Bah, humbug to BLACK Friday. The only black piece of clothing I own is a pair of slacks I have to wear for the community choir, and would prefer a color, anytime. Can’t we call it “Happy-Shopping-in-your-slippers Day?” Maybe it doesn’t roll off the tongue…however, Stampin’ Up!’s holiday sale on some of our basic blocks of crafting starts today (and ends on December 1st)…and there is plenty of color to choose from!
If I had to choose between Basic White and Very Vanilla card stock, I’d pick Vanilla. It’s just a softer, elegant color. Both are very smooth to stamp and color on, and since the Stampin’ Blends Markers are on sale (and so is Vanilla card stock!), I made a card using a new November Online Exclusive bundle called Valentine Kisses that is unBEARably adorable:
The dies for the hugging bear even cut out a slot to tuck in a heart, a teddy bear or a bouquet of flowers!
I’m going to offer a Virtual Class using this bundle in January, and if you order it from my Stampin’ Store, you’ll receive an invitation to join the class!
And these cute bears aren’t stuck as Valentines, this card could be sent to anyone needing an extra squeeze:
Stock up on during the Black Friday sale on some of your basic crafting supplies, like adhesive and basic card stock. And if you have a newlywed couple, a new crafter or a teacher on your shopping list, snag a paper trimmer at 40% off as a gift!
Have you browsed through the Online Exclusive section of my Stampin’ Up! store recently??! There are so many hidden treasures there, and THIS is one of them:
I loved the little camper so much that I used it for the last card swap with my Sprinkled Ink team!
This card paired the Stampin’ Up! Adventure Together bundle with the Everyday Skies Suite Collection (another Online Exclusive must-have) for a snapshot of camping under the stars and stories around a fire. Doesn’t it make you yearn for warmer weather?
It was wonderful to see how it paired with many of the designs in the Everyday Skies Designer Series Paper, and this one shows a different color combination and skyscape:
Which do you prefer- The blue night sky filled with stars or the purple clouds of the evening sunset? Comments are at the top of the post near the date!
While Christmas is just around the corner, Sale-a-Bration is right on it’s heels!
Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration is the best time of the year because when you SHOP or JOIN, there are extra products to choose as a bonus. Let’s take a first look at one of the stamp sets you could choose free with a qualifying purchase: Friendly Seagulls
Rather than coloring the seagulls, I colored AROUND them with Stampin’ Blends markers, creating a seaside sunrise (or sunset?) background. I fussy-cut around two of the birds to set them in front.
The set comes with a few different sentiments than what I used here. For this card, I added words from the “Saying Hey” stamp set from the annual catalog.
If you have ordered from me in the last year, you should receive a January-April mini catalog AND Sale-a-Bration brochure in the mail this month! If you don’t yet have a demonstrator serving you in the U.S., I’d be happy to send you both, simply shoot me a message!
Like this card? It makes me happy to hear if it makes you smile~ scroll back to the top of the post and leave me a comment!
When we take the grandkids for Ice Cream, COLOR is always the biggest factor in choosing which flavor to get! According to their thinking, the brighter the color, the better it tastes?
For a hand-stamped birthday card today, the colors were chosen by the weekly TGIF Challenge, #tgifc484
I’m a big fan of images that pop out of the frame, and that concept works well here.
A quick swipe of the White Craft ink pad over the eyelet-embossed Daffodil Delight background allowed me to emboss it with white embossing powder – if double scoops of ice cream are better, so is double embossing!
Top if off with some sprinkles (Iridescent discs sparkle and catch the light, and they are flat for mailing as an added bonus) and you’ve served up a cute birthday cone!
By nature, I enjoy the season I’m currently living in. However, I can affirmatively claim that FALL is my favorite!
The new “Changing Leaves” bundle was sitting on my craft desk (freshly upacked from a pre-order for new Online Exclusives coming July 2nd) when I saw the TGIF Sketch Challenge – so here we are:
The simplicity of this sketch allows the details of the stamped image and the hybrid embossing folder to take center stage:
These are the colors I chose for my card:
Clever crafters may be asking, “Does Stampin’ Up! have Mossy Meadow ribbon? Or Blackberry Bliss jute twine?” and the answer is NO!But you CAN color the Basic Beige ribbon with the dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend Marker and the Moody Mauve jute trim with the Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend Marker! Because the blends markers are alcohol-based, it doesn’t take long for the trims to dry before adding them to your paper creations.
Being able to order new products EARLY is one of the perks of being a demonstrator! Don’t suffer from FOMO…you can join my Sprinkled Ink team of demonstrators whenever you are ready.
It’s CATALOG PREMIER DAY and I am doing the happy dance! Do you have a favorite suite of products? Or pretty paper you can’t resist?
My top pick will be no surprise: The Mediterranean Blooms Suite reminds me of the island of Capri, Italy and that’s where my inspiration came from for this card…plus, I have a tutorial for you!
Lemons are plentiful in Capri, and while I chose to use Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends to color my citrus fruit, it still feels like the island, with the blue & white tiles that reflect the ocean.
I’m still enjoying the sun in another beautiful part of the planet, so I’ll update links when I return, but you can start shopping today at my Stampin’ Store!
Meanwhile, print out this tutorial and be prepared to answer the call of Capri- by mailing a little sunshine this summer:
If there were a contest for the “most cheerful flower”, don’t you think ZINNIAS would take the prize?
Today’s card(s) feature the Simply Zinnia bundle (an online exclusive available now in my Stampin’ Store) as well as the 2024-2026 In Color products that will be in my store on May 1st!
This slanted background is a handy template to remember (or PIN!) because you can create TWO cards in about the same time it takes to make just one!
It all starts with a 6″ x 3-3/4″ piece of In-Color Designer Series Paper. Mark it at 2″ on the bottom long edge (on the back side of the design you want to use) and at 4″ on the top long edge. Then cut it from the 2″ mark to the 4″ mark. Layer each of those pieces onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic Black card stock and you are halfway done.
TIP: The leftover 6″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Designer Series Paper fits perfectly on the flap of your envelope, giving you terrific coordination!
Watch the tutorial (speed it up, if desired) to learn how to finish up the card:
And why stop at 2 cards when you can make 10? Two in each of the 2024-26 In Colors: Petunia Pop (shown above), Summer Splash, Peach Pie, Pretty In Pink and Shy Shamrock!
These colors coordinate beautifully, so you can even mix up the colors on the flowers- with the alcohol-based Stampin’ Blends markers, the colors bleed together smoothly:

Florals are always timeless, and the many ways you can use the Enduring Beauty stamp set is endless! Today I’ve colored the blossoms using Stampin’ Blends for the Global Design Project #GDP437 color challenge:
Shrinking the space to stamp the large floral image allows me to zoom in on just a portion where the butterfly lands:
I added a hint of Coastal Cabana to the paper butterfly accent with blending brushes to give it color like some of the pretty butterflies we saw at the Cockrell Butterfly Center in Houston when we were there for Stampin’ Up! OnStage last week. We had a few close encounters (like my Sprinkled Ink teammate Kristi, shown here) and it was delightful to immerse ourselves in floating and fluttering winged things!
Cutting out a few of the flowers to curl and pop up on my card gives it the dimension to make it feel like it’s coming alive off the canvas- makes me want to let it land on my finger, just like our fun experience.
While difficult to see in photos, a bit of Wink of Stella brushed onto the butterfly wings gives it a pretty shimmer. Yes, WInk of Stella has been backordered for a LOOONNGG time, but we just heard from Stampin’ Up! that it should be back in stock SOON!
Stripes are a dynamic pairing with florals, so I added some 1/2″ strips of card stock at the bottom and embossed the sentiment over the the top.
On Monday, I’ll be demonstrating the coordinating masks that come with the Enduring Beauty BUNDLE which also includes the coordinating dies I used here, so tune in on my Creative Juice by Loni Facebook Page or YouTube Channel at 12:30 pm MT time to watch live, then order your own bundle from my Stampin’ Store to create with!
Welcome to the February New at SU! Blog hop! We want to show you how to use products from the January-April Mini catalog to create simple cards, with the option to “step them up”. Hop all around the world to see what our design team created for you!
Starting off simple: Blueberry Bunches are beautiful simply stamped on a Crumb Cake background and a white focal point! A strip of Glorious Gingham DSP brings a country-fair feel to this simple card.
Step it up by die cutting the top layer from the Everyday Details dies and color the blueberries with Stampin’ Blends.
For AVID crafters, you can really create a masterpiece when you:
Emboss blueberry branches in white on a Blueberry Bushel card base
Add a few layers of card stock and Designer Series Paper
Watercolor the fruit on watercolor paper using ink refills or watercolor pencils (use StazOn ink to stamp image for watercoloring).
Fussy cut the blueberry bunch and pop it up using dimensionals
Use Stampin’ Blends to color basic rhinestone jewels for added sparkle
Remember to stamp a layer for inside the card, if the base is a dark color, and don’t forget to stamp your envelope to match!
Scoot off to visit these simple-to-stepped-up ideas and leave a comment on your favorite posts or projects…and save them to give it a try:
