Lean on Me

“When you meet someone, treat them as if they were in serious trouble, and you will be right more than half the time.”  – Henry B. Eyring

So many times we struggle alone, but it is our duty and privilege as human beings to “comfort the weary and strengthen the weak” (an excerpt from one of my favorite hymns). When I wrestle to know what to say or how to help, I turn to crafting to help  express what I cannot adequately convey, and the love just flows out of my hands.

This striking line art Artfully Aware stamp set is a blessing to have in your collection because it allows you send a hug made from card stock to someone who is hurting or fighting a battle:149447G

Here is a simple card I created that I know I will mail often:

Isn’t our burden lighter when we know someone else is there for us? Even if they can’t do anything, prayers and love are tangible in our lives.

I used the same design to create another card for any cause you wish to support as this set also coordinates with the Support Ribbon Framelits. I used Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party for these cards, you could easily change the colors to match the ribbon color of any disease. Watermarked2(2019-04-12-0937)

Sale-a-Bration Coordination

Watermarked6(2019-03-26-1002)

It’s been fun, but the Sale-a-Bration party is winding down…with only 5 days left to add a free item (or two) to your collection, I wanted to show off a few very versatile items that will allow you to craft through all four seasons of the year, but HURRY, many of them are only here until March 31, 2019!!

painted

The Painted Seasons Sale-a-Bration bundle has DinsINKtive stamp images for Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall, along with a pack of coordinating Designer Series Paper that is a splendid variety (those toadstools are adorable!). You can choose this bundle FREE with a $100 U.S. order, and the other supplies to create these cards can help you collect a qualifying order!

To make the coordination and your crafting even easier, there is a matching framelit die set for the flowers and leaves and the More Than Words stamp set has greetings for multiple celebrations (and which, coincidentally, has sentiments for almost ALL of our S-A-B 2019 stamp sets): Both are available to purchase for a only few more days.

Let’s take a look at the details of these cards:

It’s a simple fold that really makes your card more exciting to open and the Stitched Rectangle Framelits are a necessity in your die cutting collection.

Make the world a brighter place: Stamp a card and mail it to someone today!

Humming Along Thank You

This card was inspired by my friend and team-mate Amy Minson (a.ka. Lilypad Stamper): She had done some gorgeous coloring with the Stampin’ Blends markers and this flower from the Humming Along stamp set, so I wanted to try it too!

Watermarked(2019-01-15-1005).JPG

This is an example of the MASKING technique: You stamp your flower first, then stamp it onto a Post-It note, with a part of the flower over the sticky end. Cut out the Post-It flower along the lines of the image and place the flower over your flower stamped onto the white card stock (this is why you need some of the sticky part of the post-it…to keep it in place).

Next, you stamp the words ALL OVER THE FLOWER (covered in the post-it mask) and off the edge of your paper. Once you are done stamping the words, REMOVE the post-it note to reveal your clean flower that looks like it’s in front! Now you can color it and layer the card together.

COLORING TIP: Outline your image with the light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend marker to make it really pop!

Valentines Aren’t Just for Lovers

The season of love doesn’t have to be limited to one single significant other. This is a wonderful time to recognize friendships as well, and I’d submit that your girlfriends might appreciate hearts and flowers much more than your man would!

This is a Valentine that you could add photos, notes or gift cards to, and is part of an envelope banner you’ll create at my “Craft Your HEART Out” class coming on January 26th, but it’s perfect by itself:

It’s an accordion fold that spills out when opened, with spaces to write personal notes, add photos, or insert gifts or gift cards into smaller envelopes:

The “All My Love” Designer Series Paper in the NEW OCCASIONS Catalog is richly romantic and you’ll think of so many ways to use it: For wedding cards, gifts, home decor, etc. And don’t miss the coordinating All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack.

Spirited Snowman & Year End Closeout

Have you had your first snowfall yet? While I prefer viewing it from afar, it’s covering my front yard and that makes me want to stay indoors…and craft.

So it’s a good time to share a tutorial for a SNOWMAN card! Most of the products are on the Year-End Closeout sale that began today: Some items are about to be discontinued and some are discounted for extra savings.

Before I share the card, I wanted to mention that some of the items in the discounted section make AWESOME gifts, too! The Christmas Traditions Punch Box just needs a ribbon and it’s ready to set under the tree and includes stamps, clear block, punch and two ink spots. At 40% off, it’s a fantastic steal:

On to the adorable snowman card ~ it could be used for a holiday greeting, a thank you card or even a winter birthday wish!

Focus on the Words

In card-making, we often let an image be the focal point of our card, but try letting the WORDS in your stamp sets take the spotlight once in a while:

Watermarked(2018-10-09-1455)

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Country Home stamp set this fall, but wanted to find a way to use other pieces aside from the pitcher and milk can. I started by letting the words fill the center, then stamped and sponged the flowers around the edge in Mint Macaron and Fresh Fig.

Stealing the show, though, is that lovely Tin Tile Embossing Folder! If you haven’t picked it up (along with the Galvanized Metallic Paper), make sure it’s on your next order.

Holiday Wreath Class

It’s important for me to recognize Thanksgiving BEFORE Christmas, so I’m owning that season in my home decor currently, but as there are not a lot of Thanksgiving songs, I do have the Christmas tunes playing on repeat.

Soon I’ll put up a tree and switch out my fall wreath, and I thought it would be fun to make a Holiday Hoop Wreath for my front door, so let’s make them together:

There is sparkle and shimmer, grazing deer and fir trees! You can choose “Happy Holidays” or “Merry Christmas” as your greeting, too:

You could certainly order all the supplies to create this yourself, or you can come to the class and make it for just $15!
