Scrapbooking with Everyday Skies Suite & Virtual Event

Scrapbooking is about telling your stories and getting the photos off your phone! Myself, I tend to keep it simple to get it done. As part of our “Sweet, Suite Summer” series (since it’s the last week of our Suite BOGO50 Sale) I wanted to use the Everyday Skies Suite to show you how these products can be fantastic for memory albums!

My first page capturing a trip to Texas (many years ago) could NOT be more simple because the photo has the date and the front of the folder that the picture came in tells where it is. There are no Everyday Skies products on this page, but hold on…

On the second page, I start using the Everyday Arches dies, which is part of the suite. Cutting photos with the arches gives them a unique look. While my preference is 8.5″ x 11″ pages, you can do the same thing on a 12″ x 12″ page:

The title uses a few of our alphabet dies (listed in complete supply list, below) and a strip of the Everyday Skies Designer Series Paper makes it feel separated.

Moving to the third page (also the second page of the layout), I’ve added a whole 6″ x 6″ piece of the DSP to the lower corner to tie the colors together, and stamped the airplanes to indicate that we flew to Texas for this vacation:

To keep all the maps, ticket stubs and brochures together, page #4 actually acts as a pocket:

Just for fun, the postcard from the Alamo in San Antonio that I used on the bottom of the pocket page is 3-D, so when you move the page, a different image appears:

Try “framing” a larger photo with an arch outline, and watch the demonstration video to learn how I made the photo corners 😉

EXTRA! EXTRA! After the video, I made one more simple page to finish off my photos from that trip 21 years ago, and tie them together with the arches (and those photo corners show up again). This will face the Alamo page, completing the layout and telling the story:

Mailable Magnet Frame

Back with another gift that fits inside an envelope for mailing (if you missed the previous ideas, bookmark that post HERE)! This magnet frame is a TWO-FER since you get two magnets from one project, and can include both the photo frame and extra magnet as a bonus gift.

These are actually on my fridge! I wanted to show that they do stick with the magnet sheets used today (click link to shop on Amazon). You can use ANY Stampin’ Up! products (Designer Series Paper, stamps, dies, etc.) but I will link the ones I used for this version below – THANKS FOR SHOPPING WITH ME!

Let’s get right to the video tutorial, which will answer most of your questions:

The Everyday Arches dies worked well for this frame: Roll it through the Cut & Emboss machine TWICE to cut through the layers of paper and magnet sheet.

Then use the inside arch for a second magnet. Think of it as a blank palette and “build” a scene just as you would a card front. I used the Crafting For You stamp set and dies, and just learned that the stamp set is already sold out/discontinued from the 2024-25 Catalog! Guess that’s a good reminder not to let something you love pass you by… at least the dies are still available, and many don’t need the stamps.

They can both be mailed in the same envelope. I made the magnet 4.25″ x 5.5″ to fit in the Basic White A2 envelopes, but you could certainly make a larger size if you have a larger envelope:

This version features an upcoming product (stamps & dies) called “Impressions Abloom” that will be released in the Online Exclusive section of my Stampin’ Store on May 6th. I paired it with the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper. If you want to use the back side of the paper for the inside piece, remember to cut the shape from the paper BEFORE putting it on the magnet’s adhesive side, then run through the machine a second time to cut out the center piece.

New at SU!- CASEing Karen’s Mini Album

What a creative challenge we have for April’s New at SU! Blog Hop! We are “CASE”ing (= Copy And Share Everything) each other on the design team, and I was inspired by Karen Henderson’s fabulous MINI ALBUM that she made for our last hop AND her OnStage 2024 experience!

I chose to use the Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper and the Mini Alphabet Dies to capture the fun of being GRANDparents and make my album with a fold over closure to keep it all together.

Karen’s idea to score the 6″x6″ pages at 4″ was brilliant, so I did the same. On the “short” pages, I added a photo or journaling flap:

Because my pictures are larger, I cut some of them to spread across two pages.

The album base is 6.5″ x 11″, scored at 4.25″, 4.75″, 9″ and 9.5″ and used 11 sheets of the 6″ Designer Series Paper to create the pages, gluing them back to back. On a few (like the tulip page above), I just adhered the edges and bottom of two pages together, so I could create a pocket between them with a large tag I can pull out and journal on! Other supplies listed below.
