you stamp & assemble:

The Softly Sophisticated Bundle is a set of stamps & embossing folder you can choose FREE with a $100 order before 2/29/24 for Sale-a-Bration!

I didn’t stop with the first card, but pulled out some supplies from the Annual Catalog to make a few handmade hugs (gatefold cards):

TIPS FOR THIS CARD: Cut a 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ piece of each pattern in the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. You can cut two sheets at a time with the Sunburst die, but you may want to go forward and back through the Cut & Emboss machine. You can flip pieces over, since the top and bottom of the design are the same size/shape and get ALL 12 designs in the starburst!

This card also used the Softly Sophisticated 3-D Embossing Folder, then I tried a few other textures:

3-D Embossing folders used left to right: Softly Sophisticated, Layered Florals, Basics Floral

These are the supplies I used for the blue sunburst hug cards:

I’ll be sharing some of these cards with new team members during Sale-a-Bration – if you would like to start a crafty adventure with Stampin’ Up! I’m here to help. There are two bonus options if you choose to give it a try before the end of February, and the Glass Mat Studio is one of them!

Spiral Pop-Up Cards, Valentine Edition

Crafter problems: Losing sleep over a project that you’ve dreamed up! That was the situation last night because I was too excited about making this idea come to life:

But I’m getting ahead of myself…

This simple pop-up card uses WINDOW sheets (spiralized) to make the bees buzz with a message of love on Valentine’s Day! The front of the card:

I actually made TWO versions with the Bee My Valentine suite AND a Sale-a-Bration specialty paper (which I’ll show you after the video). They are very easy to create and will be buzz-worthy when my grandkids open them!

Here’s the tutorial video:

It’s your last chance to sign up for my January VIRTUAL Class, featuring the Bee My Valentine bundle

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration is in full swing, and you could choose the Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper as a free product with $50 order before it ends on 2/29/24 (or the paper is sold out), in which case, you could ALSO make this version of the Spiral Pop-Up Card:

One side of the paper is Flirty Flamingo and Real Red and the other side is white and GOLD FOIL, which will be perfect to have on hand for wedding season and anniversaries.

When you checkout from my Stampin’ Store, you’ll be prompted to choose Sale-a-Bration product(s) you qualify for! Here’s a cart I’ve started for you (add or take out, as you wish):

Pick Your Freebie Fast and Sale-a-Bration Challenge

As Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year winds down, things start to sell out… yesterday the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper Sale-a-Bration exclusive product was the first to go. Have YOU picked your freebie yet? Don’t forget that you get to choose a product with each $50 purchase through the end of the month!

Thanks GOODNESS it’s Friday! The #tgifc408 challenge was to use a Sale-a-Bration product, but it’s too difficult to choose just one, so I chose TWO: the Thanks a Bunch stamp set (free choice with $50) and the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper (a mega-pack that you could choose with a $100 order). TIP: When you order $150, you can choose both PLUS earn $15 Stampin’ Rewards! It’s a good time to stock up on adhesive, envelopes, card stock and don’t forget to check the clearance rack.

The Tailor-Made Tag was a terrific piece for my garden of carrots! Makes me want to pick one.

Have you noticed that long carrots are sweeter and tastier than baby carrots? You can argue, but it’s true.

Since I loved the layout of this card, I had to try it with a different piece of the Dandy Designs paper and another favorite new set… Sweet Citrus:

Two of the colors I used (Pale Papaya on the carrot card base and Fresh Freesia on the grapefruit card layer) are RETIRING in April. These popular In Colors are known to sell out quickly once the retiring list is released in March (if not before), so remember to add an ink refill for your ink pads and stock up on card stock or coordinating accessories now, while you can take advantage of free products during Sale-a-Bration, and before they are sold out, too.

While some of our Sale-a-Bration products are dwindling, there are additional items to choose from the annual catalog:

March 3 for Free: Hydrangea Haven

Each month I offer a different “free kit” for a bundle from the newest catalog: During March, when you purchase the Hydrangea Haven bundle (or Hydrangea Hill Suite Collection available again mid-March), I will send you 3 tutorials by email and the consumable supplies via USPS to complete the projects.

With blossoms beginning to burst forth this month, these lovely bunches of flowers seemed a fitting way to spring into crafting that coordinates with the season! There are a few products you’ll need to complete the projects: Scissors, adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine (or Big Shot), Tuxedo Black Memento pad AND these suggested Stampin’ Up! ink pads: Highland Heather, Misty Moonlight, Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray. These colors also coordinate with the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper. You may want to add these items to your cart when you are ordering the bundle.

TIP: Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray are two retiring 2019-2021 In-Colors leaving us in April, so if you need to order ink refills for your ink pads (or matching card stock or accessories), get them SOONER than later, as they tend to sell out quickly!

While these pretty purple projects are NOT part of the kit, I did show you how to use the Hydrangea with the gorgeous Mercury Glass Acetate Sheets (included in the Suite Collection) during a recent Facebook Lunchtime Live Crafting:

Want to plan ahead for future 3 for Free kits? The kit with your purchase for April will be the Sweet Ice Cream bundle (or Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection).

In case I haven’t mentioned it recently, I know you have many options for purchasing your craft supplies and I *TRULY* appreciate when you choose me to keep you stamping. Your support of my small business means the world to me, so thank you from my heart to yours.

Fold-Flat Box

I have a great excuse for being MIA over the past 6 weeks: WE MOVED! Just to a new house in the same city, but downsizing was a big effort (one that we are continuing to work at…hoping I will be able to park in the garage before Halloween!)

July has TWO awesome promotions ~ I’ll share them with you just in time to take advantage of either or both:

DSP_SALE_ENG

Each Monday in July, I’ve been sharing ways to use Designer Series Paper in your crafting on my Facebook Live Lunchtime Crafting broadcast! Today I showed how to create this amazing Flat-Fold Box:

WARNING: You won’t be able to stop with just one box: These are addicting to make and you’ll want to make a whole bunch to have on hand to pop open and put together when you need them!

Along the long side, the score lines are at 1-3/4″, 5″, 6-3/4″ and 10″
Along the short end, score at 1-3/4″ and 6-3/4″

I used the Tropical Escape DSP for the top of the box and the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set:

You can mix and match Designer Series Paper during the sale so you can stock up on pretty patterns to compliment all your paper crafting.

Finally, how would you like to choose $192* in Stampin’ Up! products for just $99?

That’s what you get when you join my Stampin’ Team in July!

* $125 in products plus a collection of 10 ink pads
