New at SU!- Simply Christmas Notecards

Christmas is the time to be joyful – not stressed – so the New at SU! Design Team is here to help simplify your holiday crafting!

Ideally, a handmade Christmas card or gift lets someone know they are loved, but if time is running out, these demonstrators have united around the world to bring you quick & easy projects. Whenever I need a bunch of cards in a hurry, I turn to Stampin’ Up!® Note Cards & Envelopes because they are already cut, scored and ready to decorate…and they are only $10 US for a set of 20 cards and 20 envelopes!

The “recipe” for this card is as simple as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Cut a layer of Basic White card stock 3″ x 4.5″ and add a 3″ square piece of patterned paper to the top (I used Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper because it has gold foiling, which makes it fancy).
  2. Stamp a sentiment in the lower right corner, then add a 4″ strip of ribbon, adhered to the back.
  3. Attach layer to card front with Stampin’ dimensionals!

You can then tie a knot or bow around the ribbon on the front left (optional):

Make your card MERRIER by stamping on the flap of the envelope (photo at top), and you are ready to mail (or gift) Christmas Wishes!

These make lovely gifts, and you could make 5 sets of four cards in less than 30 minutes, just wrap them up in a ribbon. Tip: Switch out “Merry” for “Thanks” and they’ll be sending one to you!

As you jump to the next “Simply Christmas” project, make sure to save or pin your favorites: You could even create a “Simple Stamping” folder for all these incredible ideas.

Dino-Mite Card (and a Secret to Quick Cards)

Today’s creation is proof that you don’t need a craft room full of supplies (or a time machine to the Cretaceous period) to make something “dino-mite.” This cheerful congratulations card came together in minutes using the Celebrations Expressions Memories & More card pack from Stampin’ Up! and the adorable Darling Dinos stamp & die bundle.

If you’ve been around my blog for a while, you know I love a good sketch challenge to get the creative juices flowing. This design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #698. When you’ve got a great sketch, half the work is already done for you!

The Recipe for Easy Cardmaking

Card Base: Balmy Blue cardstock, because the white background of the cards need a contrasting color to stand out.

Panels: I cut down three different cards from the Celebrations Expressions pack to fit the sketch—two with fun, hand-painted patterns and one with bright, festive banners. Pre-printed designs are the secret sauce for fast crafting: no stamping, coloring, or choosing a color palette required – it’s done for you!

Focal Point: That sweet brontosaurus is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink directly onto Balmy Blue card stock and simply colored with Stampin’ Blends.

Finishing Touches: A few Starburst Sequins add sparkle, and a simple “CONGRATULATIONS” sentiment was trimmed from the card pack itself. Easy-peasy.

Leftover 1″ squares of the pre-printed cards pull the party all the way to the inside of the card:

Why Memories & More Packs Are a Game-Changer

If you’ve never crafted with Memories & More cards, think of them as your personal cardmaking shortcut. They’re designed for pocket scrapbooking, but their patterns, colors, and ready-to-use sentiments make them perfect for quick cards, too. In this project, I didn’t have to stamp the sentiment or create background layers from scratch—they were already there, waiting to be trimmed and glued in place.

Because I also have team members whose promotions I want to recognize, I created a second set of cards from the same card pack:

No stamping on this one! Just the Memories & More cards and coordinating card stock paired together so the celebration can get started quickly.

Give yourself the tools to create happy mail whenever the occasion pops up—because a handmade card always makes the celebration a little brighter.

Sweet Suite Simple Thank You Cards

“Summertime! And the Stampin’ is Easy!” (if you sang that in your mind~ Greetings, fellow musical geek!)

Since Stampin’ Up!®️ Suites (and suite products) are BOGO50 during June, I’ll be sharing some SIMPLE ways to use our current Suites for sensational summer stamping projects. In today’s video, I’m also revealing a BEAUTY SECRET!

Crafting in June, July & August has to be easy & breezy, so coordinated products in a suite bring a speedy card together in moments. Using the Impressions Abloom stamp set, you can keep this Thanks card ultra simple, or add layers and leaves:

The only thing to stamp on the second card is the sentiment! If you die cut a few extra pieces while catching up on your favorite television episode, you’ll have all the pieces prepared to put an “I appreciate you” card together in seconds:

Embossing a piece of Stampin’ Up!®️ Two-Tone card stock with the Pressed Flowers embossing folder and rubbing it with an emery board to reveal the white center makes this background terrific and touchable.

Some of the Impressions Abloom Dies have detailed inserts, so you can die cut them from cardstock, or remove the details to cut out the stamped image.

TIP: Washi tape keeps both the outline and the details together while you run them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.

All these products are part of the Floral Impressions Suite, and can be purchased as a complete collection or individually:

REMEMBER: For the Buy-One-Get-One-50% off special, the LOWEST priced items will receive the discount, so shop smart! Make separate orders and purchase 2 suites together in the first order (to get one suite half price), then use the *Stampin’ Rewards you earned on your first order for an additional discount on your second order, where you may order individual items from other suites (like more Designer Series Paper or embellishments).

*Stampin’ Rewards: Make sure you’ve OPTED IN to earn 10% back each time you shop! Save them or spend your rewards next time!

Scroll back up to the top to the comments (under the posting date) to tell me if you took the beauty secret and tried it!

New at SU!- Blueberries Simple to Stepped Up

Welcome to the February New at SU! Blog hop! We want to show you how to use products from the January-April Mini catalog to create simple cards, with the option to “step them up”. Hop all around the world to see what our design team created for you!

Starting off simple: Blueberry Bunches are beautiful simply stamped on a Crumb Cake background and a white focal point! A strip of Glorious Gingham DSP brings a country-fair feel to this simple card.

Step it up by die cutting the top layer from the Everyday Details dies and color the blueberries with Stampin’ Blends.

For AVID crafters, you can really create a masterpiece when you:

  • Emboss blueberry branches in white on a Blueberry Bushel card base
  • Add a few layers of card stock and Designer Series Paper
  • Watercolor the fruit on watercolor paper using ink refills or watercolor pencils (use StazOn ink to stamp image for watercoloring).
  • Fussy cut the blueberry bunch and pop it up using dimensionals
  • Use Stampin’ Blends to color basic rhinestone jewels for added sparkle

Remember to stamp a layer for inside the card, if the base is a dark color, and don’t forget to stamp your envelope to match!

Scoot off to visit these simple-to-stepped-up ideas and leave a comment on your favorite posts or projects…and save them to give it a try:

A Card Folio to Gift Away

Dropping a Valentine on a friend’s doorstep may not be a custom any longer, but with today’s project, you can hang a set of hand-crafted greeting cards on a friends door as a gift that shows you love them.

I get my best ideas when I should be asleep, and this one came just as I was laying down last night, so I made a quick note on the notepad next to my bed and woke up ready to try it!

All you need is a 12″ x 12″ piece of non-directional (meaning there isn’t a top and a bottom to the design) Designer Series Paper (or DSP), a Simply Scored board, adhesive and 24″ coordinating ribbon:

Instructions (also in video):

  • Fold DSP diagonally from corner to opposite corner, with the pattern you want facing out.
  • Lay fold (longest side) of your folded paper (a triangle shape at this point) along the left side of the Simply Scored board and score at 1/4″. Turn and do the back side the same way.
  • Turn folded side to the top edge of the board and score at 6″ and 11″. Flip the triangle over and score the back side on the same measurements.
  • Open up your paper and fold along the 1/4″ score lines just off center.
  • Open again and fold the outside points (along the 6″ and 11″ lines) IN towards the center. Flip and fold the top points back-to-back, with the center folds at the bottom, creating two pockets on the outside.
  • Punch at hole (or two) at the top to tie together (leaving a loop to hang from is optional).

I used up a lot of the bits and pieces of the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper I’ve had left over from other projects to create four simple cards (plus envelopes) to go inside the folio:

1″ x 3″ pieces of Designer Series Paper + your favorite punch
Or use a die with two contrasting patterns as background (Everyday Details Dies – NEW!)
Blend color on the plain Designer Series Paper images and emboss a greeting
Layer on 5-1/4″ strips from the same package of papers in varying widths and finish with focal point.
Don’t throw away the images on your Designer Series Paper that are on the edges! Cut them out and use them on the inside of your card!

Reverse Masking Thank You Card

Since the Bough Punch is on backorder, I promised to demonstrate card using Layering Leaves (featured as my August 3 for FREE stamp set) that DOESN’T need the punch, and I’ll be using this design as thank you cards this month because it’s quick to create.

The “Reverse Masking” technique is made even easier with the new Masking Paper from Stampin’ Up! and it was magic to demonstrate HOW to use it in this quick video:

The card layout was inspired by one of my Sprinkled Ink team members, Beverly Benson. We made a similar card at our June Retreat shoebox swap and I knew it would work with this fabulous set.

You’ll be happy to learn – or remember! – this classic stamping technique.

Add the Layering Leaves to any $50+ order from my Stampin’ Store in August and receive 3 free tutorials via email plus the consumable supples from me in the mail!

Shoebox Swap – Cards, Not Shoes!

At the Sprinkled Ink Retreat last weekend, we participated in a Shoebox Swap, but that doesn’t mean we exchanged empty shoeboxes 😜

Each demonstrator brought a #simplestamping card (some were not so simple!) and had all the pieces cut and prepared for everyone else to make, in a box (about the size of a shoebox, hence the name). We passed boxes around the table and you would make one as it came to you. It was a **flurry** of activity for a few hours…

Who knew crafting could feel like a workout? We were exhausted – but happy stampers! – by the time we finished 15 cards.

For my card, I used the Berry Harvest Background stamp and a sentiment from the Apple Harvest stamp set.

Want to make this card? Here’s how simple it is:

  1. Place background stamp face up and ink it with Soft Seafoam ink. Then dip a sponge dauber into Highland Heather ink and daub it onto the stamp where the berries are.
  2. Lay a 3″ x 4″ piece of Soft Seafoam card stock on top of the stamp, cover it with scrap paper and rub to transfer the image.
  3. Cut the stamped card into 1″ pieces on a paper trimmer and adhere in same order to front of Basic White 8.5″ x 5.5″ card using dimensionals, leaving a small space between each panel.
  4. Stamp sentiment on white scrap in Highland Heather ink and adhere to right panel(s).
  5. Add small bow of white twine on a glue dot.

Here’s a quick look at all the cards we created that night! WOW!

Just a reminder- ANY DAY is a great day to join my Sprinkled Ink Family and start your own Stampin’ Up! journey, but TODAY (June 30, 2023) is the LAST DAY of the Starter Kit+ Promotion. There is no risk to give it a try…and I am here to help you get the most from your experience! Click the image to get going:

Scottie Dog Loves You- Simple to Stepped Up

Woof! means “Welcome” to the October New at SU! Blog Hop. We really stretched our creativity to bring you not one, but THREE projects this month~ all using the same stamps, but ranging from simple to sensational!

Perhaps you are just starting to stamp, or you need an easy card in a hurry? Or you are ready to add a little “extra” to your card? Don’t worry, avid stampers, I’ve got something for you to make this card “over the top” too!

I’m using the Christmas Scottie bundle (stamps & punch) but with a non-holiday card concept…it could easily be adapted for a Christmas Card just by changing the colors and greeting.

Simple Card: 3″ x 5″ banner (use a 3″ x 1/2″ strip of the other side of the Designer Series Paper for the top), stamp and punch out dog, bow and add greeting. TIP: Remember to stamp your envelope(s) at the same time as you are stamping the card!

Step it up to a Casual Card: Add a 4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Soft Suede Designer Series Paper to the card background, tie a ribbon around the top of the banner and emboss the greeting on Soft Suede. Tip: Add a 1/2″ wide piece of card stock punched with the Banners Pick-a-Punch behind the heat-embossed sentiment to make it look like a banner:

To step it up to an Avid Card: Score 1-1/4″ from the right edge of the card and fold it back. Add 1″ strips of Designer Series Paper to the flap and inside right edge of card and 2-3/4″ 5-1/4″ panels of Designer Series Paper and basic white card stock to front left side and inside card. Banner: 3-3/4″ x 3″ (DSP) and 3-1/4″ x 4″ Soft Suede. Add Iridescent Rhinestones.

TIP: Only adhere banner to the front flap so it can open like this:

Wherever you are on the Stamping Spectrum, you’ll discover multiple ways to keep it simple OR step it up at all these amazing posts along our October Hop…Pin your favorites to remember them!
