When you want to mail something a bit fancier than a regular birthday card, try this very versatile design: It folds flat to fit into an envelope, but pops open to stand up and the frame makes it feel like a piece of art:
It’s simple to create and I made the video to help you step-by-step:
Just push in the folded sides to slide it into an envelope:
While the Framed Florets bundle (stamps and dies) are also in the Stampin’ Up! 2023 January-April Mini Catalog which goes live for customers on January 5th, THE BEAUTIFUL Designer Series Paper is a preview exclusive only through January 4th, so DON’T MISS IT.
Do you ever get overwhelmed with all the options in your craft room? This quote, which I heard on a podcast recently, really resonated with me, and for crafters, it’s GOOD ADVICE:
“Creativity THRIVES on LIMITATIONS” – Sarah Jane Wright
It got me thinking about what helps me to be creative, and she was correct: When I have parameters to work within, I’m always more productive and imaginative! For instance, a card sketch is a limitation:
A sketch constrains you to stay within the prescribed boundaries, with a few options for making it your own, as I did by twisting the background for the Global Design Project sketch #gdp374 a bit for my card:
I also “limited” myself to (mostly) the 2022-2024 In Colors as my color palette. It seemed the best choice for a FIESTA!
I “sprinkled” the images from the Taco Fiesta stamp set (item #167032, available 1/5/2023) across the glimmer paper 2-3/4″ square to capture the feeling of a party (with chips & guac). You can watch the creation of the card in my video replay:
Starting TODAY, the Fitting Florets Collection (a pre-release from Stampin’ Up!’s 2023 January-June Mini Catalog) is ready to add to cart – with some of the limited time products only available while supplies last! The BUNDLE will be available through June 2023, but you’ll want to get the whole collection ASAP to use through the holiday season.
To make this fold, you need a piece of 8.5″ x 5.5″ card stock and score at 3″ and 7.25″ along the longer side with the Simple Scored board (or your paper trimmer and scoring blade). Layer on a piece of 5.25″ x 2.75″ Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper (available only while supplies last) on the front left side of card and a 1″ x 5.25″ piece on the front right flap.
The Framed & Festive stamp set could be combined with ANY Christmas paper, stamps and accessories and the font makes is playful and perfect.
One way to play with this new collection will be to attend the Christmas Card Class THIS SATURDAY, November 5th at 3 pm in Hurricane, Utah:
You’ll create 8 gorgeous greeting cards for the holiday (2 each of 4 different designs, including envelopes) for just $20, and one of the cards is designed with the Fitting Florets collection. Remember to bring scissors and adhesive, but if you forget or need more, we’ll have both scissors & adhesive + refills available for purchase at the class.
Reserve your spot by November 2nd by clicking the button below, or send Venmo to Loni-Spendlove
When you have thin strips of Designer Series Paper you don’t want to throw away, just glue them to a window sheet and die cut a “floating circle”! Want to see more? Watch my Facebook Live video from 10/17/22 and see how easy this card was to create!
We stampers love a little shine and shimmer, and that’s just what you’ll get in the Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper pack…this angle shows how each double-sided paper has one metallic side and one pretty printed side, and you really can’t bear to let any go to waste:
Pick a small sentiment to stamp on one of your non-metallic strips. Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals are easy to hide behind the strips, and lift your circle off the card to make it look like it’s floating! Add a floral image and you have a simply sensational card.
While this DSP was created to coordinate stunningly with the Splendid Thoughts bundle (see my original card below the supply list), I used the Sending Smiles bundle for my video demonstration – the sentiments in the Sending Smiles stamps fit on the strips perfectly.
This is one to try immediately in your stamp studio!
This card was inspired by a card created by German Demonstrator Madeleine Mrotzek for the #gdp364 challenge:
I turned the slimline card on the side (3.5″ x 6.25″) and used the Stamparatus to get perfect placement: Just take out the plate with the stamp on it and move it down to the next hinge, then ink up your stamp with a different color (watch video, top).
It’s a fast & fabulous technique to try in your craft room! Don’t forget to stamp the envelope, too!
Next week is Cody’s birthday and it’s time to make him a card!
I used a new Sale-a-Bration stamp set called “Awesome Otters” (which you could choose free with a qualifying purchase during January & February) and the Slimline cards from the January-June mini catalog. This is a BIG card ~ finished size is 8.5″ x 3.5″ ~ and if you want to see how to make it, you can watch my Facebook Live video from 1/10/22.
Summertime calls for simple stamping and when I needed a birthday card recently, I pulled out the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set, the Everyday Label punch and some bright colors to craft this one:
Know what makes it even more simple? A tutorial to download for you to make it in moments, and you can change up the colors too!
I’m so pleased that you like the Ice Cream Corner Suite as much as I do! I’m all-in for any rubber stamps with a coordinating punch: It makes paper crafting so easy.
This is the last week to order the bundle or suite and receive my April 3-for-Free kit:
While the stamp set and punch will be in the 2021-22 Annual catalog, they won’t be bundled together with the 10% discount like they are right now, and the coordinating Designer Series Paper will be retiring by the end of June!
This is a card we created at our last Stamp Club…and by the way, Stamp Club begins again in MAY, and we’d love to have you JOIN THE CLUB!
Don’t limit your creativity to cards…I even used the supplies to create this with a Rusch clock from Ikea:
Here’s the video tutorial taken from my Facebook Live demonstration:
Happy to have you here as our international blog hop team of demonstrators is showing you how delightful the products from the Stampin’ Up! January-June Mini Catalog are to craft with!
If your children (or grandchildren) have contributed to the BILLIONS of times “Baby Shark” has been viewed or listened to, you know the frenzy that surrounds this phenomenom
When my niece was born, a school teacher asked her older brother what they had names is new baby sister. He was struggling to pronounce “Charlotte” so he told the teacher his baby sister was “Sharky”. Naturally, she needed a SHARK FRENZY card to celebrate her recent age advancement (birthday)!
I noticed that the “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo” could also be sung as “Happy Birthday to You” I borrowed the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set (the “to you” came from a past Paper Pumpkin set…they come in handy at times like these!) for the inside of this double-easel card.
To make a double easel card, make card base 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″ and a second piece of card stock 4-1/4″ x 5″ scored at 1″ and 3″ along the longer edge. Adhere the 1″ flap of the smaller piece to the bottom front edge of the card (with the score along the bottom edge) to create a double easel card base, then add layers of Designer Series Paper, embossed backgrounds or stamped images to embellish your card.
Combined with the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, you’ll SEA a lot of crossover versatility with the Shark Frenzy bundle!
Your demonstrator can help you order the supplies needed for a Sharky card, or if you don’t have a demonstrator, I’ve shared the supplies I used below (U.S. customers) Now bounce on over to Suzanne’s website for another darling animal to craft with: Kangaroo & Company!
