New at SU!- Happy Birthday Gift Bag

It’s a Birthday Bash for our July New at SU! Blog Hop, and our demonstrator design team from around the globe will inspire you to create a personalized birthday celebration using your Stampin’ Up! supplies!

Remember the classic handled-gift-bag topper? I’m giving it a fresh look with the fabulous Party Dies Bundle (banners + big alphabet)!

Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Jar stamp set has the perfect candles to stamp along the bottom edge of the bag in colors to match your theme!

The largest banner die is approx. 5″ x 7″ so you could create a topper for various sizes of bags. The plain white bag I used is about 5″ wide by 8.5″ tall, so I used the 4th largest banner die on a 4.5″ x 11″ piece of Shy Shamrock card stock (folded in half) for this topper:

Make sure the top of the banner die lays just off the folded edge as you cut through both layers with the bottom part of the die, so you don’t cut this piece into two pieces! Once you’ve die cut the banner, hold the fold up to the top of the bag and mark just outside the edges of the handles, then use a paper trimmer or snips to cut along the folded edge BETWEEN the two marks. This gives you a slit to slide over the handles (after decorating the topper and inserting your gift into the bag)

The On the Go Designer Series Paper gave me the color palette and the patterned paper for this project, and has a full page of adorable luggage tags that make perfect gift tags, too! Sentiments come from the hilarious new stamp set in my Online Exclusives called “Not 29 Anymore” and I also cut a second set of letters from Basic Black card stock to give it a shadow behind the DSP:

I’ll be making more of these to wrap birthday presents in, giving someone a laugh when I gift it! Would it make you giggle? Give me your thoughts in the comments at the top of the post, next to posting date.

Paper Crafts with ZEST!

The frame die from the Citrus Blooms bundle offers such versatility when you are considering summery cards or gifts, and in my Live Crafting broadcast today, I couldn’t stop with just one project.

The first card I demonstrated was the elegant “gate-fold” card, which opens to reveal a simple branch of mouth-watering fruit. For once in my career, I DIDN’T add a sentiment to this card! It seems like it could be used for any reason, so I left the options open.

The measurements for this gatefold card are:

  • Night of Navy Mat: 5.5″ x 4.25″
  • Basic White card stock: 4″ x 10.5″, scored at 5.25″
  • Designer Series Paper for gate flaps: 5.5″ x 5″, folded in half at 2.5″
  • A piece of Designer Series Paper to die- or fussy-cut your preferred citrus from
  • 22″ Navy & Gold Glimmer ribbon

While I didn’t demonstrate the second card, I’ll show you how to cut the larger navy layer from the frame using a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of card stock in the short video below.

Finally, when I found the Lemon Crisp Kit Kat candies, I knew I needed to make a favor (before I ate them all and regretted my life choices).

Measurements for this project:

  • Cut the frame from a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Designer Series Paper, then score it at 2-1/8″ and 3″ in the center.
  • Night of Navy card stock 2-7/8″ x 4.5″, scored on all four sides at 1″ to create the “box” that holds two candies inside.
  • Navy 1″ x 8.5″ for the band around the outside (you’ll cut off the excess on the top after wrapping it)
  • Ribbon- as long as you want (tie a knot or a bow)

Now you have all the pieces prepared (right?), watch HOW to make each of these projects:

Transform Lunch Bags into Gift Bags

Have you ever spent as much on the wrapping as you did on a gift? Save some of your gift budget with this hack!

Perhaps you remember the embossed kraft gift bag I posted earlier this year, and today I’ll show you how to use the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks (back in stock!) to dress up your ordinary lunch sacks. Keep your “present”-ation game at the top, without breaking the bank.

I asked for a fall color combination suggestion and Nila (one of my Sprinkled Inkers) suggested Crushed Curry, Pecan Pie and Cajun Craze, all of which blended together over the mask beautifully!

Top it off by rolling your bag down twice and folding over a 2-1/2″ strip of Designer Series Paper. The Tartan Foil is an Online Exclusive and has a lovely shimmer! Stamp a sentiment on a strip of card stock, punch a banner end and clip the bag closed with a mini clothespin.

Next, I had to use the Snowflake mask (there are 7 masks in the set, 4 of which make a sunflower as I demonstrated last Monday). This one used Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia for a winter feel:

Recognize the fan-fold top? It’s the same style I did earlier, and it tops off the gift so prettily!

This one uses a hexagon from the new Heartfelt Hexagon bundle (with a punch!) which can also be found in my online store.

Now a video tutorial for both bags with handy tips on using the masks:

Have fun transforming your bags from ordinary to EXTRAORDINARY!

A Gift Bag That Closes With a Tag

I wanted to give the leaders in my Sprinkled Ink team a special gift when we attended BackStage last weekend. My Kit.sch pillowcase is one of my favorite things, so I knew it would be a special gift, but I needed a way to wrap them, so I came up with a gift bag/box that closes at the top with a TAG.

Both Sue and Kristi LOVE purple, so I used a piece of the Delighfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper to create the bag for them, but today I demonstrated it with a sneak peek piece of the Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper that will be available beginning September 6, 2023:

It’s super simple to create and you can also slip a hand-stamped card inside along with a pillowcase (or any other gift about the same size). The finished bag is 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ x 7″

Grab a piece of Designer Series Paper and watch the video below to craft along, then reserve your paper share at the link after the video!

Would you like a 6″ x 6″ piece of every pretty patterned paper in the upcoming September-December Mini catalog? Reserve your share by September 5th (or inquire if I have any extra after the 6th).

NOTE: The Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper is our “giveback” product and when you purchase a package, $3 will be donated to the Marine Toys for Tots program to deliver hope to economically disadvantaged children.

Last (but not least), on Wednesday, September 6th, make sure you check out the SPECIAL RELEASE of additional Designer Series Papers that are NOT in the mini catalog – but COORDINATE with select products in the mini catalog – which are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST! Self-adhesive gold and silver glimmer paper? YES, PLEASE! And that’s just one of the papers…

A Crafting Community to Cherish

The #1 reason I’m still stamping after 30+ years is my family of demonstrators!

These women (and a few more who aren’t in the picture) give me a reason to jump out of bed and get into my Stampin’ Studio every day! It makes me happy to serve them and cheer them on in their business, too.

We held our first ever Sprinkled Ink Retreat this past weekend in Southern Utah and let me tell you…so many friendships were forged or strengthened, fingers (and clothes!) got inky, we laughed, ate well, played, learned and GREW stronger together. It was magical.

As the Inkers arrived (coming from Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and even Georgia!) they received a swag bag with gifts & goodies:

We started off with a Stampin’ Escape Room Game on Friday night, and there was some serious competition between the 3 teams. They worked together well to figure out the clues.

Because we are celebrating Stampin’ Up!’s 35 Anniversary in 2023, the home office chose 35 demonstrator-sponsored events to send a member of the executive team to attend, and we were lucky to have Jill Taylor, Stampin’ Up! Vice President of Sales attend our event on Saturday! She was so friendly and fun-loving, she fit right in and made everyone feel valued.

She also gave us a sneak peek at an upcoming kit, and all I can say is IT’S RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!

Next we participated in Creativity Now, a company sponsored demonstrator event where watched demonstrations of new products, stamped along with a presentations, learned how much research and thought goes into designing a products like the Earthen Elegance Suite (they rolled out and fired multiple clay samples and made sure the greetings would translate to Spanish)

Following Creativity Now, Jill gave us some business training and we had some hands-on technology training, too. Then it was time for dinner catered by Costa Vida and a Shoebox swap (which I’ll share tomorrow). Some of us enjoyed sitting in the jacuzzi and visiting in the evening, and all of us made memories together!

It was wonderful that my “Stampin’ Mom” Sherrill Graff (who helped me get started back in 1992!) attended with us! She is a beautiful, generous, loving and creative woman who does her best to emulate Jesus Christ. We took a “4 generation” picture with my first recruit Ann Olsen (in the palm frond top) and her team member Kim Clark. This is the family you CHOOSE!

If this might be a community you didn’t even KNOW you needed, there is room FOR YOU at our table! All you have to do is TRY the Starter Kit and you’ll be added to our Sprinkled Ink Facebook Group and have the opportunity to join us as the next In-Person or Virtual event. There are no strings attached, so you can buy the kit, save money, get a discount and see if our Stampin’ Family feels like home.

During June 2023, you get to choose MORE in the starter kit, too:

What questions about the opportunity to discover a creative community do you have? It would be a pleasure to help you find your place here, so ask away!

New at SU! In-Color Happiness

New Catalog, New Colors, New Stamps…and we can’t wait to share it all with you! Today we are featuring the 2022-2024 In-Colors that made their debut this month and as you visit the website of each of our International demonstrator design team, make sure you PIN your favorites to remember for later.

Bright and bold, I adore these new colors, and I wanted to show how lovely three of them (Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Orchard Oasis) coordinate in WATERCOLOR:

The Happiness Abounds bundle was perfect for this simple technique! Here are the easy steps:

  1. Heat emboss the flowers and leaves with white embossing powder on thick Basic White card stock.
  2. Squeeze your ink pads (while closed) to get a bit of ink inside the lid of your case, then open the ink pad and pick up a bit of ink from the lid using a water painter. (Don’t pick up ink directly from your ink pad). TIP: Start with a light wash of color and add more as desired..
  3. Use the dies to cut out the watercolored flora using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and add to your project with liquid glue or dimensionals.

Putting these flowers onto one of our new striped Emboss Treat bags makes me ready for the next birthday or wedding gift I need to wrap.

Before you move on to Andrea’s pretty project (or click anywhere on the list to see more In-Color Inspiration), tell me which In-Color matches your personality!? For me, I think it’s going to be Tahitian Tide (which I didn’t even use on this project!).

New at SU!: Be Merry Card & Bag

Warm Holiday Wishes~ We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with Holiday Crafting ideas to share with you!

During GIFTING season, use your stampin’ supplies to package a pretty present:

Adding a card to the outside of a gift bag dresses it up and this one really rings with good cheer.

Did you know Stampin’ Up!’s “Tis the Season” Designer Series Paper (DSP) has patterns that match many of the stamps in our Holiday Catalog that don’t have their own coordinating papers? While the jingle bell paper is perfect for the Cherish The Season bundle, I paired it with the Banner Year bundle and it’s petite holly image.

To make the tab to hang the card from: you’ll need a piece of 2-1/2′ x 5-1/2″ Designer Series Paper and the Classic Label Punch: Push the paper all the way into the punch (with the edge of the punch lining up with the short edge of the paper) and punch all the way across until the other edge of the paper lining up with the other side of the punch. Adhere the *top* of the Designer Series Paper to the bag with Tear & Tape, leaving the punched side unattached so as to slide your card through.

NOTE: The card needs to open from the top hinge to be able to hang from the tab!

Hop along to Rochelle’s post for MORE MERRY crafting, but before you go, tell me what you learned here!

A Gift Bag for the New Mr. & Mrs.

Is your refrigerator covered with wedding invitations like mine?
You need to make a few of these to have on hand: Just drop in a gift and go!

I’m kind of in love with the new Mint Macaron In-Color for 2015-2016: It’s so elegant! Paired with the new Tip-Top Taupe (another new In-Color) it’s a perfect marriage of color (pun intended). The gorgeous Dotted Lace trim comes in all 5 of the new hues, too. I picked up the handled-bag at the dollar store, but everything else can be found in my online store.

And if you don’t have the Bow Builder Punch, order it immediately. Seriously.

Serendipity that this coincides with the #TGIFC08 challenge and co-ordinates with their colors, too:

Thanks for checking in and wishing you wonderful weddings!
