Twisted Easel Card Love You Berry Much

A card that pops up to say hello always brings a little extra fun to the mailbox. This one does just that with a playful twisted easel fold that lets the sweet strawberry jar take center stage. This is how it fits in the envelope as a flat card:

The trick is to fold your card base from the front lower left corner back along the fold as evenly as you can. If you’d like to score it, mark at 1-1/4″ in from the top right corner and score back to the fold on the opposite corner. As you open it, it twists and props against the raised strawberry on the inside of the card:

I created this card using the Filled with Sweetness Bundle from Stampin’ Up!®️ – which we are playing with for a few days on Creative Juice by Loni – and the little strawberries make it feel like you’ve captured sweetness in a jar! “Love you berry much” seemed like the perfect message for a grandchild. It’s the kind of happy mail that could arrive in a mailbox hundreds of miles away… and still feel like a hug.

This week inside my VIP Facebook Group, we’re having a fun brainstorming session about long-distance grandparenting through snail mail. Many grandparents can’t always be nearby for everyday moments, but a handmade card can travel where we can’t. Imagine a grandchild setting this card on their desk or dresser, the strawberry jar standing proudly like a tiny reminder that Grandma or Grandpa is thinking of them!

Make an order of $50+ (before tax & shipping) from my Stampin’ Store and you’ll receive a set of 19 exclusive papercrafting tutorials (including another great idea for the Filled with Sweetness bundle from me!), a handmade card AND you’ll be invited to join my private Facebook group for my VIP customers!

Handmade cards don’t just carry ink and paper. They carry love, encouragement, and a sweet connection across the miles. 🍓💌

Say HELLO to Your Monthly Creative Escape

Do you make consistent appointments with the doctor or the dentist to stay healthy? Do you have an exercise schedule or beauty regimen? Those promises you make to yourself for your well-being are the most important ones to keep, so make a pact to improve your connection with friends and to nurture your creativity:

Say HELLO to your monthly creative date – one you can do on your own, or with a friend!

A Paper Pumpkin craft box arrives in your mail on or before the 20th of each month filled with everything you need to make a paper-crafting project: Pre-cut paper, an ink spot in a Stampin’ Up!®️ color, adhesive and an exclusive stamp set. There are also step-by-step instructions in the box AND a how-to video on YouTube each month. Your FIRST kit includes a clear block – keep it handy for future kits!

This is a sneak peek of the July kit – the deadline for this kit is July 10th, but you can subscribe anytime and get the next kit!

The Sweeter With You July Paper Pumpkin Kit will be a card kit that makes 8 cards: 4 each of 2 different designs featuring sun-kissed strawberries and gingham!

One other perk for subscribers is an optional Add-on die set each quarter that matches the kits for all three months. The July-September coordinating Add-on is the Circle of Seasons dies:

And here is a card I made with the Circle of Seasons Add-on dies to whet your appetite for a sweet crafting subscription!

From a silver foil “Hello” to the mouth-watering fruits, this card is quintessential summer! But that’s not all…the dies ALSO cut an ACORN (which will match the September kit!)

As a subscriber, you may add an extra kit for yourself or a gift, shop from extra kits or refills, skip a month, or cancel at any time. I send a Paper Pumpkin Patch newsletter to my subscribers the last week of every month with ways to continue to use their stamp set and ink spot after the kit is completed!

If you’ve ever wanted to attend a class, but couldn’t — if you need a happy hobby — or if you just love paper, ink and stamps– THIS SUBSCRIPTION is a way to show yourself (or a friend) a little love.

Copying MYSELF- Something Old, Something New

On Monday, I demonstrated how to use the catalog to find layouts (card sketches) to copy, but have you ever made a card you loved so much, you copied yourself?

This is a card I created for a swap at Stampin’ Up! BackStage (a leadership event) to swap with the New at SU! design team:

This isn’t all of the team, but these demonstrators come from all over the globe and we’ve been participating in blog hops once a month for a few years to bring you ideas (see previous post!). Those of us in Las Vegas in August met to swap cards and capture a picture, so I used the Curved Occasions stamp set to make a special card for them. We are each holding the cards we exchanged:

I liked the layout of that card, so when I opened the Simply Sparkling bundle (an online-exclusive product you can find in my store), it made sense to re-visit the same design:

The strawberry Designer Series Paper is a design in the Delighfully Eclectic Mega-pack and I’ve been wondering what it would coordinate with: Apparently it was in anticipation of this bundle 🍓

Card Measurements:

  • Card Base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
  • First layer: 3-1/4″ x 5″
  • DSP strip: 3-3/4″ wide by 1-1/2″ OR 2″
  • Stamped layer: 3-1/2″ x 2-1/4″
  • Mat behind stamped image: 3-3/4″ x 2-1/2″
  • Sentiment Strip: 2-3/4″ to 3″ wide and as tall as needed for sentiment

If you need a disco ball or roller skates in your stampin’ stash, collect the Curved Occasions stamp set – or bundle- before it retires (and on sale at 10% off). These are the supplies for the Happy Day Card:

Lemon Lolly, Sweet Sorbet and Black

Friday is a good day for stretching those creative muscles, so I jumped into this unique TGIF Color Challenge!

Once I saw the colors, I went to my stamp collection to choose a stamp set. I hadn’t inked up the new SUPER COOL stamps yet, and the cake roll image reminded me of a red velvet cake:

It needed just a little something after I stamped (and fussy cut) the greeting, so I pulled out the teensy strawberry die from the So Refreshing dies to mimic the fruit on top of the cakes. Just “dip” them into an ink pad to really show off the texture from the dies…

It’s BONUS DAYS at Stampin’ Up!

Hope you make time to ink up a new stamp this weekend, too!

Sweet Strawberry: 3 for Free

I have a thing for FRUIT (Creative JUICE, after all) and I love a coordinating punch, so it comes as no surprise that the FIRST thing on my list from the January-June Catalog was the SWEET STRAWBERRY bundle:

Stampin’ Up! made it SWEETER when they offered the Berry Blessings Bundle as a FREE choice during Sale-a-Bration for a $100 order…a coordinating stamp set to my beloved strawberries AND matching Designer Series Paper? YES THANK YOU!

Naturally, I’ve been playing with it night and day since I got it. I dream about berries! Yesterday, I made this card so I could see both sides of the Designer Series Paper and you can watch the tutorial to make your own version.

If you are as obsessed with these beautiful berries as I am, you’ll be happy to know that the Sweet Strawberry bundles is my 3 for Free kit in January 2021: When you order the bundle from my stampin’ store, I’ll send you the consumable supplies to create 3 projects with your new bundle ~OR~ you can come to my JAM-BERRY class in Utah County on January 23rd and stamp your projects in person with me for free!)

You will need a few items on hand to complete the projects. These items will not be included in the kit:

  • Ink Pads: Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Real Red, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Tuxedo Black Memento, Whisper White Craft ink -OR- Versamark pad.
  • Heat Tool
  • White Emboss Powder

If the Sweet Strawberry bundle is on your list for “later”, move it to the top so you can take advantage of the opportunity to get the Berry Blessings bundle during Sale-a-Bration AND my 3 for Free projects!

Sweet, Just Like You!

There is more to the Cool Treats bundle than just ice cream: Like this adorable Strawberry Card! But hurry: While the stamps and dies will be in the new catalog, you can bundle them together and save 10% before May 31st, and after that day, the Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper will be retired!
