Out with Old, In with New

The end of a Stampin’ Up! catalog is bittersweet as I hate seeing things I have loved retire, and I’m also excited about what’s coming! Today I used a retiring stamp set and a coming-soon ribbon to create a card of enCOURAGEment on my weekly FB Lunchtime Crafting LIVE broadcast (which happens every Monday at 12:30 Mountain Time, by the way).

It started with the Global Design Sketch #190

When a friend just needs a little encouragement, a card is a tangible piece of your support and this one almost made itself:

The colors are Petal Pink and Gray Granite and Whisper White and the stamp set is Ribbon of Courage (retiring June 3). The ribbon is NEW Petal Pink Organdy Stripe (coming in the new catalog on June 4th) with a few silver metallic pearls sprinkled on to give it some bling.

Mark your calendars for my New 2019-2020 Catalog Reception on June 8th in Utah County where you can snag both old AND new products with my once-yearly BOGO sale, and pick up a new catalog!

Designer Series Paper Takes the Spotlight

Remember when I said the only paper products Stampin’ Up! offered 25 years ago were white? It makes me grateful for all the amazing choices we have in 2017! Especially when they are as sumptuous as the “Whole Lot of Lovely” Designer Series Paper pack:

This paper (DSP) popped into my mind when I saw the #GDP102 sketch:

Plus, I’m crushing on the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon right now (it’s on SO MANY of my latest creations, but it just makes the *loveliest* bows…), so here’s my take on the sketch:

The sentiment (stamped and die cut from the Lovely Friends bundle) just pops off the card, but the paper definitely is the star of the card!

Bloomin’ Gift Jar (+Tutorial)

While I enjoy making cards, my favorite things to create are both beautiful and useful. So this idea came to me while on vacation and would be perfect for Mother’s Day as well as the birthday version I created here:

 Bloomin' Gift Jar Tutorial
I did a Periscope as I was making this (yep, I’m there as Creative Juice by Loni) and some of the ideas to fill it were M&M’s, Jelly Beans, Buttons, Love Notes, Prayers, Soup Mix, Cookie Mix and Ideas. What would you fill it with?

I have a tutorial for you so you can re-create it too (click on link or any of the jar photos to download a .pdf instruction sheet) To order any of the supplies, please shop in my Stampin’ Up! Store and remember to do this so I can send you a thank you card:
If you create a gift jar inspired by this tutorial, will you share it with me over on my Facebook Page? I’d love to see your version!

Thanks for visiting and have a BLOOMIN’ marvelous day!

Invite Christmas JOY and Extravagant Ooops

Let’s start with the “Ooops”…how did I NOT tell you about the Stampin’ Up! Extravaganza sale here on my blog? Probably because I put it on my Creative Juice Facebook page and thought I had covered my bases >:p

And yes, today is the last day!! (Click on the image to shop in my store)

Sorry for that…but to make up for it, let me tell be the FIRST to tell you that there will be a new year-end closeout sale on the Clearance Rack from December 5-January 5!  I may be late for one, but at least I’m early for the next one 😀   Unfortunately, they don’t overlap, but there are some awesome deals in both. And of course there are new weekly deals every Tuesday…they show up over in the right column —>

On to the Tuesday Tutorial! This is an ornament I created that could also double as a small wreath for your door:

The “wreath” is actually a candle dish from Ikea and has felt bumpers on the back, so it won’t bang against your door. It’s super easy to make, too! Download the tutorial here and invite some JOY into your house this Christmas season.

This trio of bunnies are too adorable for words and I’ve been looking for an excuse to use them, so I combined sketch #78 from the Freshly Made Sketches blog and the color inspiration on my Creative Juice by Loni Facebook page…and it turned out so sweet! Shimmer & Shine

If I were a drinker (I’m not), I would try champagne just because I love the name. Come on, say it with me: “SHAM-PANE”. Champage, Champage, Champage…say it three times and click your heels together and you’ll be taken to a wonderful castle in a cloud! Okay, maybe not, but drink in this beautiful card created with the Champagne Glimmer Paper (Item 127885) and Very Vanilla card stock (this week’s color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary~CCMC230):

Must say I adore how the Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon (Item 122332) matches so beautifully, tying all the elegant elements together 🙂 I used the Stripes embossing folder (Item 123128) for the background, used the Label Collection Framelits to cut the focal points and embossed the New Year’s single stamp (Item 132336) in gold. This stamp is fabulous because you can use it year after year. I’ll be using this card for many upcoming events!

Check out more of the single stamps by clicking on the link on the right (only available through January 2, 2013) and of course, the Clearance Rack Blitz!

National Card Making Day Challenge

Tomorrow (October 6th) is National Card Making Day and to celebrate, I have TWO challenges for you and that means TWO chances to win a prize! I have posted a COLOR challenge on my Facebook page and here on my blog is the SKETCH challenge. Play along! Here is the basic sketch, a basic 3 panel card:

And here is my 3 panel card:

Card Recipe (all from Stampin’ Up!): Whisper White and Midnight Muse card stock, Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse ink pads, Brayer, Flower Garden embossing folder (item #123113), Big Shot, Midnight Muse Stitched Satin ribbon.

Feel free to add embellishments to the basic sketch and have fun with it! Share your cards with the link tool below through Monday,  October 8th at noon for a chance to win a spool of the Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon I used on my card AND a copy of my card! Happy National Card-Making Day/Weekend!

UPDATE 10/25/12: Congratulations Heather for winning the Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon!

Satin Rosette & Ribbon Roll Control (Blog Candy!)

Today’s card features a rosette created with the Stitched Satin Ribbon (Summer Starfruit #126846). To create this flower, I used a Jumbo Sticky Round (#127852) and started on the outside of the circle with the end of my ribbon, gathering (or “scrunching”) the ribbon as I went around the circle, spiraling into the center and finishing it with a Midnight Muse Dahlia (#127556).  Since it’s “Back to Spool” time, you can get your ribbon FREE….
Back to Spool
My *favorite* way to store my ribbon is with the Ribbon Roll Control system, shown here wearing all the In-Color Stitched Satin Ribbon:

And THANKS to Trish of RRC who has kindly donated one of these cool acrylic stands to be given to one lucky visitor (no ribbon included)! Leave a comment below by September 30th and you could be the winner. If you don’t win, head on over to Ribbon Roll Control and order a few of these to hang on your wall and keep your ribbons corralled!

Wait…that would be TWO chances to win, because someone will also receive the card I created, too!

UPDATED: The winners are Heather B~Ribbon Roll Control and Kathy Mc~Card! Thanks for visiting and commenting. We bloggers love to hear from our readers, it means so much!  Kathy Mc: I need your snail addy to send this card to...email me 🙂
