Easy Easel Daisy Card

When you stamp a card, you hope the recipient to enjoy longer than a store-bought card, and one way to do this is to let your card double as desktop decor:

I chose to use the Daisy Delight Bundle (along with the Label Me Pretty Bundle) because it’s BACK IN STOCK and you really can’t live without it. Plus, each stamp set co-ordinates with a punch, and when you get them as a bundle, you save 10%.

See how easy this is?

Thanks for shopping in my Stampin’ Store when you need quality crafting supplies! I love serving you as you craft creative connections.

Sweet Cupcake CASE

In the world of stamping, to CASE means to “Copy and Share Everything”: This lines up nicely with the quote, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” which ironically enough, is attributed to both Oscar Wilde and Charles Caleb Colton…so clearly, one of them was imitating the other!

Which brings us to my project today: This week’s Global Design Project Challenge #GDP100 was to “CASE the Designer” and there are many creations worthy of copying, but I was immediately drawn to the adorable colors and simplicity of Allison’s Coffee Cafe card: alisonglobaldesignproject

I’m not a coffee drinker, but would love a pink hot cocoa cup with a dollop of whipped cream!

To CASE her card, I put my own spin on a treat using the Sweet Cupcake stamp set (one of our photo-realistic 3-step stamps) and demonstrated this project on my weekly Facebook Lunchtime Crafting LIVE:

A Carol of Christmas

While I am a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas in the stores before we celebrate Thanksgiving, I believe one can listen to Christmas Carols All. Year. Long. It helps remind us to have goodwill toward men during every season, not just the holidays!

If you are needing a little Christmas cheer in your heart (and in your craft room), you’ll be happy to know that you can pre-order one of the best bundles in the holiday catalog a month early:

Shareable-1_Carols_Xmas_Demo_Jul2017_ENG

I love the classic look of this bundle of products with Basic Black and Very Vanilla:

Gold embossing powder and gold foil sheets really shine against the dark background for a quick and elegant card!

Next I switched the vanilla and black layers and pulled out the new Sheet Music background stamp to add the musical element. The embossed the ornaments add more pizazz on the Deck the Halls card:Watermarked2(2017-08-01-1402)

By getting an early start on your Christmas Creations, you’ll have a much merrier holiday, so visit my Stampin’ store to order using my August 2017 Host Code AVHZ6WQH ~ and remember to redeem your BONUS DAYS coupon(s) if you earned them in July!

Gingham and Pig Tails

Did you know that I am LIVE each Monday at 12:30 on my Facebook Page? Today I showed how you can cut up your stamps to make them work better for your crafting needs and we made this stinkin’ cute card:

Watermarked2(2017-07-31-1300)

Each of the This Little Piggy stamps comes with a saying attached to it, but if you order the clear mount stamp set and cut off the words, you can use the pigs alone, or mix and match with the greetings!

Switch around the colors, and add a gingham ribbon, and you’ve got another card (which my guests created at the Card Class last Saturday): Watermarked1(2017-07-31-1300)

Because my Mother-in-Law has the largest pig collection in the western hemisphere, this card is off to thank her for the birthday gift she sent!

Pop-Up Card on a Global (Design) Scale!

Usually I’m a simple crafter, but this card demanded to be spectacular for the Global Design Project Colour Challenge…

The background scenery really took center stage on this card: The Hardwood and (new) Sheet Music background stamps were combined with the Layered Leaves embossing folder to create a sumptuous canvas for the Lovely Friends stamp set…but wait until you see the inside!

Every time I open this card, I have to say “TAA DAA” out loud!!! This is the first time I was able to use the Lovely Laurel Thinlits and they were actually surprisingly simple:

It looks daunting, but I edited a quick video to show you how easy and quick it goes together:

To achieve a ombre look on the sentiment, I inked the top half of the stamp (DECK) in Real Red and the bottom half (HALLS) in Old Olive, then I used a sponge dauber to add Cherry Cobbler ink to the bottom of DECK and Garden Green was sponged at the bottom of HALLS:

Cheers to 50 Years!

Hello July! This month is my birthday month, but let it be known that I’m NOT turning 50:

I’m 18 with 32 years of experience!!!

However, many of my friends *ARE* reaching this fabulous age, so it is time to make a few cards to commemorate their “experience” and the color challenge over at the Global Design Project seemed spectacularly celebrational.

This Little Piggy Found Zen

IMG_4596

This little piggy is happy it’s Friday!

Today’s card was inspired by #tgifc113 and the fact that the “This Little Piggy” stamp set was sitting on my desk, begging to be used today.
2523tgifc1132bbokeh2btechnique

So if you’ve never tried the Bokeh technique, I’ll show you how I did this one (there are a few different techniques, but this one is the easiest for me). I started with a piece of Pool Party card stock and sponged Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo in circular motions on the top. It won’t look pretty at this point. Never fear~ It gets better!

Next I took a Window Sheet and punched different sizes of circles in it. You could also use the circle framelit dies and your big shot. Lay this over the top of your dried, sponged card and apply plenty of Whisper White Ink with a sponge dauber. Remember to make some of the circles go off the edge of your paper!

I like to find a circle stamp (or two) in some of my other stamp sets to add a few stamped circles after the sponging too. This little circle was pulled from the “Sweet Home” set, but any will work. IMG_4593 Next I stamped the happy pig on top using Night of Navy ink and also stamped it on Powder Pink card stock to cut out. I don’t mind a little fussy cutting to make this cute guy really pop off the card. FullSizeRender 7

The flower was stamped/cut out from Daffodil Delight and as I wanted to keep it clean and simple today, I simply added a few of the new Glitter Enamel Dots in keeping with the Bokeh theme:

Ready to try your hand at the Bokeh technique? Thanks for shopping for the supplies in my Stampin’ Store!  Remember to use my host code (posted in the right column) if you are ordering less than $150 as I draw a name for a free gift each month from friends who use the code. If you order over $150, you get to choose Stampin’ Rewards with your order!

Live with Zest!

I’m a sucker when it comes to a stamp set and coordinating punch…but then Stampin’ Up! made the Lemon Zest stamp set with citrus fruit and this was a NO BRAINER for my Creative Juice!

Made this card LIVE on my Facebook Page yesterday morning: Did you know I have Live Lunchtime Crafting each Monday at 12:30 MST? Tune in as you eat your midday meal to get some extra Vitamin (C)reativity:

Watermarked(2017-06-19-1420)-2

The fruit on this card is stamped on glossy paper (welcome back!) and uses Lemon Lime Twist (one of the 2017-2019 In-Colors), along with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie:Watermarked(2017-06-19-1425)-2

The Lemon Zest stamp set comes in wood mount or clear mount and when you bundle it with the Lemon Builder punch, you save 10%:145360g

Finally, this little cutie (see what I did there?) was made even sweeter by adding a few Lemon Lime Twist tiles cut from the Stitched Shaped Framelits behind the orange slices, which are perfectly punched out using the 1-3/4″ circle punch! Of course, on the inside of this card is the “Live with Zest” sentiment:Watermarked(2017-06-19-1425)

Hope you’ve enjoyed this slice of citrus fruit crafting and thanks for shopping for your own “creative juice” in my Stampin’ Store!
