We are back to celebrate the Fall-idays with more festive projects from our international group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators~ Take a moment to hop through and tell us what you like, and pin your favorites to your boards to remember later.

My project turns Halloween upside down by LEAVING a treat instead of taking one!

To create this door hanger, you’ll need a sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ card stock. Score from the short side at 2.5″ and 3.25″, then rotate the sheet 90 degrees and score at 1.75″, 2.5″, 6″ and 6.75″. Cut off the largest rectangles on both sides and fold along the score (dotted) lines and cut along the solid lines as shown:

It’s easiest to do any stamping you wish at this point while it’s flat, then fold the sides in, then up and adhere the lower outside rectangles to the front of the largest rectangle, creating a pocket. Punch a large circle at the top, embellish and fill with treats!

I used the circle I punched out at the top for the moon behind the cat:

So Much Love for Color

Have you ever looked at a color combination and have a stamp set jump into your mind? It happened to me today when I saw the #TGIF280 Color Palette:

So Much Love is a delicate and feminine cling stamp set, and in my imagination, this card appeared…I think it turned out even more lovely than I had hoped:

I wanted it to be a #simplestamping card with just stamps, ink and paper. It always astounds me that with just 3 ingredients, you can make such beautiful things!

Never Lose Your Mojo

Have you noticed that the Stampin’ Up! catalog(s) aren’t just “catalogs” to shop through, they are actually INSPIRATION books ~ and you can find ideas on every page for your crafting?

Take this page (p.95) of the Annual Catalog…you don’t need to have the same stamps, ink or paper to make a cute card inspired by these:

The #SUOC256 challenge this week encourages stampers to use catalog samples as sketches and create something inspired by them. This is my version:

Can you see how I followed the Whale Done card sketch? You will NEVER lose your mojo as long as you have an idea book to get your juices flowing!

Speaking of juice, the Cute Fruit photopolymer stamp set is only in our “Getting Started” brochure, so you may not have seen it yet, but it is my “stamp set of the summer”, even as summer comes to a close.

I appreciate that you can also purchase the Cute Fruit set in a collection of products (ideal for a GIFT or new stamper)!

To add shading to the pineapple, ink it up in the lightest color (Bumblebee in this case), then add some darker color ink (Cinnamon Cider) to the stamp using a sponge dauber BEFORE you stamp it. The colors will blend together beautifully.

Tinsel in a Tangle

Colors inspire me and ever since I got a glimpse of the #tgifc276 color challenge last Friday (and Lauren Alarid’s stinking CUTE holiday card using these unexpected colors), I’ve been thinking about it!

Here’s my take on this challenge featuring the “Don’t Stop Believin” stamp set from the August-December Mini Catalog: IMG_6611-(W2)

If you start making your holiday cards in August, you won’t end up with your tinsel in a tangle in December! Try these tips:

Design your Christmas Card now!
Order the supplies (including adhesive and envelopes).
Cut all the card bases and other pieces while you are binge-watching Netflix (Umbrella Academy season 2 is out…) in September. Keep the pieces in a shoe box to make it easy when you have time for the next steps.
Stamp images on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Ask your husband to drive to your next adventure and assemble the cards in the passenger seat.
Buy cute postage stamps in October!
Make an address list and print labels (this will also come in clutch when your kids get married, as long as you keep it updated) before Thanksgiving.
Mail them the first week of December.

I guarantee that when you break it down into smaller steps, you’ll be relaxed to enjoy the Christmas Season!

Dog Days of Summer

We are in the “Dog Days of Summer”, but do you know what that means?

It refers to a period of particularly hot and humid weather occurring during the summer months of July and August. In ancient Greece and Rome, the Dog Days were believed to be a time of drought, bad luck, and unrest, when dogs and men alike would be driven mad by the extreme heat. This heat wave coincides with the rising of Sirius, the Dog Star toward dawn. The name “Sirius” even stems from Ancient Greek seírios, meaning “scorching.”

For the ancient Egyptians, the dawn rising of Sirius (known to them as “Sothis”) also coincided the Nile River’s flood season. They used the star as a “watchdog” for that event.

Of course, the appearance of Sirius does not actually affect seasonal weather, but because it rises near dawn during the hottest part of summer, the star lends it’s lore to the hot and humid season.

Now you know the history, let’s make a fast and simple card using the Dog Builder punch!

Playful Pets Suite

TIP: When creating a mask, stamp the image over the sticky section of a sticky note so that the sticky will help the mask stay in place while stamping.
