Scottie Dog Loves You- Simple to Stepped Up

Woof! means “Welcome” to the October New at SU! Blog Hop. We really stretched our creativity to bring you not one, but THREE projects this month~ all using the same stamps, but ranging from simple to sensational!

Perhaps you are just starting to stamp, or you need an easy card in a hurry? Or you are ready to add a little “extra” to your card? Don’t worry, avid stampers, I’ve got something for you to make this card “over the top” too!

I’m using the Christmas Scottie bundle (stamps & punch) but with a non-holiday card concept…it could easily be adapted for a Christmas Card just by changing the colors and greeting.

Simple Card: 3″ x 5″ banner (use a 3″ x 1/2″ strip of the other side of the Designer Series Paper for the top), stamp and punch out dog, bow and add greeting. TIP: Remember to stamp your envelope(s) at the same time as you are stamping the card!

Step it up to a Casual Card: Add a 4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Soft Suede Designer Series Paper to the card background, tie a ribbon around the top of the banner and emboss the greeting on Soft Suede. Tip: Add a 1/2″ wide piece of card stock punched with the Banners Pick-a-Punch behind the heat-embossed sentiment to make it look like a banner:

To step it up to an Avid Card: Score 1-1/4″ from the right edge of the card and fold it back. Add 1″ strips of Designer Series Paper to the flap and inside right edge of card and 2-3/4″ 5-1/4″ panels of Designer Series Paper and basic white card stock to front left side and inside card. Banner: 3-3/4″ x 3″ (DSP) and 3-1/4″ x 4″ Soft Suede. Add Iridescent Rhinestones.

TIP: Only adhere banner to the front flap so it can open like this:

Wherever you are on the Stamping Spectrum, you’ll discover multiple ways to keep it simple OR step it up at all these amazing posts along our October Hop…Pin your favorites to remember them!

New at SU: Beautiful Day for Love

It’s the New at SU! Design Team “Moms, Dads, Brides and Grads” blog hop!

Our international design team wants to help YOU get ready for all the big events coming in the next few months, so visit all the posts and PIN your favorites to try. I had fun creating this card for brides (and grooms) on a wedding day using the Blessings of Home Bundle…and BONUS, it’s perfect for gifting money to the newlyweds as it’s a large slimline card that fits in our coordinating Slimline envelopes

For this size of card, start with a piece of 8.5″ x 7″ card stock and score it in half at 3.5″ (finished card is 8.5″ x 3.5″).

Have you ever tried Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils? They are easier than you’d think to use and they give this card a soft effect, different than my usual preference for Stampin’ Blends. This is literally how I started…just by scribbling color onto my Watercolor Paper:

I do TRY to follow the lines and details of the image, then I use the Water Painters to blend the colors out, working from lightest to darkest. A tip for watercoloring: You will have MUCH better success when using Watercolor Paper or SU! Shimmery White paper, as they hold up to the moisture best and won’t “pill up” when you add water.

Once dry, use the dies to cut out the image for the front of your card. I’ve layered it onto some lovely Designer Series Paper.

I’m also practicing (but not proficient, yet) the art of the double bow, which I call “The Tammy” in honor of fellow demonstrator Tammy Wilson, whose cards are immediately identifiable by her lovely bows. Luckily for you AND me, she’s made a video, which I’ve watched and attempted numerous times on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page. With enough practice, I’m confident my double bows will get better.

All the supplies I used are listed below, and you are ready to travel on to the next post in our Blog Hop:

New at SU!~ Treasures of Life

Welcome to our January 2021 NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who LOVE sharing Stampin’ Up! paper crafting ideas with you, and today that love takes center stage with all the 💚🧡 HEARTS ❤️💜

I chose the Treasures of Life stamp set to use for this card~ this image of the granddaughter with her grandfather reminds me so much of my husband’s tenderness with his grandchildren, and it makes me fall in love with him in ways deeper than I had ever imagined:

The card uses the Oh, So Ombre Designer Series Paper that you could choose FREE during Sale-a-Bration (January-February 2021) with a $50 order. Coloring in the image with the Stampin’ Blends was a lovely way to make the people come to life!

This fun fold card base is 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 1.5″ and 7″, and there is a tender message on the inside from the stamp set, as well.

As you hop along, leave us a comment to tell us what you like so we can continue to share what you love! You can order the supplies to create our projects from your demonstrator, or if you don’t have a demonstrator, choose one of us (in your country) and we’ll be happy to help you get started!

All the supplies for this project are listed below, and when you are ready, you can move to Nicole’s project…

Season of Love

Should love be in season all year long? I think so! Especially since my last name is SpendLOVE (I’m pretty lucky in the name department…and he thinks I only married him for his car, pshaw…)

So this LOVE-ly card could be a Valentine, a bright Springtime wedding or just because you need to spread the love and was created with one of Stampin’ Up!’s new Photopolymer stamp sets called Snuggles and Smooches and the 2013-2015 In-Colors. Click on the photo for a printable .pdf tutorial!

Did you know that for each $50 product you purchase from my Stampin’ Store you can choose a Sale-a-Bration product FREE? And one of the choices is the Blendabitilies Markers from the catalog! Since I used the Coastal Cabana Markers to color the glimmer heart on this card, you could choose those as your Sale-a-Bration reward when you place your order: Use code 139923 to get them free.

Love Your Mailbox

If I could crochet, I’d make one of these for my mailbox:
“WHY?” you may ask…we’ll let me tell you:

Once a month I go to my mailbox and it gives me a beautiful RED BOX like this:
https://mypaperpumpkin.com?demoid=810
And inside this box is a magical creative escape!

I’ve told you about My Paper Pumpkin before, and you may be thinking “But you are always making something crafty…what’s so special about this box?” and the answer is: “But I don’t have to cut any paper or come up with a new idea…I just open the box and create something that is prepared for me!”

And that’s why I want to thank my mailbox. I think it should know how much I love it.

If you want to love YOUR mailbox as much as mine (but don’t want to crochet a blanket for it), then you can subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin, too: https://mypaperpumpkin.com?demoid=810

Love Isn’t Love ’til You Give It Away (+Blog Candy)

It has been a joy to swap sampler squares with my downline and in my stamp clubs and last month we made Valentine squares! Remember as a kid when you said, “I just love that!” and your friends would say, “Then why don’t you marry it?!”…I love this one almost enough to marry it, but I’m already taken 🙂

I especially love how everyone does something different with their squares (thanks to Heather B, Pam C and Shelly S for sharing a smattering of samplers!)

Would you like to gather your friends together for Sampler Swap? I’d be happy to teach you how!
Since “Love Isn’t Love ’til You Give It Away”, I’ve got a little love to share: I have a few extra Valentine Squares to share with someone who comments below by February 9, 2014! Make sure to check back on Monday, Feb. 10 to see if you’ve won 🙂

UPDATE 2/11/14: Congrats Meredith! You are the winner! Check your inbox 🙂
