Often I am pleasantly surprised by a suite of Stampin’ Up! products that I didn’t expect to love. The Ready to Ride Suite is a perfect example!

While my single motorcycle riding experience didn’t endear me to riding the big bikes, I can see where the wind-in-your-hair-open-road-big-sky kind of day could be very appealing. This collection of products: Legendary Ride stamps and coordinating Dies, Metal Plat Embossing Folder and most spectacularly, the Ready to Ride 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper…all come together in SUCH an AWESOME way for some revved-up greeting cards like this one I demonstrated today:

There are a few tricks I wanted to show you about easily cutting and adhering the pieces to create a very detailed motorcycle…and the video begins with an unboxing of a LIMITED EDITION Boho Blue Mini Cut & Emboss Machine (with details on how you can get it!):

To help you put it together, I made this Motorcycle piece guide. You can change colors and “chrome” as desired…on my card, I used the gunmetal silver foil sheet and the bright silver is shown below. Feel free to print off the picture and slide it into your die envelope or stamp case to refer to when building your bike!

Do you say “I’m sorry” too much? Women are the worst at apologizing, even when we haven’t done anything wrong!

I’m working on replacing “Sorry” with “Thank You” and had the opportunity to practice on Sunday when my husband was waiting for to go to church while I finished handouts for my primary class. When I was done (we weren’t late), I said “Thank You for your patience!” instead of ”Sorry to make you wait” and he was more gracious about the wait.

Of course, an apology when I HAVE done something wrong is appropriate, but when I can use THANK YOU instead, it feels more validating for both parties: “Thank you for listening” rather than “I’m sorry I’ve been talking so much”!

My card today is one I can use when someone has sacrificed their time to help me (and I have a friend in mind)…so instead of saying “Sorry I took your time” I can express my appreciation for their assistance!

It’s also a #multicrafting project: I used the Global Design Project sketch #gdp366 , the Apple Harvest stamp set to participate in the Stampin’ Through the Catalog challenge on Instagram and the colors Soft Sea Foam and Cherry Cobbler so I could share it for a Red & Green creative challenge I gave my Sprinkled Ink team.

30 Years of Stamping

It’s a BIG milestone to commemorate: Today is my 30th Stampaversary!

That’s a looonnggg time to have a hobby AND a career that I love, and every day has been a joy!

I had just given birth to my second child when I joined Stampin’ Up! in 1992 and while I strongly feel Motherhood is a noble calling, I REALLY needed some adult conversation and a talent that made me feel validated. My babies were wonderful, but they never said, “Good job! You are so awesome!” (until they grew into adults).

That’s why I started… and I stayed because I found a family of other creative people who loved making and sharing pretty things: Some are part of my team and others are life-long customers, and some go back-and-forth from one to the other. It’s a privilege to help others discover their inner artist, and to find validation and joy in their talents.

Now, about that “Celebrate You” card… I gave my team a challenge to make a project inspired by sunflowers, and this was mine. The supplies will be listed below, and to make the background, I spritzed a piece of Fluid 100 watercolor paper with water, then used my clear blocks to pick up ink from my stamp pads and rubbed onto the wet paper. Once it was dry, I cut out the sunflowers and frame from Soft Suede card stock that I had pre-adhered adhesive sheets to, then they stuck to the front of the watercolored background. Trim around the edges and adhere it to a card base!

New Catalog, New Colors, New Stamps…and we can’t wait to share it all with you! Today we are featuring the 2022-2024 In-Colors that made their debut this month and as you visit the website of each of our International demonstrator design team, **make sure you PIN your favorites** to remember for later.

Bright and bold, I adore these new colors, and I wanted to show how lovely three of them (Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Orchard Oasis) coordinate in WATERCOLOR:

The Happiness Abounds bundle was perfect for this simple technique! Here are the easy steps:

Heat emboss the flowers and leaves with white embossing powder on thick Basic White card stock.
Squeeze your ink pads (while closed) to get a bit of ink inside the lid of your case, then open the ink pad and pick up a bit of ink from the lid using a water painter. (Don’t pick up ink directly from your ink pad). TIP: Start with a light wash of color and add more as desired..
Use the dies to cut out the watercolored flora using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and add to your project with liquid glue or dimensionals.

Putting these flowers onto one of our new striped Emboss Treat bags makes me ready for the next birthday or wedding gift I need to wrap.
