Fanc-ify with Christmas Labels

Perhaps it’s the reader in me, but I am a typophile (someone who appreciates a pretty FONT). Stampin’ Up! combined lovely label dies with the gorgeous typography in the Christmas Labels stamp set, and it was a must-have BUNDLE for me.

The way a label can elevate a simple card or gift is what I wanted to demonstrate in a video tutorial:

These were the projects made during the video. The first card features the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the shiny gold accents aren’t as visible in the picture, but can be seen in the video:

Next is another simple card layout spotlighting a piece of the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper, and showed how to create a contrasting matte behind the label by cutting a second label in half:

I’m sharing easy cards to encourage you to keep your holiday crafting attainable! No need to overthink it, or add stress.

Layer a color over the center of the larger label for a striking contrast, add a coordinating ribbon and the tag makes a basic box beautiful:

When bundles (stamps + dies -OR- stamps + punches) are introduced to my Stampin’ Store, they are 10% off the price of purchasing each product individually. CLARIFICATION: In the video, we thought the Christmas Label bundle and Christmas DSP would be in Seasonal Sale that begins tomorrow (11/13/24), however we learned that only bundles and patterned paper in the Annual catalog are included in the Seasonal sale, along with most ink and card stock:

Peppermint Gift Crate

As you begin to think about gifting, don’t overlook the supplies you already have! Pair your stamps and patterned paper with a small wooden crate (found at 💲🌳) and create packaging so sweet:

The Take a Bow Designer Series Paper has candy cane vibes, and a few thin strips can be attached with a good coating of Liquid Glue to the slats on the box, then add a label with a sentiment. Finish it off with stamped adornments and embellishments (the tiny Peppermints will be back in stock mid-November) and fill your crate!

The More than Autumn bundle has truly been scrumptious to play with! Filled with mouth-watering treats for Fall AND BEYOND, you’d regret not having it in your stamping studio.

3 Stampin' Up! Sentimental Wishes Tags for Christmas

New at SU!- Sketches are for Tags, Too

Sketches are a Stamper’s secret design tool, and not only do they work for greeting cards and scrapbook pages, sketches also help you master a GIFT TAG…and a beautiful tag will level up any gift!

For our October New at SU! blog hop, I selected 3 tag sketches from page 16 of the September-December Mini catalog and combined those sketches with a set of products that evoke classic Christmas vibes.

The sketches gave me a starting point for my creativity, and a suite of Stampin’ Up! products helped limit my options, which actually makes it easier to be artistic. All supplies are listed at the end of this post.

The Joy/Candle tag mostly features stamping the images from the stamp set:

The stocking tag shows how you can cut some of the images from the Designer Series Paper with the dies, which also match the stamped images:

Finally, the Very Merry tag puts the focus on the sentiment:

The wonderful thing about tags is that they dress up any gift, along with a bit beautiful ribbon ~ see how they make a Kit Collection box fancy? Remember that all the kits are ON SALE this month (see below).

But that’s not all! Tags are adorable on a greeting card, as well:

Not only are tags a miniature piece of art, they are also a terrific way to use up scraps! Try cutting some of your smaller pieces of card stock into tag shapes, and have them ready to pair with a sketch.

Tell me what you think of these tags- leave a comment link at the top of the post!

Hey Pumpkin card, Stampin' Up! Warms My Heart

Warms My Heart- Choose Your Own Adventure

A stamp set that covers multiple seasons and occasions is a good investment, and when it’s as cute as the Warms My Heart images & sentiments, there are so many stories to tell with it!

Do you remember the “Choose Your Own Adventure” book series? That’s what we did today during my Monday LIVE video on my Facebook Page & YouTube! I let those who were watching in real time CHOOSE the season, the background, the colors and the label shape for the card we created, and THIS is the result:

If you want to watch us make this card, here’s the video, and if you want to see some alternate options, keep reading:

This style of card would be just as cute with Designer Series Paper for the background, and created for Christmas!

With both of these cards (and the next) I colored the stamped images with Watercolor Pencils and blended them together with Wink of Stella, which is every crafters FAVORITE tool for adding a wash of SHIMMER & SHINE. However, it’s very difficult to capture in a photo! This one is as close as I could get: The texture you can see is really specks of sparkle!

Another option, still keeping it simple with the sentiment on a banner, but without the need to fussy cut (there are no coordinating dies for this set, FYI):

Just so we’ve used every piece of this set, here’s an autumn apple-picking version, in portrait:

When you purchase both the Warms My Heart stamp set and EITHER the Sketched Plaid background stampOR – the Forever Plaid 3-D Embossing Folder (back in stock the week of October 7th) during October 2024, I’ll email you a tutorial for another set of cards – one more for each season!

Top Flip Fun Fold Pumpkin Card Open

A Top-Flip Fun Fold Card

Simplifying an idea today with this flip-top fun-fold card! I wanted to use the “Warms My Heart” stamp set, which doesn’t have coordinating dies, so opted to use a panel I could stamp on as the focal point. The Everyday Details dies has these darling dots around the edge of the rectangles, and don’t need much dressing up. Plus, the beautiful pumpkin patch on the bottom of the patterned paper needs to be seen:

The top flap (with girl carrying pumpkins) flips up and there is a second message that matches the theme on the top of the card:

Finally, you open the card all the way and you can make a pocket with the other large piece of Designer Series Paper to slip a gift card in!

Here are the paper supplies you’ll need (with the ones I used for the card above in parentheses):

  • Card base: 8.5″ x 5.5″ scored at 4.25″ (Cajun Craze)
  • Flap for over top: 5.25″ x 2.75″, scored at 4.25″ (Cajun Craze)- watch video for paper-saving TIP!
  • Layer for inside card: 5.25″ x 4″ (Basic Beige)
  • Two rectangle “frames”: Largest die from Everyday Details (Basic Beige)
  • One rectangle matt: 2.5″ x 4″ (Pumpkin Pie)
  • Designer Series Paper: 5.25″ x 4″ and 5.25″ x 2″ (Splendid Autumn)

For the Pumpkin Spice drink layer, I used the More Than Autumn bundle (you’ll see more of that bundle on Wednesday!)

After this How-To video, you’ll find the Christmas version of this simple fun-fold card!

Here’s the same card pattern using the image of the woman with the holiday wreath:

While this version could also hold a gift card, I chose to make it a normal card and on the inside, and simply added a strip of the back side of the Designer Series Paper to the inside to make it fancy:

The Christmas Version features the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper which is our “Craft & Give Back” product: For each package ordered, Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to Firstbook.org to support Children’s Literacy. So Very Merry Gingerbread House Christmas Card

Sweet Treat Challenge + New Online Exclusives

The Sweet Treats theme for the TGIF Challenge this week got me dreaming of sugar plums…

We’ll call it “Christmas in July”!

This was the #tgifc479 challenge to start our creative cogs turning:

The So Very Merry stamp set is not in the catalog, but *IS* still in the Online Exclusive section of my Stampin’ Store, and I embossed the gingerbread house on a banner cut from the Nested Essentials dies, then colored it with watercolor pencils and added Wink of Stella to the candy for sparkle (all supplies listed below). Though it’s hard to see in a photo, trust me that the treats glisten in the light!

Speaking of Online Exclusives, there are NEW ADDITIONS to that section of my store, and you’ll have a hard time choosing between the frightfully fun Halloween, the elegant Autumn or the gorgeous Holiday offerings. You have my permission to choose all of them! And there is MORE than just these shown.

Back to my gingerbread house card, the supplies I used are below and feel free to use the idea for your holiday mail, if you love it!

Slide-Up Gift Card Holder for All Occasions

The Trucking Along bundle (an Online Exclusive in my Stampin’ Store) is an all-occasion crafting set of stamps and coordinating punch and today I’ll demonstrate how to make a slide-up gift card holder to present gift cards, money, gift certificates or other flat items for ANY occasion:

This is the outside of the holder and below you’ll see the holiday version we created at the Christmas Card Class in Cedar City a few weeks ago. When you open the card, the pocket slides up to show the gift inside!

You probably noticed the coordinating envelopes…as long as you are stamping the truck for the front of the card, you may as well stamp a second time on the envelope to make it festive!

Cutting and scoring instructions:

Card base (I used Fresh Freesia for the birthday version): 11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 1-3/4″ and 7-1/4″, plus the same color card stock 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ for the mat on the top layer.

Sliding insert: THICK white card stock 6-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ scored at 1/2″, then flipped to the back side and scored at 5-1/4″ (I explain why in the video)

Designer Series Paper: 4″ x 3″ for top layer, 3-1/2″ x 4″ for top part of card and 1-1/2″ x 4″ for bottom section.

Watch for the tips to make this easy to assemble:

If your significant other starts asking what YOU WANT for Christmas (because it is now less than 2 weeks away 😆), did you know I offer gift certificates? They can be used on an order through me and/or toward one of my classes or events! Send them my way and I’ll take care of them (and you).

If they are really early, they could take advantage of a JUST ANNOUNCED one-day of FREE SHIPPING on December 14th (on orders over $75):

Make It Yourself: Paper Snip Gift Box

Just as bakers are always thrilled to receive a new spatula (my favorites are from Pampered Chef), CRAFTERS are delighted to add another set of scissors to their collection! The Paper Snips from Stampin’ Up! are essential for fussy cutting, plus you can make a second pair “ribbon only” scissors.

The trick is how to WRAP a gift that’s triangular shaped, and I have just the tutorial for you today!

This box is PERFECT for SNIPS and can be created for the holiday season OR any other time of gifting.

Start with a 12″ x 3.5″ piece of card stock OR Designer Series Paper, then follow the instructions here (warning: I make a mistake at the 6 minute mark, but quickly get back on track!). The layer starts with a 5.5″ x 3″ piece of card stock or Designer Series Paper.

Tip to make this box for any size: Measure the triangular object you want to wrap and add 1/2″ to the length and double it, then add 1/2″ to the width. That’s how I got the size of paper to begin my box with!

Here’s the box opened:

If you start with card stock and add Designer Series Paper, keep the two sides you trimmed off and layer them on the sides of the box- they fit perfectly and keep the “scene” wrapping around the edges:

I’d love to hear if you make these boxes- comment or tag me on social media @creativejuicebyloni on Facebook or Instagram.

A Card for a Christmas Carol

Do you have a favorite Christmas Carol or holiday tune? Mine is this one:

The TGIF Challenge #448 from Friday was to create a card inspired by a beloved piece of seasonal music~

I used “Come Lord Jesus” to create a card that could also be displayed as part of the true meaning of CHRISTmas:

While I had prepared this card to demonstrate showing how to use the Night Divine bundle with different Designer Series Paper (since the coordinating “O Holy Night” paper is sold out), sometime over the weekend, the “Joy of Christmas” Designer Series Paper that I used ALSO sold out during the Last Chance Sale

THUS, I pivoted at the last minute and used patterns from the Joyful Specialty Designer Series Paper to demonstrate in my live video:

Card measurements:

Card base: 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 2, 3-3/8″, 7-5/8″ and 9″ along the long side.

Designer Series Paper for outside panels: Two pieces 4″ x 1-3/4″, (optional: two pieces 1-1/4″ x 4″ for the middle side panels, if you want it to pull all the way out).

Card stock for center (and/or back panel): 4″ square

If you were able to order the O Holy Night, I did make a version using that paper as well as an example:

I have two 6″x6″ Paper Shares left that have a sample of EVERY Designer Series Paper from the Sept-Dec mini catalog (EXCEPT the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper which sold out too fast). It is discounted to $25 (pick up) or you can pay shipping to you…first come, first served! Each pack DOES have a 6″ x 6″ piece of ALL the patterned papers on these nativity cards.

Thank you for allowing me to fuel your creativity! Here are the supplies used in the video:

Christmas Ornament on a Card

Each Monday, I think about what I can create to serve you, my crafting community. It wouldn’t be lying to say sometimes I loose sleep over it! But I count it as a blessing to bring you inspiration, so I took the opportunity to figure out a Christmas Card that would also have an ornament to hang on the tree because I know that things may be tight for some folks right now, and this pretty card + gift is a thoughtful way to share some light this season with friends and neighbors without breaking the bank.

The card is very simple: A 8.5″ x 5.5″ Wild Wheat card base with a 3.5″ x 4.75″ Pool Party stamped layer on top of a 3.75″ x 5″ Real Red layer.

Thick white card stock is needed for the banner at the top, but as I explained in the video tutorial (below), you can also cut out two banners and glue them together for more stability. I only added dimensionals to the left side, so you can slide the ornament off the right side. Remember to slide the card into the envelope fold-first, so when the recipient pulls it out, the ornament comes with it!

Embossing the angel image makes coloring with Stampin’ Blends (or watercolors) really easy to stay inside the lines, because they are raised! Plus, the gold makes it look LUXE! I left the angel’s dress white and just added Wink of Stella for a subtle shimmer.

Watch the video tutorial, then I would appreciate you ordering any of the supplies you need from my Stampin’ Store, if this inspired you to make some!
