Hoot! Hoot! These Owls are CUTE

Oh my, these Adorable Owls live up to their name…and may be the first stamps you choose FREE for a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration, starting today!

Demonstrators have the opportunity to pre-order from the January-April mini catalog a month early (AND earn Sale-a-Bration products first, too!), so I’ve been playing with these sweet things in preparation for the launch of this favorite event. If you like being the first to party with new products, you will want to take advantage of the special Starter Kit offer for Sale-a-Bration because how cute is the exclusive BOHO BLUE Mini Cut & Emboss Machine? PLAY this video to peek…

With that mini – but mighty – machine (or the classic white option), you’ll be ready to cut the Framed Florets oval dies to create this Adorable Owl card, and have less fussy cutting in the future!

The contrasting Designer Series Paper really makes this simple fun-fold feel fancy, and there is plenty of room to write a message, slip in a gift card or cash into this greeting card:

Ready to start your own Stampin’ Up! adventure? It’s flexible, fun and creative! I’d love to help you get started:

Coloring On Vellum, the Easy Way

Vellum is beautiful, but a few of the challenges with it are:

  1. Stamping and coloring on it (because of the coating on the paper, it takes forever to dry), and
  2. Adhering it so you can’t see the adhesive.

For this card, I die cut a frame to adhere the vellum to and colored it on the back side with Stampin’ Blends, which don’t leave streaks and dry quickly because they are alcohol based:

As paper crafters, we hate wasting paper so I have another tip: Make TWO cards at a time to most effectively use your card stock. You can cut the frame from the center of one color and use the outside edge as a matte for your Designer Series Paper for the other card (watch video below):

The In the Moment stamp set works perfectly with the New Horizons Designer Series Paper and with these sentiments, I can imagine sending it to a friend to encourage them to take some time off from the hustle-and-grind. They are excellent reminders that self-care is also taking time to unwind!

Here’s a short HOW-TO video and you can order the supplies from my Stampin’ Store by clicking the links after that:

I’d love to hear how you liked this tutorial…leave me a comment below!

Pumpkin Thank You Card

It was hard to sleep last night, so I imagined crafting with the colors from the #tgifc341 challenge: Very Vanilla, Pool Party and Pale Papaya. To be honest, it didn’t help me sleep, but it did make me excited to create this card for my FB Live today!

Can’t get enough pumpkins for the fall, and the daisies were a whimsical touch paired with my polka-dot pumpkin, don’t you agree? The background was hand drawn with Pool Party Stampin’ Blends markers. Don’t be afraid to make your own plaid!

Mixing up all your stamps and supplies can expand your creativity!

One of the best ways to get most of the supplies for this card is to take advantage of a November-only special for the Starter Kit: Choose $125 in products for just $75!

Not only do you get a great savings on your supplies, you’ll get a discount on future purchases and a chance to see if being a demonstrator works for you!

June 3 for Free: Dragonfly Garden

Punches make creating cards simple by offering an element that adds that “punch” of pizzazz! This month, my 3 for Free kit will be mailed out to those who order the Dragonfly Garden bundle, which features the Dragonfly punch and you’ll be flying to the craft room to put them together.

While I will send you all the consumable supplies (card stock, paper, ribbon, etc), there are a few ink pads and supplies you may want to add to your order (if you don’t already have them) to help you complete your projects:

  • Balmy Blue Classic Ink Pad
  • Bumble Bee Classic Ink Pad
  • Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink Pad
  • Just Jade Classic Ink Pad
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • Sponge Daubers
  • Gold, Copper OR Silver Embossing Powder
  • Heat Tool (for embossing)

To get you inspired by this bundle (and to teach you how to make some stunning watercolor backgrounds), I demonstrated these two cards during my Facebook Live yesterday (not part of my 3 for Free kit):

The technique (Stampin’ Blends on Vellum with Alcohol) is really quite magical, and so enjoyable to watch:

As I mention in the video, if you don’t want to do this technique yourself -OR- you just want MORE of it, you can also subscribe by June 10th for the Paper Pumpkin Kit “Expressions In Color” which will get you making 9 gorgeous watercolor themed cards in moments with everything you need in one kit arriving in your mailbox:

Hey, Birthday Chick: 3-for-Free!

Remember the Hey, Chick stamp set from Sale-a-Bration a few years back? They were the “must-have” set of the year and those same chicks are BACK (and ready to PARTY!) in the January-June mini catalog. It’s fitting that my February 2021 3-for-Free class features the new Hey, Birthday Chick! bundle:

In addition to their new stamp set, the original set is available AGAIN – ICYMI – and there are coordinating dies to keep them farm-fresh. “CHICK” out what all the cluck is about HERE!

Starting off with a simple card, I created this one on my Facebook page last Monday:

There is also an edited version of the how-to video on YouTube:

When you order the Hey, Birthday Chick bundle from my Stampin’ Store in February, you’ll receive a tutorial for 3 projects via email with the paper goods to make those projects coming to you in the mail.

Supplies you will also need to complete the 3-for-Free projects:

I listed the mini Cut & Emboss machine for those who don’t have a machine yet, but a regular Cut & Emboss machine will work too (or a Big Shot).

Birthday Chick All Wired Up

I miss my chickens.

Consoling myself with stamped chickens is (only) slightly less messy and time consuming, but there aren’t any delicious eggs to look forward to. It’s all good though, because these hens from the Birthday Chick stamp set make me laugh as much as the live versions did!

This greeting card started with the TGIF Challenge on Friday to use our background stamps: The All Wired Up background had been on my mind since the chicks arrived!

By using the new Blending Brushes to add a little extra Granny Apple Green ink at the bottom of the background, it added on Ombre element that helps Chunky Clucky really pop off as the focal point!

You may be asking…where did the picket fence come from? Did you fussy cut Chunky Clucky? Well, my friends, I have good news for you: On February 2nd, customers will be able to order coordinating dies (and that’s not all, so stay tuned)!

Tinsel in a Tangle

Colors inspire me and ever since I got a glimpse of the #tgifc276 color challenge last Friday (and Lauren Alarid’s stinking CUTE holiday card using these unexpected colors), I’ve been thinking about it!

Here’s my take on this challenge featuring the “Don’t Stop Believin” stamp set from the August-December Mini Catalog:IMG_6611-(W2)

Isn’t that fun? Check out how to use the Lovely Labels Pick-a-Punch here!

If you start making your holiday cards in August, you won’t end up with your tinsel in a tangle in December! Try these tips:

  1. Design your Christmas Card now!
  2. Order the supplies (including adhesive and envelopes).
  3. Cut all the card bases and other pieces while you are binge-watching Netflix (Umbrella Academy season 2 is out…) in September. Keep the pieces in a shoe box to make it easy when you have time for the next steps.
  4. Stamp images on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
  5. Ask your husband to drive to your next adventure and assemble the cards in the passenger seat.
  6. Buy cute postage stamps in October!
  7. Make an address list and print labels (this will also come in clutch when your kids get married, as long as you keep it updated) before Thanksgiving.
  8. Mail them the first week of December.

I guarantee that when you break it down into smaller steps, you’ll be relaxed to enjoy the Christmas Season!

Lean on Me

“When you meet someone, treat them as if they were in serious trouble, and you will be right more than half the time.”  – Henry B. Eyring

So many times we struggle alone, but it is our duty and privilege as human beings to “comfort the weary and strengthen the weak” (an excerpt from one of my favorite hymns). When I wrestle to know what to say or how to help, I turn to crafting to help  express what I cannot adequately convey, and the love just flows out of my hands.

This striking line art Artfully Aware stamp set is a blessing to have in your collection because it allows you send a hug made from card stock to someone who is hurting or fighting a battle:149447G

Here is a simple card I created that I know I will mail often:

IMG_0876

Isn’t our burden lighter when we know someone else is there for us? Even if they can’t do anything, prayers and love are tangible in our lives.

I used the same design to create another card for any cause you wish to support as this set also coordinates with the Support Ribbon Framelits. I used Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party for these cards, you could easily change the colors to match the ribbon color of any disease. Watermarked2(2019-04-12-0937)
