Flowering Cactus In Color

While I’m a native southwestern girl, I confess I’m not really into southwestern decor. However, the Flowering Cactus Product Medley caught my attention in the Jan-June Catalog with a fresh palette and adorable images and fonts that really made me want to play with it.

Enter the #GDP293 color challenge with 3 new In Colors, and they’ve got me reaching for that Flowering Cactus…

While stamping the background, it’s not going to look good until you are almost finished stamping…don’t worry if it looks a mess, it will all work out fine!

This is the type of card you have to intentionally mail: Can you think of a friendship that has become richer through the years because you’ve been through a lot of “sticky” situations and “dry” seasons? Write down those memories and be grateful that you are closer because of them.

Don’t miss the chance to add the Flowering Cactus Product Medley to your stamping stash: It retires in June!

Plaid Tidings: 3 for Free Class Kit

When a stamp set works for more than one season, it’s a great investment. When you can get it in a bundle with dies that could be used for ANYTHING, it’s as good as if you had invested in ZOOM in 2019.

I’ve chosen this collection of products to be my “3 for Free” class in September 2020: When you purchase the Plaid Tidings Suite from my Stampin’ Store, I’ll send you the consumable supplies to create 3 projects and the tutorial for the projects will hit your email inbox before the supplies arrive in your mailbox!

It was delightful to invent this new fun fold~ calling it the Label Flap Card:

Here’s the video tutorial…count it as ANOTHER card you can create with your new supplies!

The Christmas version of the same card:

There are a few things you’ll need to complete the 3-for-Free class kit. You may substitute ink colors or adhesives you already have in your craft studio as well as a compatible die cutting machine (like the Big Shot). If you need any of these supplies, you may add them to your order at the same time.

Suggested Supplies:

Ink pads: Memento Black, Cinnamon Cider, Pretty Peacock, Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce.

Stampin’ Blends: Pumpkin Pie Combo

Other: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Simply Scored ~or~ Stampin Trimmer, Blender Pen, Stampin’ Seal Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Small circle punch, stapler

G.O.A.T. Greatest of All Time

For a short while, we raised a goat. He was a curious little creature, and the kids really enjoyed his antics. They are funny four-legged animals with tons of personality…kind of like the Way to Goat stamp set: goat set

As I was playing with these stamps I happened to have a Melon Mambo frame laying on my desk that I had already cut from the Ornate Layers dies and the idea for this simple card was born:IMG_6143-(W2)

Making cards with the Way to Goat stamp set will make you laugh out loud! Thanks for ordering the necessary supplies from my Stampin’ Store and keep on crafting every day!

Cardinal in Blue

Driving parallel to the Utah Rocky mountains this week I had a hard time keeping my eyes on the road and not on the breath-taking colors on the mountains! Naturally, I decided to create a card to pay homage to the fall foliage and the #GDP210 sketch seemed like a great place to start:

gdp210

I’ve been wanting to use the cardinal from the Toile Christmas Stamp set in a color other than red, so that’s where I started:

IMG_3375-(W)

I don’t know who I’m sending it to yet, so I opted for a simple sentiment and can write whatever I want inside later.

Sponging a bit of white ink on the trees embossed with the Woodland embossing folder gave the feeling of walking through a grove of aspen trees, which are in glorious color currently. IMG_3373-(W)

Hope the leaves in your corner of the world are as lovely as they are here!

Sale-a-Bration Coordination

Watermarked6(2019-03-26-1002)

It’s been fun, but the Sale-a-Bration party is winding down…with only 5 days left to add a free item (or two) to your collection, I wanted to show off a few very versatile items that will allow you to craft through all four seasons of the year, but HURRY, many of them are only here until March 31, 2019!!

painted

The Painted Seasons Sale-a-Bration bundle has DinsINKtive stamp images for Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall, along with a pack of coordinating Designer Series Paper that is a splendid variety (those toadstools are adorable!). You can choose this bundle FREE with a $100 U.S. order, and the other supplies to create these cards can help you collect a qualifying order!

To make the coordination and your crafting even easier, there is a matching framelit die set for the flowers and leaves and the More Than Words stamp set has greetings for multiple celebrations (and which, coincidentally, has sentiments for almost ALL of our S-A-B 2019 stamp sets): Both are available to purchase for a only few more days.

Let’s take a look at the details of these cards:

It’s a simple fold that really makes your card more exciting to open and the Stitched Rectangle Framelits are a necessity in your die cutting collection.

Make the world a brighter place: Stamp a card and mail it to someone today!

Birthdays, Blooms and a Class for You!

Whenever I get a moment to create just for fun, it’s a special day. Today I wanted to play, but had work to do first. Once work was done, I rewarded myself with stamping time following the #tgifc155 sketch:

tgif2bapril2b20182bchallenges_new-001

As I’m getting geared up for the Perennial Birthday Box & Cards Class next week in Utah County (have you registered?) I wanted to showcase the versatility of this simply lovely stamp set, Perennial Birthday:

145760g

I also wanted to use a few retiring Stampin’ Up! colors, so pulled out my Wisteria Wonder, Wild Wasabi and Peekaboo Peach (with a little Soft Saffron that isn’t retiring) and did an emboss resist card for the challenge:

Watermarked(2018-04-13-1400)

The Wisteria card is also embossed with the quilt top embossing folder…if you missed it at Christmas time, you’ll be happy to know you can order it again when the 2018-2019 catalog sales period starts on June 1st.

RSVP for the Perennial Birthday Box & Cards class by Monday, April 16th so I can get your supplies in time for the class. Meanwhile, create something pretty with rubber stamps, ink and paper and share it to make the world a lovelier place!

Beautiful Peacock & Stamparatus

Often Sale-a-Bration speeds by before I have a chance to play with all the terrific products I earn free, so I’m just sliding into the end-zone with this one!

Watermarked1(2018-02-27-2121)

This is called a “Double Z-fold” card and is super simple to create. The sentiment comes from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set, but all the other stamps are from the Beautiful Peacock Sale-a-Bration set (which is one of the items you could choose free with a $50 order by March 31, 2018).

Watermarked3(2018-02-27-2121)

  • The Emerald Envy card base is 11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″.
  • The Flirty Flamingo layer is 9″ x 3-1/4″ scored at 3″ and 6″.
  • I embossed the Layered Leaves on the 2-3/4″ end.
  • The Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon is my FAVORITE and I hope it carries over to the next catalog! It’s luscious to work with.
  • Both Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo are part of the In-Colors will be retiring in May: Make sure you have stocked up on card stock, ink refills and accessories A.S.A.P.  because they will only be **while supplies last** once the retiring list comes out in April!

I wanted to show you how to use the Stamparatus (available in my store June 2018!). It’s such a cool tool and this is just the basic way to use it (but there are MANY MORE):

If you would like a reminder when the Stamparatus is available to order, Email me!

One hint on assembling this card: On the Flirty Flamingo layer, only put adhesive above and JUST BELOW the ribbon on the back because you are adhering only the top half of that piece to the top of the Emerald card. Once that is secured where you want it, smash the Flamingo Z fold flat, turn it over and apply adhesive on the back side of the end with the peacock and close your Emerald card over on top to put it in exactly the right spot. Easy-peasy!

There is only one week of Sale-a-Bration left: Don’t miss it!

Lots & Lots of Lavender

Yesterday I played with the Lots of Lavender Sale-a-Bration stamp set for the first time and actually said out loud, “WHY haven’t I used this before now?” This is one of the easiest 2-Step stamps I’ve ever used and the watercolor effect it has took my breath away as I created!

Wisteria Wonder is one of my favorite purple colors we carry at Stampin’ Up! and now that Spring is starting to wake up, it was retrieved from it’s hibernation to make this first card:Watermarked2(2018-03-12-1316)

These first two samples were actually created LIVE on my Facebook page and you can watch how I created them in my video HERE.

The second one has a completely different look and between the two of them, we used ALL of the stamps in the set. Watermarked3(2018-03-12-1320)

There are no sentiments in the Lots of Lavender stamp set, so I paired it with the All Things Thanks stamp set for all of these cards (the sentiment is on the inside of the first card). This is a BONUS card I created after the video in Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide on Sahara Sand card stock: Watermarked1(2018-03-12-1310)

Sale-a-Bration ends March 31, 2018 so don’t miss your chance to get the Lots of Lavender (or one of the other S-A-B products) FREE!

Simple Thoughts for a Friend

Do you ever avoid sending a note to a friend because you think you have to create a artistic masterpiece to carry your thoughts? I’m guilty of this, but I’m working on sending a message or a card *AS THE INSPIRATION HITS ME*

tgif2bchallenge2bbuttons2b2017-043

When I saw the sketch challenge on TGIF Challenges today, the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack came to mind and I decided to make a simple card for a friend:

Watermarked2(2017-12-08-1109)

Nurturing a friendship takes time and effort and sometimes a quick card to say, “I’m thinking about you” lasts longer than a text or even a phone call. Some things you could include in your card may be a bullet list of 5 things you love about your friend like:

  • Thanks for seeing the best in me and others.
  • You never let me wallow in self-pity and I appreciate your honesty.
  • Of all your features, your curly hair and dimples are what I see when I imagine your lovely face!
  • When I’m with you, I know I’m going to laugh heartily and it feels so good!
  • Isn’t it great that we can pick up right where we left off even if we haven’t seen each other in years?

Watermarked1(2017-12-08-1104)

My original card was 4.25″ square, but I had another piece of leftover Pool Party card stock, so I made a 3.25″ note card that would be perfect on a gift, too.

Product List

Now I’m going to mail it to a friend today because my goal for the year has been to mail a card each day and I’m almost there!
