Snuggling in a Sweater & Sipping Cider: Gift Pouch

An excuse to wear a warm sweater and drink hot cider is always welcome, so as I was demonstrating this cute card on Facebook Live today (despite having no sound for the first minute), my friend suggested that it would be a perfect pouch for a hot drink, and I concur…so here it is as a pouch:

It’s simply a landscape card with the opening at the top and the sides sealed to create a pouch.

I was following the #GDP054 sketch from the Global Design Team (turned it on it’s side) and playing with the fabulous new Cable Knit Dynamic Designer Textured Embossing Folder (and it’s a mouthful!). It’s so *snuggly* you’ll just want to rub your hands across the embossed paper over and over again.

TIP: Spritz your card stock on both sides with water before putting it in the folder and remember to only use ONE plate on top when running it through the Big Shot. Your “sandwich” will look like this (from the top to the bottom):

Autumn Color Challenge

There is a briskness to the air in the mornings now, and it makes me hungry for Autumn! It is my favorite time of year…thus, I believe it is time for a color challenge!

Here’s what I created using my color challenge and the Global Design Team sketch #GDP052 (when I really should have been working on my newsletter…but I’m the queen of procraftination!):

Watermelon Banner: Sweet Summer Stamping

Summer is slowing down, but the produce is perfect! We are swimming in peaches and apricots and I’ve enjoyed some delectable watermelon, too…and it’s a fruit, so completely guilt-free.

I was inspired by my friend Jeanna’s Summer & Sunshine framed art on her blog a few weeks ago and thus, when the TGIF “CASE your Fave” challenge came up, her craftiness was the first thing I thought of. And I love banners, so this was the brain-child that resulted:

Arabian (or Moroccan) Nights: Lantern Card

We received the Moroccan Nights stamp set at OnStage in April and at first I was like, “ehhhh…” but then I decided that I was going to USE it and LOVE it!! I’ve been making myself experiment with it and WOW it’s pretty versatile! I’ll share a few of my creations AND a tutorial for my favorite so far 🙂

I stamped the large medallion as a background on this Flirty Flamingo card and then embossed the “Oh happy day” from the new Scenic Sayings set (that I won during Prize Patrol at OnStage!) in white embossing powder. The beautiful ruched ribbon (available in the 2016-2018 In-Colors) really steps up this simple card, don’t you think?

Then I wanted to try a see-through card so I stamped on a window sheet with a black StazOn pad and added pieces of the fabulously exotic Moroccan Designer Series Paper to the front and inside. The Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim just happens to be a perfect blend between Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim, which are the In-Colors used on the DSP and on this card.

And this one is my favorite! I splattered water over the ombre-sponged background to create the Bokeh look and it turned out pretty awesome. You can download a .pdf tutorial HERE.

Bloomin’ Gift Jar (+Tutorial)

While I enjoy making cards, my favorite things to create are both beautiful and useful. So this idea came to me while on vacation and would be perfect for Mother’s Day as well as the birthday version I created here:

I did a Periscope as I was making this (yep, I’m there as Creative Juice by Loni) and some of the ideas to fill it were M&M’s, Jelly Beans, Buttons, Love Notes, Prayers, Soup Mix, Cookie Mix and Ideas. What would you fill it with?

March (Paper Pumpkin) Madness

My March Paper Pumpkin kit came in the mail yesterday and so I pushed EVERYTHING aside to create (and by that I mean I literally shoved things off my desk and onto the floor…)

It was my goal to use EVERY. SINGLE. PIECE. in the kit and I am proud to say “Mission Accomplished”!

I posted them over on my Creative Juice Facebook page individually, but here’s a collage to inspire your own creativity:

For one of the gift card holders, I made it into a Mother’s Day coupon book (lots of free printable coupons out there, but the one I used was from I Should Be Mopping the Floor and just printed them in B&W, two sheets to a page so I could cut and bind them in the middle.

Mojo for a 20th Anniversary

20 years ago my sweet friend Ann had been a customer for a while and finally had to ask me if she could be a demonstrator…and of COURSE I said YES! And what a journey we’ve been on together. It’s the greatest of blessings from sharing what you love when you find a like-hearted friend!

Inspired by the Mojo Monday challenge #438, I crafted this card to send her (to match the flowers she should be receiving today):

The colors I used were Daffodil Delight, Eggplant Envy, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Cucumber Crush and can I tell you that EVERYONE needs the Number of Years bundle to celebrate moments that COUNT?!? So incredibly versatile!

Classy Black & Gold Wedding Wishes

Weddings are quite personal with color themes running through the events from invitations to decorations (and even the food!) so as often as I can, I create a card to match the occasion. But sometimes they come in bunches and I just need a card NOW, so I came up with this classy black and gold version that seems to do the trick for any formal event.
