Ice Cream, Adhesive Sheets and Last Chance Sale

When you have the right tools, any project becomes easier.

Adhesive sheets are a type of double-sided adhesive that make any piece of paper into a sticker, and they are indispensable for a project like PAPER PIECING. The Ice Cream Swirl dies are a perfect example of how you can create sweet cards to drool over, using adhesive sheets:

Start with a 5.5″ x 6.75″ card base (scored at 4.25″) and “build” layers with Designer Series Paper. The Lighter Than Air designs have creamy colors that I used to cut 3 swirls from, then built up my lemon-raspberry ice cream swirl. This is a card you’ll want to make triplets of at one time, just to use up all the pieces:

Today (April 9th) is the last day to register for my Crafting Happiness class on Friday, April 19th, where I’ll be featuring the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (and you get a discount on the class if you purchase the bundle from my store)- OR you can use one of the stamp & die bundles you may already have.

A Sherbet Swirl Colors + April Virtual Class!

The Global Design Project Color Challenge #GDP433 had me in the mood for ice cream…sherbet to be precise!

Can’t you taste the strawberry, lemon and orange? I pulled the Ice Cream Swirl bundle out and chose one of my go-to card sketches for showing off a large image, such as the ice cream cone: The Easel Card!

It was probably by design, and not by accident that the GDP colors were closely tied to one of the #creativechallengesu color combinations for February, too, so I did stamp my sherbet in Sweet Sorbet and added a swirl of the same color.

This is my card when it’s closed, and I embellished it with a few hearts from the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers pack:

An easel card is easy to make: The card base (Lemon Lolly card stock) is 11″ x 4.25″ and I scored this one at 3″ and 5.5″. Remember to ONLY ADHERE the bottom half of the layer that will stand up to the bottom 3″ of your card base. Add a small element inside that can prop up the easel- in this case I created a fruity donut in the same colors and put it on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I’ll be using the Ice Cream Swirl bundle for my second 2024 Virtual Card Class in April!

While this class will spotlight the Ice Cream Swirl bundle (Item #162771) -NOT included in the class fee- the projects may alternatively be created with the Simply Sparkling bundle (Item #162871) OR the Beautiful Balloons bundle (Item #161457) any of which can be ordered in my Stampin’ Store: http://bit.ly/lonistampinupstore

Registered class members will receive a class packet with all the consumable supplies (card stock, envelopes, Designer Series Paper, etc) needed for 5 projects we create together during the class, PLUS two full sized accessories (2 embellishments we will use in class) and a color copy of the completed projects. (Remember: Class kit DOES NOT include stamps or ink…you can use what you have or order from my store). Crafting Happiness Virtual Class fee: $37

Class packet includes*:

  • Tinsel Gems Four- Pack (Item #161623)
  • Iridescent Shaker Circles (Item #161625)
  • Card Stock, Designer Series Paper and accessories cut for projects

We All Scream for Ice Cream

I’m so pleased that you like the Ice Cream Corner Suite as much as I do! I’m all-in for any rubber stamps with a coordinating punch: It makes paper crafting so easy.

This is the last week to order the bundle or suite and receive my April 3-for-Free kit:

While the stamp set and punch will be in the 2021-22 Annual catalog, they won’t be bundled together with the 10% discount like they are right now, and the coordinating Designer Series Paper will be retiring by the end of June!

This is a card we created at our last Stamp Club…and by the way, Stamp Club begins again in MAY, and we’d love to have you JOIN THE CLUB!

Don’t limit your creativity to cards…I even used the supplies to create this with a Rusch clock from Ikea:

Here’s the video tutorial taken from my Facebook Live demonstration:

Royal Blog Tour: Sweet Scoops (of Ice Cream)!

(UPDATE May 4: Scroll down for Blog Candy Winner!)
Welcome to my UTAH Ice Cream Castle along the Royal Blog Tour featuring the SWEET SCOOPS stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog!

Confession: I have an incurable sweet tooth, and when it comes to stamps of food…I’m totally addicted! On the last blog tour, I used cupcakes, so it only follows that you need ICE CREAM with your cake, right? Did you know the average U.S. citizen consumes an average of 5 1/2 gallons of ice cream each year?
The petite size of these “cones” make perfect gift tags. More trivia: More ice cream is sold on Sunday (Sundae?) than any other day of the week!

Is your mouth watering yet? I call this card Double Dippin’ (kudos to fellow princess Tami F. for the card pattern!) The sentiment is from the stamp set A Little Birthday Cheer and I’m so happy that Baja Breeze is one of the colors returning to Stampin’ Up!’s new color palette in July 🙂
This next card is called Cherry Topper ~ have you ever had a dipped cone? Scrumptious! But at one time, it was illegal to serve ice cream on top of cherry pie in Kansas…
To make a “shiny” ice cream cone (like the Cherry Topper), just add Crystal Effects over your stamped image (Dazzling Diamonds glitter, optional).
Here’s the scoop: 25% of Baskin Robbins’ ice cream sales are Vanilla! This card covers the other 30 flavors (sentiments also from A Little Birthday Cheer):

So, dear traveler, if you are refreshed by your stop here and would like to enter to win my BLOG CANDY (yum…another food related metaphor!), please subscribe to my blog and/or newsletter in right column (U.S. non-SU! demonstrators only, please) and you could win the Lots of Thoughts stamp set and Tag Punch (shown below with one more Sweet Scoops sample)! That’s better than a hot fudge and caramel sundae, and with much fewer calories 🙂

If you enjoyed your visit, please leave me a comment! Don’t forget to collect clues along the Royal Path to enter the BIG SHOT drawing at the Royal Blog Tour homepage, and if you are ever in Utah, let’s go out for ice cream!

MAY 4th~Drum Roll please….and the Blog Candy Winner is:
GALE SEWELL!
Thanks to everyone for the kind comments, joining my newsletter and following my blog!
