Retiring Colors & Last Chance List

A flurry of activity at Stampin’ Up! the past few days: Demonstrators were given a peek into the COLOR REFRESH that is coming with the new Annual Catalog on May 2nd – including the 2023-2024 IN COLORS – as well as a list of all the retiring products (see below).

You may come back tomorrow for a look at some of the NEW colors, but first, let’s talk about what is leaving.

These CORE COLORS are leaving the lineup to make room for a fresh new set of hues! If your favorites are on this list, you will want to quickly MAKE SURE YOU HAVE an ink refill for your ink pads, as well as card stock and any accessories in the same color.

When a big change like this happens, ink refills are the first thing to sell out, so don’t wait!

I AM happy that Fresh Freesia is going to step up and take a place in the SU! Subtle color family, but the other 2021-2023 In-Colors are also walking out the door…

I will share what I can tomorrow about the NEW & Returning colors.

The list of retiring products from the ANNUAL catalog and January – April Mini Catalog is also available now!

As you download or print these lists, you’ll notice that some have a discount by them: THE LAST CHANCE SALE BEGINS APRIL 4th, but if you have a favorite item, beware that some supplies are limited and may sell out before the sale starts. Once they are gone, they will NOT be restocked.

ONE THING I DON’T WANT YOU TO MISS OUT ON

is the Stamaparatus! Sadly, SU! had to make a legal decision to discontinue this amazing tool, and it’s indispensible for stampers…do you have one yet? ADD IT TO YOUR CART NOW!

With all the changes, I’m cleaning out my Stamp Studio in preparation for my BOGO SALE and NEW Catalog Open House on May 6th! Mark your calendar and come to this once-a-year event at my house in Hurricane, UT and bring a friend.

Thank you for letting me serve your creative needs – Loni

Hinge-Step Happy Birthday

The Stamparatus is the right partner to do the “Hinge-Step” with 💃🏻🕺🏽

The right tool always makes the job easier, and to get your stamps lined up perfectly, you’ll love dancing (and stamping) with the Stamparatus tool:

This card was inspired by a card created by German Demonstrator Madeleine Mrotzek for the #gdp364 challenge:

I turned the slimline card on the side (3.5″ x 6.25″) and used the Stamparatus to get perfect placement: Just take out the plate with the stamp on it and move it down to the next hinge, then ink up your stamp with a different color (watch video, top).

It’s a fast & fabulous technique to try in your craft room! Don’t forget to stamp the envelope, too!

Cards to Dye For

In true re-cycle fashion, tie dying is back on trend! And it seems a bit more classy than the first time around, don’t you agree?

Naturally, Stampin’ Up! saw this coming and created the Spiral Dye stamp: It creates GROOVY backgrounds for cards (at 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″, it covers a standard A2 size card front).

The COOL thing about this stamp is that when you spin the stamped image 180 degrees, you can stamp it a second time with another color and get the Tie-Dye effect! The Stamparatus tool makes it SUPER easy:

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 2021_ac_p118_a_imperial.jpg

Looking at the spiral, it reminded my how often my “well-laid plans” get changed and I have to make adjustments. It happens to you, too, right? Learning to pivot and change directions is a skill that takes practice, but will help us learn to deal more smoothly with life’s unexpected challenges. Which is where I got the inspiration for this card:

Tell me you can relate.

Using Magenta Madness and Granny Apple Green as my colors, I stamped the Spiral Dye on a 4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock, then used my trimmer to cut it into 6 random pieces before adding it to my card front. Demonstrators call it the “Scrappy Strip” technique.

To get a perfect edge around the word PIVOT (cut from the very versatile Playful Alphabet Dies), use an old fashioned compass drawing tool on the smallest width and lightly trace around the letters glued to white card stock with a sharp pencil. After fussy cutting, erase any leftover pencil marks.

The Lighthearted Lines had the perfect sentiments to go with it (PLOT TWIST!) and on the inside of the card I used another quote from the set:

Another Lighthearted Line sentiment that would have worked says, “When nothing goes right, go left”

Next I wanted to try embossing with the Spiral Dye and it worked out spectacularly:

It’s even more shiny in person!

I made you a tutorial for this one which you can download by clicking the button…and BTW, if you don’t have Silver Foil Sheets from last year’s catalog, there will be some in the August-December mini catalog coming 8/3!

Beautiful Peacock & Stamparatus

Often Sale-a-Bration speeds by before I have a chance to play with all the terrific products I earn free, so I’m just sliding into the end-zone with this one!

Watermarked1(2018-02-27-2121)

This is called a “Double Z-fold” card and is super simple to create. The sentiment comes from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set, but all the other stamps are from the Beautiful Peacock Sale-a-Bration set (which is one of the items you could choose free with a $50 order by March 31, 2018).

Watermarked3(2018-02-27-2121)

  • The Emerald Envy card base is 11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″.
  • The Flirty Flamingo layer is 9″ x 3-1/4″ scored at 3″ and 6″.
  • I embossed the Layered Leaves on the 2-3/4″ end.
  • The Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon is my FAVORITE and I hope it carries over to the next catalog! It’s luscious to work with.
  • Both Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo are part of the In-Colors will be retiring in May: Make sure you have stocked up on card stock, ink refills and accessories A.S.A.P.  because they will only be **while supplies last** once the retiring list comes out in April!

I wanted to show you how to use the Stamparatus (available in my store June 2018!). It’s such a cool tool and this is just the basic way to use it (but there are MANY MORE):

If you would like a reminder when the Stamparatus is available to order, Email me!

One hint on assembling this card: On the Flirty Flamingo layer, only put adhesive above and JUST BELOW the ribbon on the back because you are adhering only the top half of that piece to the top of the Emerald card. Once that is secured where you want it, smash the Flamingo Z fold flat, turn it over and apply adhesive on the back side of the end with the peacock and close your Emerald card over on top to put it in exactly the right spot. Easy-peasy!

There is only one week of Sale-a-Bration left: Don’t miss it!
