Plaid Tidings: 3 for Free Class Kit

When a stamp set works for more than one season, it’s a great investment. When you can get it in a bundle with dies that could be used for ANYTHING, it’s as good as if you had invested in ZOOM in 2019.

I’ve chosen this collection of products to be my “3 for Free” class in September 2020: When you purchase the Plaid Tidings Suite from my Stampin’ Store, I’ll send you the consumable supplies to create 3 projects and the tutorial for the projects will hit your email inbox before the supplies arrive in your mailbox!

It was delightful to invent this new fun fold~ calling it the Label Flap Card:

Here’s the video tutorial…count it as ANOTHER card you can create with your new supplies!

The Christmas version of the same card:

There are a few things you’ll need to complete the 3-for-Free class kit. You may substitute ink colors or adhesives you already have in your craft studio as well as a compatible die cutting machine (like the Big Shot). If you need any of these supplies, you may add them to your order at the same time.

Suggested Supplies:

Ink pads: Memento Black, Cinnamon Cider, Pretty Peacock, Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce.

Stampin’ Blends: Pumpkin Pie Combo

Other: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Simply Scored ~or~ Stampin Trimmer, Blender Pen, Stampin’ Seal Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Small circle punch, stapler

Theater Card: Whale of a Time

This is a card you send to someone you really *really* REALLY love… and they are going to love it, too!

IMG_6468-(W)

We made this at our July stamp club so you don’t need to be cautious to try it: It’s easier than it looks and the trick is to cut the basic pieces first.

Once you’ve made one Theater Card, you’ll want to make another. I’m here to make it easier for you with a video tutorial and cutting guide (see below).

Before I give you the cutting instructions, I wanted to tell you that today is World Day against Human Trafficking: Did you know we have more people enslaved now than ANY other time in the world?  And of the 30 million current slaves, 10 million are children? I’ve supported Operation Underground Rescue as my primary charity since I learned about this pernicious plague 3 years ago, so I’m linking arms again today and tomorrow with O.U.R. to help make a difference and your order will help!

savingPNG

Thank you for considering how to help make a difference and Rise Up for the children. Now on to the instructions for your Theater Card pieces.

Cutting Guide:
Cut the following pieces from the same color of card stock:

  • (2) 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
  • (2) 4” x 5-3/8” scored in landscape position at 1-1/16” and 2-5/8” (watch video for instructions to cut slits)
  • (2) 6-1/4” x 3/4” strips, scored on each end at 1”
  • (1) 1-1/4” x 4-1/4” trimmed to an i-Beam (see video)

Designer Series Paper (DSP)

  • 5-1/4” x 4” for front of card
  • 3” x 4” for back of “stage”
  • 3/4” x 4” for front of I-Beam (optional)

Tips:

  1. Layer the largest piece of DSP on the front of a 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” panel (don’t adhere them together yet). Use the 4th largest Stitched Rectangle die to cut a window in the front of both
  2. Adhere the DSP frame to card stock frame, and cut the piece of DSP from the inside of the frame in half to use for the “curtain” later.
  3. Use the Multipurpose liquid glue: It has some “wiggle room” while it is wet, then a firm bond once it dries.

Masking (Crafting, not Covid)

The Mini Catalog Inspiration

Long before it was a Covid-19 thing, stampers were masking – in a fun way!

Masking is a simple technique that blocks off areas of a project to create white space. It can create a faux layering effect or highlight an area for a greeting or focal point. Masking can be loose and artsy with torn edges or precise straight lines or shapes depending on what you use to create your mask.

This card also features several new products from the gorgeous Flowers For Every Season Suite:

Celebrate Sunflowers Masked Card

Use a sticky note to cover the section of the card you want to leave blank. Stamp over the top and color image, then remove the sticky note to reveal the blank space. Add a greeting or border, as shown on the finished card.

TIP: Sticky notes are ideal for creating torn, punched, or die-cut masks because they are thin and the sticky section helps hold them in place temporarily without damaging your paper or cardstock.

What’s New at SU! – A Mini Bonanza

Whats new (2)

Welcome to our blog hop through the January-June Mini Catalog: Our group of demonstrators from around the world look forward to sharing ideas that you can incorporate into your paper crafting using Stampin’ Up! products.

I’m showcasing my favorite part of the Bonanza Buddies Suite: The tag die!

151566g

The size of the tag is generous and gives you plenty of room to stamp. These are two tags I made to use on my grandchildren’s birthday gifts:

IMG_5027-(W)

The stitched edge around the tag is a detail that adds a finishing touch. Plus the animal “buddies” fit on the tag with room for a sentiment. IMG_5028-(W)

You don’t have to stop at a gift tag, take that tag and put it on a card, too:

IMG_5161-(W)

As you are hopping through the blog posts, pause to leave a comment and grab a notebook to jot down creative ideas, draw a card sketch you want to try, color combinations you love or pin them to a Pinterest board!

Jump on over to Germany and Anke’s stamp studio next…or if you are going backwards through the hop, you can skip back to Mary Ann’s post:

NEXTPREVIOUS

You can order the products we are showcasing in the hop from your demonstrator!

If you don’t have a demonstrator and live in the U.S. I’m happy to serve you. You can shop the products I’ve used today in my Stampin’ Store.

Ornate Garden Specialty DSP Card

The think I love MOST about the Early Release Ornate Garden Suite is the DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!152488g

Some of the sheets of this paper (inspired by Victorian Foils) have gold foil designs on one side and they are so very frilly and feminine: IMG_5145-(W)

This card is a unique way to see BOTH sides of the paper by using the DSP as your card base. I’m sharing a tutorial and you can click on any of the project pictures to download it! It opens up accordion style like this: IMG_5146-(W)-1

If you struggle with die cutting detailed dies (like the ornate frames in this suite of paper crafting products) I shared a TIP on this Facebook Live Video that will make die cutting SO MUCH EASIER for fancy things like this!

Got a lot to say in your card? Add another layer of card stock in the first fold and you can write a longer message to the recipient: IMG_5147-(W)
