New at SU! Perfect Partners: Apple Harvest

Like a burger & fries, Sheldon & Amy, or apple pie & ice cream, some things are BETTER TOGETHER.

Like rubber stamps & coordinating dies.

Which brings me to our September NEW AT SU! Blog Hop Theme: PERFECT PARTNERS: We are showing you how coordinating dies make your stamps more enjoyable and versatile! There are also a few SEPTEMBER-ONLY Perfect Partners you DO. NOT. WANT. TO. MISS.

This is my friend Lou Ann (who is also my Sprinkled Ink team member). We’ve served in church callings together and now we stamp together, and I love her efficiency, effort and energy. This frame just captures my love for her!

The Apple Harvest stamp set was in the July-December Mini catalog, but the coordinating dies are LIMITED EDITION and can only be purchased this month! If you purchase the bundle (stamps + dies), you save 10%.

In addition to the dies that cut out the stamped images, I appreciate that there are a few “extras”; like the apple blossoms (two different sizes), multiple leaves (so you can cut a whole tree of leaves at once), a long label and a scallop border.

This box holds an apple-shaped bath bomb I picked up at our local farmer’s market from Soak and Lather Soaps. I demonstrated how to make this box on my Facebook Live last week…you can watch the tutorial, but I’ll warn you that the sound was horrendous (time for a new phone).

You can pick up a wood frame from the Dollar Tree, trace the shape and cover it with Designer Series Paper (a complete coat of liquid glue works great on the back of the paper), then decorate it as desired.

Which of your friends deserves a reminder that they are a blessing in your life?
Don’t miss some of the other Perfect Partner pairs…along with some classic stamps & die combinations from the other wonderful demonstrators in the hop:

An Apple A Day

…keeps the boredom away! The Apple Harvest bundle is sure to inspire your creativity as it has mine; To be honest, the stamp set from the July-December catalog wasn’t really on my radar at first, but when the Perfect Partners Promotion introduced coordinating dies for the Apples, I perked up and paid attention! Fair warning: You may be feasting on many apple-inspired projects over the next few weeks.

Thanks to the #tgifc385 sketch, this was an idea that woke me up at 3 am:

Aside from the dies that cut out the apple images, there are LOTS of leaves (making it easier to cut out many at one time), a branch, different sizes of flowers that can be used on their own, a long label (I cut mine down to fit the THANKS sentiment), and my favorite: A double scallop! The scallop can cut a scalloped edge or a fine detail…like I used on my card.

Also being used a LOT in my current projects are the Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels…they pick up whatever color you stick them on and add a rainbow sparkle. Who can resist that?

There’s my inspiration – and to get you inspired, check out ALL the Perfect Partners pairings…but don’t hesitate! The coordinating dies (and thus, the bundles at a discount) are only available during September 2022 (or while supplies last).

Summer Weather, Fall Card

It seems funny to be stamping an autumn card in a record-breaking heat wave (111° in Southern Utah today), but like Pumpkin Spice season, you can’t stop me from showing up in hopes that the fall weather will catch up to my crafting. Besides, Fall is also the theme for the Global Design Project #gdp359 and it gives you time to add these seasonal items in time for your fall crafting.

My card started with the Leaf Fall 3-D embossing folder on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock:
Using sponge daubers to add ink from an ink pad to an embossed (raised) image gives a messy, windblown feeling, even if it’s not happening outside…yet.

Alternately, you could color the leaves with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers:

Because leaves are individually “one-of-a-kind”, I used a sentiment from the the August Paper Pumpkin kit on my Leaf Label. ***Remember to look through the stamps from your past kits*** when you need the perfect greeting! (Not yet a subscriber for monthly craft kits from Paper Pumpkin? Try it– you’ll love how fun and easy they are to assemble by yourself or with a friend.)

Back to the Leaf Fall embossing folder: Don’t limit yourself to fall colors! Look at how lovely the leaves look colored in Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Petal Pink, and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends, then cut out and grouped on a card:

So which will you try? Sponging or coloring your embossed images with Stampin’ Blends?

Right Tools for Embossing; a Bewitching Card!

Crafters always want to know where to get an embossing tray like mine, and now you can! The Embossing Additions Tool Kit is available again (for a limited time?) in the July-December mini catalog, and I showcased it today under a little heat…um, I mean heat embossing.

Actually, the air conditioning converter at my house went out, so I was sweating and stamping at the same time! Not to worry, the repairman came after my video and fixed it. But not before I forgot to show you how to use the Reverse Tweezers in the kit. Oh well, the magic of editing helps.

And not only did we emboss, but I showed how to create a mask from the Dots & Spots die for the background! Keep the mask you create in the envelope with the die and I promise, you’ll find excuses to use it often with your blending brushes. The die is one of the products added to Sale-a-Bration in August and you can see the rest of the freebies-with-qualifying purchase HERE.

Just remember that there are two item numbers for the die: Item #159164 for PURCHASING the die, and item #163098 if you want to redeem it free with a $100 purchase during August 2022.

Watch the how-to video, then get shopping to get your Embossing Addition kit while it’s back in the catalog:
