A Zesty Birthday, with Stripes!

Put on your sunnies for this amaZING birthday card, with a lot of ZEST!

Why not have ALL the citrus? I’m squeezing the most out of this Sweet Citrus bundle from the mini catalog…it’s been so much fun to play with!

I’m going through my strips of card stock now, looking for more ways to incorporate bold stripes on my projects, because this one turned out just so cheery! Make your own by printing out the tutorial below.

A Card Good Enough to Eat

Have you ever wished you had a card on hand to lift the spirits of a friend? If you answered yes, let this one be the one you always have in your box!

These remind me of the “In case of emergency, break glass” cases: Sometimes acting like a grown up is difficult, and we all know CHOCOLATE helps. So you may need to break one of these open at any moment.

The cards are also the SWAPS I made for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local. I’m headed to Anaheim this weekend for our annual convention (OnStage) and demonstrators always swap cards at events; make multiples of the same card and trade with other demonstrators so you have a wide variety of samples to inspire you when you get home!

Though they are simple, they are certainly SWEET!

Stamp a stack to keep in stock, but don’t eat all the chocolate! Here’s what you’ll need:

Coloring On Vellum, the Easy Way

Vellum is beautiful, but a few of the challenges with it are:

  1. Stamping and coloring on it (because of the coating on the paper, it takes forever to dry), and
  2. Adhering it so you can’t see the adhesive.

For this card, I die cut a frame to adhere the vellum to and colored it on the back side with Stampin’ Blends, which don’t leave streaks and dry quickly because they are alcohol based:

As paper crafters, we hate wasting paper so I have another tip: Make TWO cards at a time to most effectively use your card stock. You can cut the frame from the center of one color and use the outside edge as a matte for your Designer Series Paper for the other card (watch video below):

The In the Moment stamp set works perfectly with the New Horizons Designer Series Paper and with these sentiments, I can imagine sending it to a friend to encourage them to take some time off from the hustle-and-grind. They are excellent reminders that self-care is also taking time to unwind!

Here’s a short HOW-TO video and you can order the supplies from my Stampin’ Store by clicking the links after that:

I’d Pick You, Pumpkin!

Admittedly, I’m team Pumpkin Spice starting September 1st. Ten days into the month and I’ve already indulged in a least that many different treats made from this glorious gourd, so I needed to make a card that declares my devotion.

After you download the tutorial and create your own card, would you share a link to your favorite pumpkin recipe in the comments? I’m always looking for the best things to bake with pumpkin this time of year!

Just a quick reminder: Today is the last day to register for the Fall StampFest in Southern Utah on September 25th and get a discounted ticket! Click the image to go to the event registration page:

What’s New at SU!- Harvest Hellos

Whats new (2)

Falling leaves, pumpkin spice, cool weather, apple cider and a Fall-Themed Blog Hop with Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the globe who love sharing ideas with you: Does it get better than this?

I’m using the Harvest Hellos bundle from the 2019 Holiday Catalog today, with a twist on traditional Halloween colors: I like the CUTE part of the holiday, so Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Calypso Coral comprise my basic color palette:

Betcha can’t look at that pumpkin without smiling!

If you think all white card stock is the same, you haven’t tried our ULTRASMOOTH card stock!! I stamped the pumpkin on that amazing Whisper White card stock in Calypso Coral ink, then used a blender pen to add more of the ink to color him in.

IMG_2942-(W)The Stitched Rectangle Dies make the layers on this card in a snap, add a little vinery by way of the Sprig Punch, and you’ve got a pumpkin patch!

I love it when you say “Hi” and leave me a comment, then hop on over to Diane’s blog for another happy fall project or back to Judi’s Country Home project page:
