Holiday Stamp Camp Sneak Peek #3

Another peek at one of the exciting projects you’ll be creating at the Handmade for the Holidays Stamp Camp! This is a Christmas Decor item and you’ll love the possibilities for decorating using our Decor Elements vinyl line.

It’s not too late to attend the stamp camp this Saturday in St. George! Call 801-376-8685 to register for Oct. 10 (St. George) or Oct. 24 (Spanish Fork) and remember, Friends don’t let friends stamp alone…so bring a friend and come “get your Jingle on!”

Merry Banner

I’ve really enjoyed using my Big Shot! Here is a Christmas banner I created with the Pennant Die from Stampin’ Up! I even added some bling to the chipboard letters with glittery embossing powder. Simply cover the chipboard with white craft ink and pour on Iridescent Ice embossing powder while wet, then heat to set.

Recipe (all supplies from Stampin’ Up! unless noted): Big Shot, Pennant Die, Ski Slope Designer Series Paper, On Board Letters, Little Felt Flurries, White Craft Ink, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, heat tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pretties kit, 5/8″ Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon, silver cord.

Joy to Everyone

//www.youtube.com/get_player
Ever see something that touches you so deeply that your breath is taken away? That is how I felt when I saw this new video: the pictures are so stunning and the music so moving and joyous, it was the first time I’ve truly felt the true spirit of Christmas this year. Really.

The artists that composed the music and took the pictures made this as a gift. Joy to Everyone expresses the hope that everyone feels love, peace and joy this Christmas. This is my hope, too.

Gift Card Holder

‘Tis the giving season, and if you are giving gift cards, this simple and sweet gift card holder is a beautiful presentation. We’ve been making them in our workshops this month! I used the Basic Brown stamp pad to stamp on the shimmery white card stock because it dries quickly enough to watercolor over without smearing.

Recipe: Ski Slope Designer Series Paper, To You & Yours stamp set, Old Olive and Shimmery White card stock, Basic Brown and Baja Breeze classic stamp pads, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, Aquapainter and Scallop Edge, Word Window and 1 1/4″ circle punches.

Score a piece of 6″x12″ designer series paper at 6″ and 3.25″ from each short side. Fold into a “W” and glue around the inside bottom of the “W” to create a pocket (DON’T glue along the fold…that is where your card will go in). Punch two word window slots on the edge of the fold and a half circle to open the card pocket. Embellish as desired.

I love giving (and receiving!) gift cards and money, but if you need more fun ways to present them to friends and family, click here.

Organized Christmas

Ah, the Holiday Season! Does it conjure up cozy fires, Christmas Carols, hot cider and family togetherness? Or does the mere thought of long lines, frenzied shoppers and massive credit card bills have you in a fetal position? I’m afraid I tend toward the latter. My intentions have always been good: Every year I vow to have my shopping done by Halloween so I can relax and enjoy the season. But guess what? Halloween is in two days and I haven’t even started. In fact, I’ve got my kids practically convinced that we should skip Christmas and just go on a vacation (which may cost more than presents, but will make memories to last longer than the sweater I was going to give…I hope!)

However, I was inspired by OrganizedChristmas.com This site has a Christmas Countdown (it started on October 26, but you can catch up), gifts and crafts, recipes and my favorite: printable planner pages! This is what I WOULD use, if I was going to be the perfect Mrs. Santa. I prefer the Christmas Pocket Planner Forms that you can print to use when you make this super-easy organizer demonstrated by Australian stamper/crafter Kylie, below.
