Simply Thanks

I admire demonstrator Brian King’s style: It’s always clean and simple and I confess I’ve CASE’d (Copy And Selectively Edit) more than one of his designs. This week, he was the designer at the Global Design Project:brian_king_case_gdp108

It happened that a sneak peek stamp set from Stampin’ Up! was sitting on my desk (Color Me Happy), so I pulled it out early this morning to create my card inspired by his:

And if you want another peek at another product I’m THRILLED about (or perhaps, the RETURN of a beloved product…redesigned and even better!):

These color “like buttah” and the coordination is on point! I cannot wait until I can announce when they will be available for customers. Watermarked4(2017-10-11-1036)

Card in a Box

If you have a passion for paper, you’ll be thrilled to know that during October, you can buy 3 of select Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! and you’ll get one FREE! You can mix and match as you stock your paper pantry, too.

Today on my Facebook Page, I demonstrated how to create a “Box in a Card”:

You’ll be seeing these adorable cards (with a box inserted) popping up all over the place! I used the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and Birthday Delivery stamp set to embellish the card, but my favorite detail is the Mini Bow on the top of the box.

I’ve been wanting to find a reason to use these bows, so I’m tickled to find that they are perfect for this box-in-a-card.

Happy coincidence: If you happen to be reading this between October 1st-10th of 2017, we are also celebrating World Card Making Day with a sale on Fast Fuse and stamp sets that match our Designer Series Paper Sale:

Support a Fighter

October isn’t only about ghosts and goblins, it’s also about the girls! This month, send a pink card to someone who is fighting (like a girl) through Breast Cancer:

Don’t stop with PINK…you can make this card in any color you want to show your awareness, love and concern for those in any battle! This is one of my favorite charts showing ribbon colors for causes. I made these versions of the card with colors for Type 1 Diabetes (blue and gray with a drop of blood), Alzheimers (purple) and Heart Disease (red) :

Simply Citrus

My Stampiversary is over, but the last thank you cards need to go into the mail. It seemed only natural to make some “creative juice” cards to encourage the customers who ordered from my Flash Sale to live with ZEST!

Using the words from a stamp set as your background can make a dramatic impact: For this card, I stamped once with my stamp loaded with Lemon-Lime twist ink, then stamped again without re-inking it and then ONE MORE TIME for the lightest impression.

Thanks to the Global Design Project for coordinating the color challenge to support my theme (not really…it was just good luck):

I added a little Daffodil Delight to the palette so I could include the lemon, and now I’m off to write my appreciation to my customers!

Card Starters, Part 2

Swapping card starters at our last team meeting really kicked me into creative gear!

This was Sally’s card starter and her card to the right, followed by my version (everything’s coming up daisies!):

Amy opted for a tag as her card starter and I thought Santa wore his suit in style!

Who can resist a stamp with a coordinating punch? The Merry Little Labels bundle makes more than gift tags, as Beverly showed with her card, and I bundle up when it snows, so I paired my starter with a sweater:

And finally, there is always room for Ice Cream! Pam stamped this SWEET starter and I couldn’t resist pairing it with Pool Party (stripes and polka dots are always in fashion!)…and have I mentioned how addicted I am to the crinkled seam binding ribbon??

Hoping this inspires you to create something today!

Get Togethers & Card Starters

I’m blessed to have so many great friends on my Stampin’ Team and in August, some of us met up for lunch and stamping one Saturday:

Swapping ideas is a staple activity at any meeting, but we chose to exchange “Card Starters” this time: Some crafters call them card candy, but they are just small focal points you use on a greeting card and I’m sharing a few of them today.

Mary McGill used this Adirondack chair from the Seasonal Layers thinlit dies, which captures the last sunset of summer in perfect form. Used on three different cards, it’s fun to see how a card starter can inspire many different ideas!

Next is Chelle Scott’s gorgeous version of “Deck the Halls” from the Carols of Christmas stamp set: The layer of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper catches your eye when you see it in person and no matter which way you look at it, it’s a fabulous focal point for a Christmas card.

Mine was a simple label from the Merry Little Label bundle in the new Holiday Catalog, punched and layered on a silver glimmer paper layer. I love how the new Everyday Label punch layers beautifully on the Lots of Labels Thinlits dies.

While my Stampin’ Team is named “Sprinkled Ink”, we have a larger group that meets together in person and online called “Stitched Stampers” which encompasses demonstrators in the Utah area and beyond: We include any demonstrators (and potential demonstrators) who would like to work on their business with like-minded, positive and uplifting folks and there is always room at our table for more stampin’ friends.  Join my team anytime!

Designer Series Paper Takes the Spotlight

Remember when I said the only paper products Stampin’ Up! offered 25 years ago were white? It makes me grateful for all the amazing choices we have in 2017! Especially when they are as sumptuous as the “Whole Lot of Lovely” Designer Series Paper pack:

This paper (DSP) popped into my mind when I saw the #GDP102 sketch:

Plus, I’m crushing on the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon right now (it’s on SO MANY of my latest creations, but it just makes the *loveliest* bows…), so here’s my take on the sketch:

The sentiment (stamped and die cut from the Lovely Friends bundle) just pops off the card, but the paper definitely is the star of the card!

Peace in the Aspens

Did your Holiday Catalog arrive in your mailbox yet? And have you pre-ordered the new Carols of Christmas bundle yet? If the answer is no, you need to contact me ASAP!

One of the most peaceful places you can find is the beautiful Aspen trees in the mountains and they are comforting in the spring, summer, fall or winter. That tranquil feeling inspired me to create this card using our Woodland Embossing Folder and the Carols of Christmas stamp set:

Watermarked2(2017-07-11-0739)

This is an easy technique to try: Open your embossing folder and on the side with the recessed image, drag your open Tranquil Tide ink pad across the bottom a few times, then do the same with the Dapper Denim ink across the top.

IMG_4890

Once your embossing folder is inked up, you’ll put your card stock inside it and run it through the Big Shot- that will give you a lovely background!

To finish this card, simply emboss the greeting on Tranquil Tide card stock in white and add some dazzling diamonds glitter to the tree trunks with multipurpose liquid glue:

The Holiday Catalog goes live September 1st, but you can order this bundle and everything else to create this card in my Stampin’ Store NOW!

Girl~ You are Fabulous!

My friend and teammate Amy *is* pretty fabulous (just check out her work on Lilypadstamper.com to see for yourself) and just promoted to SILVER, so it is time to recognize her complete awesomeness…how nice that TGIFChallenges made the #tgifc121 theme this week all about her!

And with a sassy finger-snap, I fancified this card to be included with a gift to recognize her marvelous achievement:

Watermarked(2017-08-18-1559)

Of course, I added a little SILVER bling to commemorate the occasion and make it extraordinary. The Label Frame is a sneak peek at the “Labels to Love” set coming in the Holiday Catalog on September 1st, and coordinates with a new punch! Together, they look lovely layered on top of the Lots of Labels Framelits, don’t they?

If you are cutting the card stock in half to create a card, you may as well make TWO cards, so I have another waiting in the wings for the next team member who promotes~ It’s such a delight to see my Sprinkled Ink Stampin’ Family progress and promote, and there is always room at our table for friends to join our team
