Let’s Hear It For the GUYS!

It’s easy to make frilly cards, but not so easy to create for the men in our life, but the new Guy Greetings stamp set offers TONS of versatility to create for husband, father, grandpa, etc. When I saw the Friday Mashup sketch 202, I knew instantly what I wanted to create!

Since the challenge was to “mash-up” this sketch with a masculine theme, here is the finished card:

My favorite is the little nuts and bolts made from silver foil card stock! And on the inside:

Hoping the Guy Greetings set makes it into the new catalog because it is so MANLY! Get yours in my Stampin’ Store!
If you need more masculine cards, mark your calendar for the “Moms, Dads, Brides and Grads” card class which will be on Saturday, May 9th in Spanish Fork, Utah! More details coming on my events page and my Facebook Events Page soon!

Candy Corn & Paper Piecing Mashup

A sure sign of fall isn’t the falling leaves or cooler temperatures…it’s the CANDY! Remember when you could ONLY get candy corn in Autumn and Peeps at Easter? That was before they started making pastel corn for Easter and Peeps ghosts for Halloween…ah, the good old days…

I’ve been thinking about tags lately, so this popped into my head when I saw the Friday Mashup challenge (mashing up a fall food theme and paper piercing, FM128) and the Freshly Made Sketch (FMS104) this week:

The paper piercing was inspired by Patty B (but on a smaller version of hers). Here’s how I made the candy corn:

So there’s a sweet treat double whammy (or is it a triple?) for you today!
Project Recipe (all supplies from Stampin’ Up! unless noted):
Stamps: Sweets for the Sweet stamp set
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry
Paper: Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper (132184), card stock: Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla, Whisper White

I’ve needed to make birthday cards for my Stampin’ Family, and the sketch over at Create with Connie & Mary inspired me to make this simple, shapely and cheerful greeting (with a little embossed bling on the birthday)!

Dress Up a Holiday Gift Card

The sketch over at Create with Connie & Mary this week gave me an idea: A hidden gift card pouch! Here’s my card for the CCMC 229 sketch:

But here is the fun little twist: It swings on the Rhinestone Brad!

And here is the back closure:

When you untie it, surprise! A pocket to put a gift card in!

I created the pocket/envelope using the Simply Scored tool and Diagonal plate from Stampin’ Up!: Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (from the Candlelight Christmas pack in the Holiday catalog) to 6 1/2″, then score on two sides at 3 1/4″ and on the other two sides at 2 3/8″.
