Heartfelt for Valentine’s Day

Are you ready to spread some love? That was my first thought when I saw the Global Design Project Color Challenge, since those colors just happened to be out on my desk anyway:

This is the card that was born:

You may notice an image that isn’t in the Heartfelt stamp set (the heart outline that says “with love”)…that was from the January “I’ll Bee Yours” Paper Pumpkin kit and coordinates with the Heart Punch Bundle, and it felt perfect for the project:IMG_4394-(W)

If you are planning to shoot a few Valentine cards off, you need to get your supplies ordered soon! IMG_4401

Give My Regards to Broadway

My husband and I recently experienced New York City for the first time with our daughter and it was a surprisingly wonderful experience. From biking around Central Park to the Statue of Liberty, we painted the town for 3 days (and I found some creative juice)!

My favorite part had to be Broadway, though. I began my college career with the intent of studying musical theater, so that has a place in my heart. We only had time to see one show and we chose “Dear Evan Hansen”.

Do NOT miss the opportunity to see this incredible musical (by the same guys who wrote Greatest Showman) if you get the chance: But don’t make the mistake I did of going without a box of kleenex. And I *ugly cried*.

Today I wanted to pay tribute to that amazing vacation with a stamp, of course! So here’s one you are going to love playing with: The Broadway Bound suite from Stampin’ Up!

This project was also inspired by the the #tgifc163 sketch challenge:

Know what else is TOTALLY AWESOME about the Broadway Bound suite? The June Paper Pumpkin Kit is going to coordinate with it!

Did you notice the “subscribe by” date? Yep, that’s TODAY. So if you are reading this after June 10th, you may have to cross your fingers that they have some kits left that they will post for sale around June 26th…but you still have to be a subscriber to order them, so what are you waiting for?

Every Last Piece: Paper Pumpkin August 2017

When I opened the August Paper Pumpkin box yesterday, I decided I was going to finish the projects and use Every. Single. Piece.

Once I finished making a few of the cards as shown in the kit, I got a little more creative (as shared yesterday) and finished off the cards but still had die cuts and leaf stickers left over! So I grabbed some whisper white card stock, some painter’s tape, some sponge daubers and 3 ink pads: Peekabook Peach, Pool Party and Pear Pizazz (not included in the kit). Here’s what I did:

I taped the edges of the paper down and used the empty die-cut pages as a stencil for sponging flowers! Add a few leaves and sponge around the edges, and when you peel back the tape, it gives the illusion of layers…pretty neat, eh?

IMG_5046

All I had to do next was add the pre-printed sentiment die cuts and embellish with the leftover goodies: IMG_5047

All left-over leaves and flowers found their way onto the envelopes:

Crafting Out of the Box

Some folks like to follow a recipe and others enjoy creating something from scratch: With a Paper Pumpkin kit, you can do either…or both!

The June Paper Pumpkin kit was fabulous for summertime celebrations (see the video I shared on June 19th)…here are the projects as shown in the kit~ it had supplies for 6 cards and 4 bags:

Then it was time to try mixing it up a little! What else could I do with just the items in the kit, but not make them all the same? Let’s see…

Made a few different tags and cards, then put the banner on the INSIDE of the card to pop up when the recipient opens it!

Once you’ve created all the projects in your kit, you still have the stamp set and ink spot(s) left over, so add a little more card stock, a different color of ink and maybe a few accessories and keep on creating:

It’s almost MORE fun to find different ways to use the supplies than it is to follow the instructions! Should you need more inspiration, may I suggest joining the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club group on Facebook? You’ll be blown away at the creativity shared by other crafters with their kits~ and find hundreds of ways to get the most of your Paper Pumpkin kit!

Subscribe to Paper Pumpkin before July 10th to get the next awesome kit for yourself or a friend.

One in a Melon

At our house, everyone knows that MOM goes to the mailbox~ and on happy days when there is a red box inside, it’s like my birthday!

IMG_4566

I may have squealed out loud when I saw the new box design! Polka-dots!

And check out what is inside…it’s One in a Melon!

I can take this box with me (plus a pair of scissors) to the ballgame, in the car on a road trip or even poolside to craft while I’m enjoying the season’s best activities because it has everything I need.

Once I’ve created the projects in the kit, I can use the stamps and ink to create other projects: I’ll share some later this week, but here are a few alternate projects from Stampin’ Up!
